Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 29: Chapter 29: The Quest for the Knife

In Reincarnation Paradise, Su Xiao spends most of his time traveling between the [Trial Field] and his exclusive space.

He has not summoned the mirror image of Geng Si Lang again, instead choosing the actual combat mode to hone his combat skills.

Although he has ’died’ several times during this period, Su Xiao has also gained a lot.

In the blink of an eye, three days have passed, and Su Xiao receives a prompt from Reincarnation Paradise.

[The Hunter is about to return to the real world, please remember the Reincarnation Paradise regulations.]

[It is forbidden to disclose anything about Reincarnation Paradise in the real world by any means, otherwise, a warning will be issued; if the warning is ignored, the Hunter will be executed.]

[The Hunter cannot use abilities obtained in Reincarnation Paradise in the real world, except for personal attributes and passive skills.]

[Most equipment or items obtained in Reincarnation Paradise cannot be taken out into the real world, they are in a locked state and will be restored when returning to Reincarnation Paradise.]

[Teleportation begins, location: real world.]

A familiar feeling of teleportation occurs, and when Su Xiao regains consciousness, he finds himself lying in a cold locker.

The temperature inside the locker is very low and somewhat narrow. Su Xiao’s face turns black, as there is only one possibility for his current location.

He kicks the bottom of the locker door, and with his current power, he directly kicks the locker door out of shape, sending it flying outward.

This kick not only sends the locker door flying but also causes Su Xiao to slide out along with it.

The locker he’s in is like a long, metallic drawer.

”Clang.”

The locker lands on the ground, making a loud noise in the silent room.

Su Xiao surveys the room he’s in, and the incandescent light bathes the room in an exceptionally cold glow. His suspicion is confirmed: this is a morgue, a place where bodies are stored.

Previously, he was ’shot’ and his ’body’ was stored here. He entered Reincarnation Paradise after his pseudo-death, which locked onto his life force, so he wasn’t entirely dead.

The loud noise from the morgue draws the attention of others.

In the hospital duty room, a young nurse in her internship shudders at the loud noise.

The nurse, dressed in a white coat, realizes the sound came from the morgue below. But her colleague who was on duty with her went out to buy a late-night snack, and she is the only person on the first floor of the empty hospital at night, as everyone else is already resting. She’s a bit scared to go out.

”N-no, it can’t be a ghost, don’t overthink, my teacher once said that there is no such thing as ghost gods in the world, none, none, sob~.”

The young nurse’s name is Yi Ruo, and she has been an intern nurse for two months.

”Thud.”

The noise in the morgue occurs again, causing Yi Ruo to scream. The hot water cup she was holding slips to the ground and shatters.

This loud noise is from Su Xiao violently breaking down the morgue door.

He walks down a narrow corridor, with various departments labeled on both sides. The pungent smell of disinfectant lets Su Xiao deduce that this is a hospital, and it’s the one in his city.

Su Xiao had been here once and had some vague impressions of this small hospital.

He is not in a hurry to leave because he must find his family’s heirloom knife.

Anything could be lost, but not that knife.

Su Xiao looks around for hospital staff as he has no clues about the knife’s whereabouts.

Soon, Su Xiao stands in front of an illuminated duty room, where a beautiful young nurse is staring at him in a daze.

Su Xiao opens the door and walks into the duty room. Before he can speak, the young nurse on the chair rolls her eyes and faints directly, sliding off the chair onto the floor.

Perplexed by the nurse falling, Su Xiao steps forward and pinches her philtrum hard.

The young nurse slowly comes around but shows fear upon seeing Su Xiao, and instinctively wants to scream.

Su Xiao immediately covers the young nurse’s mouth and nose.

”Don’t make a sound, or I’ll kill you.”

Su Xiao has just left the Derivative World, and his killing intent is heavy.

The young nurse nods quickly, looking at Su Xiao with tearful eyes, appearing extremely pitiful.

”Who brought me here?”

The young nurse’s panicked response hints to Su Xiao that she might have seen him before, causing such a reaction.

”Oh, oh~,”

The young nurse points at Su Xiao’s hand, indicating that she still can’t speak, and Su Xiao releases his grip.

”Huff, huff~,” There’s a moment of heavy breathing.

”Y-you’re supposed to be dead. Your death had nothing to do with me, so please don’t come to claim my life. I... I’ve never been in a relationship, never done anything wrong, sob~” The young nurse’s voice quivers, tears welling in her eyes.

Su Xiao coldly stares at the young nurse.

”Answer my question.”

Su Xiao’s icy voice makes the young nurse shiver.

”I’m not sure exactly who, but there’s a record in the registry.”

After obtaining some information, Su Xiao gets up and leaves.

East City Garden, not a high-end but rather well-known community, is where Su Xiao was born in this second-tier city. Of course, he knows the location of East City Garden.

On the deserted streets at night, he hails a taxi to head straight for East City Garden.

Ten minutes later, Su Xiao arrives at East City Garden.

He won’t enter East City Garden through the front gate, as he is currently a blacklisted person and likely has a murder case on his back.

With Su Xiao’s infiltration skills, he sneaks into East City Garden in around half an hour. A group of thugs from East City sent him to the morgue, and after some preliminary investigations, he learns their location.

In a residential building, on the third floor, in a bedroom, comes the sound of even breathing. The more Su Xiao listens, the harder his expression becomes. His knife is not here with the yellow-haired thug who is sound asleep on the bed.

Su Xiao is growing impatient. The longer the delay, the slimmer his chances of finding the knife, so he slowly approaches the sleeping thug.

As Su Xiao gets closer to the thug, he suddenly lunges, using his left arm to choke the thug’s neck while his right hand grips his left fist, forming a Guillotine hold from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

This move is extremely vicious, completely cutting off blood supply to the brain. If the strength is sufficient, it can make a person lose consciousness in just two to three seconds and die in under ten seconds.

The sleeping thug has no chance to cry out and his body goes limp.

Su Xiao hoists the thug over his shoulder and leaves East City Garden the same way he came. In this late night at East City Garden, his comings and goings are simple enough.

-------------

In a dark alley, the thug gradually wakes up.

”If you want to live, honestly answer my questions.”

”Who are you, I am...”

Before the thug can finish his sentence, Su Xiao punches him in the chest.

A painful groan follows, and the yellow-haired thug slumps to the ground.

”Where’s my knife?”

The thug looks at Su Xiao in confusion, his face full of pain. Su Xiao’s punch felt like being hit by a train.

”What knife, who are you?”

”Su Xiao.”

Su Xiao stands in the dark alley, openly revealing his true name.

At this point in the situation, there’s no need for concealment. He can confirm that by tomorrow he will ’honorably ascend’ to the rank of a wanted criminal.

”It’s you, your knife has already been sent overseas and is ready for auction.”

The thug’s tone is calm, without the slightest abnormality.

”Lying.”

Su Xiao grabs the thug’s fingers, and after a series of cracking sounds, the alley echoes with a pig-like squeal.

”This time it’s five fingers, next time it will be your neck. Once you’re dead, I’ll find someone else. You’re not the only one who knows about this. Death means losing everything.”

The thug’s face twists, his eyes seeming to blaze with fire.

”Your knife was taken away by our boss. It’s got nothing to do with me.”

”Good, take me to your boss.”
