Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Abnormal

Su Xiao drove along the midnight streets, with the gangster in the passenger seat.

”How much farther?” Su Xiao had floored the accelerator, the speed at least above 160, and as it was midnight, there were few vehicles on the street.

At this rapid pace, Su Xiao realized something: even driving at this speed, he remained in control. His agility attribute enhanced not only his speed but also his nerve reflex speed.

”Almost there, friend, please slow down, I don’t want to die yet.”

The gangster’s eyes showed some despair, feeling today might be inescapable.

Su Xiao’s prior look was something the gangster had seen once before, a look that only appears after killing someone.

The gangster also noticed that Su Xiao was different from the average killer because Su Xiao’s gaze was intensely fierce.

”Help me find my knife, and those who tried to ambush me before, and you can live.”

Su Xiao lit a cigarette, taking a deep drag.

The gangster sighed, finally nodding.

After driving into a community, Su Xiao arrived at the destination.

”Get out.”

Su Xiao held a pitch-black pistol in his hand, a gun he had found earlier in a residential building, likely the same gun that had once hit him.

Guided by the gangster, Su Xiao arrived at Elder Fang’s door.

”Knock.”

The gangster hesitated, glancing at the gun in Su Xiao’s hand, which was already loaded.

Unable to refuse, the gangster could only knock on the door.

”Knock, knock, knock~.”

After several knocks, faint footsteps were heard coming from inside the door.

”Who is it, at this time of night?”

A slightly weary female voice came from inside the door.

”Sister-in-law, it’s me, Xiao Zhang,”

Seconds later, a still-charming middle-aged woman opened the door.

”Come in, what time is it...?”

The middle-aged woman’s question trailed off, a black gun pressed against her head.

”Step back slowly, don’t make a sound.”

The middle-aged woman was scared stiff, staring blankly at Su Xiao, and after being dazed for a while, she slowly retreated.

Su Xiao dragged the gangster inside, entering the room and quietly closing the door afterward.

As the middle-aged woman retreated, she accidentally bumped into a half-meter-tall vase behind her.

”Crash.” The sound of shattering ceramics was exceptionally sharp in the silent living room.

”Don’t, don’t act impulsively, I didn’t mean it.”

Su Xiao ignored the middle-aged woman, his eyes locking onto the coffee table in the living room, where a knife rack stood conspicuously, holding his sheathed sword.

Stepping forward, Su Xiao picked up his sword. The familiar feel brought a smile to his face.

”Mom, it’s so noisy~”

The door of a bedroom in front of Su Xiao opened, a girl in a camisole standing at the entrance rubbing her eyes.

The girl stared blankly at Su Xiao and the black gun, her mouth slightly open, about to scream.

Su Xiao lifted the gun muzzle, signaling her to return, and she nodded rapidly, slamming the door shut.

With his sword found, Su Xiao moved to leave the room and departed the place.

-------------------

Before news of Su Xiao’s survival spread, he was already on a train to a neighboring city.

At this time, Su Xiao’s appearance had changed significantly; he looked like a student. Given his age, with a little makeup, he could easily disguise himself as a university student.

Arriving in the neighboring city, Su Xiao did not linger, randomly boarding a long-distance bus.

With the bus’s jostling ride, Su Xiao’s body subtly swayed, seemingly having closed his eyes for a light nap but in reality, on alert to his surroundings.

A child’s cries, the whispered laughter of two girls in the front seat, a young man with headphones shaking constantly from the seat diagonally ahead.

”Interjecting a piece of news, a fugitive has appeared in the neighboring city.”

The movie playing on the bus’s front LCD screen abruptly paused, displaying a photo of Su Xiao.

”The criminal suspect...”

The passengers on the long-distance bus were drawn to this news, eyeing each other.

Su Xiao sighed internally at how quickly they moved; his wanted order had been issued in less than six hours. Not to mention anything else, his resurrection and status as a former assassin naturally drew a wanted order.

But for Su Xiao, this kind of warrant posed little threat. Beyond his strength, his stealth ability made him challenging to track down once hidden.

After several transfers, Su Xiao traveled continuously for four days, stopping only when he no longer knew where he was.

Retrieving a new phone location, Su Xiao discovered he had arrived in DL City, a coastal city.

”Nice place.”

DL City, surrounded on three sides by the sea, even if pursued by the police, he could at most smuggle himself abroad.

Unless things got irreparably dire, Su Xiao didn’t want to flee abroad, having many enemies overseas.

Right now, the most important thing was to find a place to settle down. Su Xiao didn’t want to go to places like hotels, which were crowded and unsuitable for long-term stays.

Standing on the bustling street, Su Xiao felt a burst of hunger. These few days of constant travel had left him without a proper meal.

Su Xiao found a restaurant and ordered local horse crabs.

It was May, the peak season for the plump horse crabs, with each weighing at least over a pound.

Peeling the hard crab shell and dipping it in the restaurant’s secret sauce before taking a delicious bite, the meat was rich and exquisite, with tender crab meat tantalizing his taste buds and the unique aroma of seafood leaving him with endless aftertaste.

”Bill, please.”

Su Xiao laid down the last crab shell and belched.

The restaurant owner approached with the ledger, staring in shock at the crab shell on the table.

”This~.” The owner was stunned by Su Xiao’s appetite, as he had consumed seven to eight times the usual amount.

Enhanced physical attributes meant Su Xiao needed more energy as strength wouldn’t appear from nowhere and required substantial energy.

”A total of 789, you can pay 780.”

Su Xiao took out several hundred-yuan bills, handing them to the owner.

”Is there a rental nearby? I’m a student who just arrived here and need a place to stay for a few months.”

The owner took out a phone, fiddled with it for a moment, then showed it to Su Xiao, displaying ’DL City Rental Network.’

At this moment, the owner looked at Su Xiao as if to say, ’Young man, nobody looks for rentals on the street these days.’

Su Xiao gave a sheepish smile, noted the website, and left the restaurant.

Walking along the bustling street, Su Xiao’s thumb rapidly clicked on the phone screen, browsing the site, a local small social platform dedicated to housing agencies.

After a long search, he found a slightly peculiar rental ad.

’Prime location, convenient transportation, starting rent ten thousand per month.’

In DL City, a ten thousand per month rent wasn’t unheard of, but the ad’s lack of extensive housing information, leaving only a phone number, was puzzling.

Su Xiao didn’t lack money, so he dialed the number, presuming a ten thousand per month housing to be of good quality, likely a luxury villa standard.

The call was soon answered, a somewhat hoarse male voice speaking.

”Meet to discuss, Tianhai Road No. 37.” ℴℴ𝘮

With that simple sentence, the call was hung up.

Su Xiao was slightly startled, then shook his head. Too much trouble; there might be other hidden issues. A ten thousand per month house price was odd on its own, and he didn’t want to get involved, so chose another location.
