Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

The curtain of night has been drawn.

Tonight, the stars gather like a galactic river, flowing across the sky.

A full moon and a solitary star hang on the horizon.

The bright moonlight pours into the Ghost Soul Mountain Range.

Yet, within the cool, dark mountain range where the cold wind wails, the moonlight only makes the place more eerie and chilling.

The howling wind pierces through the rocky caverns of the mountains, producing a sound akin to wailing.

The sound is piercing, yet it continuously echoes in the ears.

A phantom-like figure slowly moves beneath the moonlight.

Upon closer inspection, it’s a ghost.

Under the moonlight, the ghost’s body appears pale and faint, like smoke swirling and gathering as it moves forward slowly.

The ghost gently cradles a palm-sized incense burner pedestal.

A solitary incense stick stands straight upon the small incense burner.

The incense burns with ghostly blue Soul Fire, gently swaying under the pure white moonlight, flickering with specks of blue light.

Wisps of smoke drift from the incense stick, and under the howling cold wind, the fragrance spreads around.

At this time, behind the ghost, around the ghost, in the shadows cast by the moonlight.

Countless red dots flicker in the darkness, following the ghost’s movements.

They are attracted.

Indeed, such a scene is not only happening here but across every corner of the Ghost Soul Mountain Range.

A total of 16 members with a clear consciousness, holding Soul-Attracting Incense Sticks, lure the Evil Spirits from different areas and corners, leading them towards the central region.

Even they themselves are drawn, yet with the incense right before them, and possessing wisdom, they can advance in one direction while being attracted.

After Alka left, Chadite and the others remaining in the camp started to take action.

However, such action is evidently unsuitable for the flesh-and-blood bodies of Chadite and the others, as holding a Soul-Attracting Incense Stick would indeed attract Evil Spirits to eliminate them.

Only these ghosts, who share the same spirit form as the Evil Spirits, can accomplish this, showing how these Evil Spirits are somewhat different from the external ones.

The Evil Spirits of the Ghost Soul Mountain Range harbor animosity towards all living things, but those who are dead and intelligent like them are not their targets.

Interestingly, sometimes they attack fellow Evil Spirits but never these conscious ghosts.

As for outside Evil Spirits, not only are they intelligent, but common ghosts, disembodied souls, and living creatures all fall within their targets.

These relatively unintelligent Evil Spirits of the Ghost Soul Mountain Range are thus instinctively attracted by the Soul-Attracting Incense.

Following the ghosts holding the Soul-Attracting Incense Stick, they advance, returning to where they once left.

Returning to where they ought to be.

Meanwhile, within the camp.

Chadite and the others had long stopped remaining in the camp and had moved their residence into the mine shafts.

Hardly any Evil Spirits venture there, as it disperses the Abyss’s aura.

If the place becomes crowded with ghosts and they stayed outside, their flesh-and-bone bodies would become prominent targets, and even the moonlight, which intimidates the Evil Spirits, would be ineffective.

The more Evil Spirits there are, the higher chance that if a powerful one attacks, others will follow suit, pouring in like a relentless tide.

Although Chadite and the others are not afraid of these Evil Spirits, destroying them would be futile if they don’t know where they might resurrect elsewhere.

They laid out 16 routes, leading from various corners to this location, attracting as many Evil Spirits as possible.

Under such circumstances, those that aren’t attracted would only be a minimal few, causing no significant impact even if scattered.

The more powerful one’s strength, the more likely they are to be drawn to the Soul-Attracting Incense; the range in which powerful Evil Spirits can detect is wider, making it difficult for them to stray beyond the incense’s range.

This ghost slowly advances towards the center, holding the Soul-Attracting Incense.

In this slow movement, the smoke from the burning incense never ceases, nor does the incense stick diminish as if it continuously burns.

This is because the incense holder contains the material that burns, while the incense stick merely serves as a conduit, transforming it into a gaseous form.

This ghost does not tire, maintaining a steady pace and posture as it holds the incense stick without pause regardless of day, night, or rain.

Even the pace remains steady, with no changes whatsoever.

After almost ten days of slow movement, a multitude of bizarrely shaped Evil Spirits have gathered around her.

If an ordinary person or someone unfamiliar with such a sight witnessed this scene, they might be driven to madness.

It resembles an invasion of monsters from the Abyss, Hell, or even a Nightmare into reality.

Just one glance would send shivers down one’s spine.

After an indeterminate amount of time, as the materials within the incense holder near depletion, the ghost finally sights the intended destination. She sees the mining field where she had once fiercely battled.

She has long been bound there and would never forget the surroundings.

As she crosses a small hill before her and gazes downward, she sees a thick crowd of Evil Spirits surging in the mining area below.
