Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Since Alka and the others were waiting inside the fortress, Grefar often stayed at the Anti-Wear Fortress to resist the attacks, reducing the frequency of his returns.

According to the transmitted news, it can be known that the battles at the Demon-Defending Fortress are much fiercer than before.

To the extent that the wounded almost filled the fortress, forcing them to be sent everywhere for treatment, and subsequently, enough personnel were drawn from various locations to support the fortress.

Alka and the others stayed in the fortress like this, watching the soldiers they had once fought with go to provide support. But when they returned, less than half remained, and many of those who returned were carrying wounds of various sizes.

The severe injuries left some with lifelong disabilities, making even daily life difficult for them.

However, their future life would at least be guaranteed, and one should not underestimate the power of the Church.

After a bit of recuperation, they would follow the troops to go back and provide rotational support.

The death rate is astonishingly high.

Meanwhile, Alka and the others learned some information within the Demon Hunting Fortress regarding Slaughterer Kalande.

This demon, when it descended, had strength barely at Tier Six. But its timing was very coincidental, as most of the Curse Sword Clan’s strong personnel had already gone to the front to resist the demons.

Upon descending, it massacred almost all of the Curse Sword Clan, which had little combat strength at that time, with only a few escaping.

After that, the demon disappeared, and Alka discovered that besides some officers at the Demon Hunting Fortress and Grefar, others barely knew that it was this demon that slaughtered the Curse Sword Clan.

Now this demon’s strength has reached the Seventh Stage and has been fighting at the Demon-Defending Fortress.

An important general under the Demon Lord.

In other words, if Alka and the others wanted to take down this demon, it would actually not be difficult because it often operates in the area of the Demon-Defending Fortress.

However, upon knowing that this demon was at the Seventh Stage, they had no choice but to temporarily give up on this goal, considering it after gaining more strength.

Though it’s said Grefar severely injured the demon while supporting the Demon-Defending Fortress, and although it managed to escape, it wouldn’t appear in public view for a long time.

This time.

Humanity still paid an enormous and painful price to fend off the fierce attack from the demons.

Now the intensity of the demon attacks has gradually slowed, and it’s starting to reach a level of daily occurrences.

Alka and the others watched the soldiers rotating to provide support as they begun to return.

Many new recruits came to the Demon Hunting Fortress for training, and more Demon Hunters joined in.

”This battle, although we paid a greater price than before, we also achieved results that were previously hard to come by,” said Saland, chatting with Alka and the others, wrapped in bandages and sitting beside them with one eye blind.

Saland was among the first batch of commanders to provide support at the Demon-Defending Fortress, fighting until the very last moment before returning.

The price was losing his left eye permanently, and the wounds on his body would take at least one or two years to heal, even with top-tier treatment.

The injuries were too severe, invaded by abyssal corruption.

Besides that, he often had to pray deeply to the Holy Mother to avoid succumbing to the abyss’s influence.

Alka and the others sat by, listening to his support experiences.

”What results?”

Jason asked beside him, having done comparison; the forces of the Demon Defense Wall lost 30%.

This is an incredibly massive concept, causing the Four Gods Church to rarely call for support for a holy war in the Endless Sea.

Such a call for support is usually heard maybe every few decades, or even centuries.

The effect is also remarkable.

More people willing to join the holy war are flocking to the World Scar.

Filling the void in defense after the battle.

How great must the results be to match such a price?

”An elite squad took this opportunity to infiltrate the demon’s rear and conducted a certain degree of repair on that open wound.

This repair makes it harder for demons to enter the World Scar, and all demons’ strengths are weakened to a certain extent.

Because connecting to the Abyss has become more difficult.”

”How long can such effects last? After all, demons can also cut open these repaired areas again, right?”

It’s hard to cause new scars to the world, but cutting off repairs that haven’t yet healed or have just started to heal is much easier.”

Upon hearing this, Saland nodded helplessly.

”It won’t last long, but it will at least delay the next full-scale attack by at least double the time.”

The sky suddenly darkened as he spoke; night had fallen.

Alka looked at the sky.

”The time has come.”
