Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

So after the node is damaged, they can immediately use the core to extend the city wall back.

This prevents the problem where the opponent’s advantage quickly expands due to a single node being destroyed.

The Demon-Defending Fortress is also the place guarding the largest passageway.

If that place is breached, almost the whole world, including the scar, would be in danger.

The earliest time humans were able to combat demons was due to countless ancestors shedding their blood there to build that fortress.

Grefar basically alternates between the Demon Hunting Fortress and the Demon-Defending Fortress.

For Grefar, the Demon-Defending Fortress is the main battlefield, and the Demon Hunting Fortress is like a place of rest.

Even if the Swallowing Maw leads his troops to attack here, taking advantage of the fortress, Grefar doesn’t need to respond too seriously.

Remember this fortress allows Grefar, through his Treasure, to completely suppress Swallowing Maw, combined with the environmental factors.

So, even though Swallowing Maw is the person in charge of attacking the Demon Hunting Fortress in this direction, he rarely appears on the battlefield because he knows it is pointless.

The entire sprawling battlefield is simply a tool for the demons to wear down the human forces.

Through consumption, a fatal flaw will eventually show in the humans.

To demons, most, if not all, are expendable.

Trading ten demons for one human is, to them, a kind of profitable business.

In most attacks, Grefar himself is actually not at the Demon Hunting Fortress, only when the fortress needs him and is in extreme danger. He then uses special means to arrive quickly.

This is the phenomenon Alka has observed this time, which Grefar didn’t hide, and Alka didn’t ask about specifics.

”But going now is somewhat too dangerous, better to wait,” Grefar suddenly thought of something and said.

”Why do you say so?” Alka understood, but it was just as a regular person would understand.

Understanding for someone like Grefar, who is in a high position, must be different.

”Because I suddenly remembered, Swallowing Maw will surely trip you up there.

Now it’s not only our main battlefield but also the main battlefield of the demons; the Demon Lord and those two Commanders are all there.

Although your current strength is significant, and you seem to have gathered many Treasures.

But essentially, you’re still in the Fifth Stage, aren’t you?”

Upon saying this, Grefar looked up at Alka. Faced with this question, Alka nodded without much need to conceal.

You could say almost everyone on the battlefield believes Alka and the others are in the Sixth Stage, because they slaughter demons of the Sixth Stage as if they’re nothing.

Just like Chadite previously did, with everyone’s support, forcibly slaughtering a powerful Sixth Stage demon with absolute suppression.

Those slightly stronger than Alka and the others, with discerning eyes, can see they are essentially still in the Fifth Stage.

”That place is the most chaotic region, also the area constantly invaded by the Abyssal aura, so there Swallowing Maw might indeed concoct something.

It’s better to wait until you reach the Sixth Stage before taking on the task of attacking and defending the fortress.

After all, it’s unwise to confront the enemy’s strength with your weaknesses, and I believe with your caution, you know this.

Moreover, if you want to spread your reputation and expand your fame, that’s the best location. At the Sixth Stage, I believe you can demonstrate an even more astonishing combat power, then amaze the whole world.”

Upon hearing this, Alka looked at Grefar and asked the question he always wanted to ask.

”I want to know one thing, why in the Endless Sea, all powerful individuals intentionally or unintentionally spread their fame?

What is the reason? Does it have anything to do with the formula for becoming a god?”

Upon hearing this remark, Grefar’s expression changed. He couldn’t help but turn around to stare at Alka, as a rare doubt appeared on his stern face.

Alka could sense his confusion wasn’t about Alka knowing the so-called formula for becoming a god, as to strong individuals, this ought not to be a secret.

But the doubt didn’t last long, as he suddenly seemed to understand.

”Speaking of which, how many years did it take you from arriving at the Endless Sea to here?”

Upon hearing this, Alka roughly calculated: ”Over 10 years, but definitely not more than 15 years.”

When hearing this, Grefar nodded.

”No wonder, come to think of it, the major event you participated in was only the resurrection of the Flower Fairy that time.

And it was indeed only that one activity on Gemini Island.”

Alka nodded, that’s true.

Most of their time was spent on ocean journeys and searching for treasures in various places.

Only in the event of the Flower Fairy’s resurrection did they contact various larger powers; before that, they hadn’t interacted with any large powers, except the Holy Mother Church, of course.

In retrospect, they’ve been wandering in the border sea region extending from Gemini Island. Generally speaking, it’s still considered relatively remote areas.

They haven’t gone to any famed large islands, as large islands mean high development, restricting their scope of action considerably.
