Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Alka shook his head: ”It’s not because of this, I want to know if there’s a place here that stores books or materials, I want to know more about this place.

About the former Saralan Empire and some subsequent historical conditions”

Hearing this, Purvis nodded.

”It seems that the Treasure Hunting Team needs the support of information to succeed, you Treasure Hunter are quite adept at collecting what you need from this plethora of information.”

Listening to Purvis, it was clear that he had dealt with quite a few Treasure Hunting Teams before.

This is why the Treasure Hunting Team is keen to maintain good relationships with various Churches.

Speaking, he led Alka and the others through a side door towards the back.

Although the fortress isn’t large, it’s more than just the small prayer hall outside.

Heading to the back, you can see some small rooms, which seem to be used for resting or storing things.

Arriving at a room, this room isn’t too big or small, but the ceiling reaches seven or eight meters high.

Clearly, this place used to be some kind of tower and now has been converted into a small library, with various materials and books densely packed.

Only a somewhat shaky and simple spiral staircase extends upwards.

”These are the materials and books, most of them are related to this place. There are many books about demons. If there’s anything that can help you, feel free to find me.”

Saying this, Purvis smiled and prepared to leave! Alka seemed to have thought of something and quickly called him back: ”I see the atmosphere outside is tense, has something happened?”

Hearing this, Purvis nodded solemnly: ”According to intelligence from the front lines, the demon forces have intensified. They may launch a full-scale attack again, trying to break through certain areas.

This happens every few years, sometimes with strong offensives, sometimes less intense.

These demons are constantly attacking, trying to find a flaw and then break through it.”

Upon hearing this, Alka nodded to indicate understanding, meaning the front line attacks have intensified, so more personnel and resources are needed for preparation.

”Don’t worry, we already have rich experience in dealing with various offensives.”

Purvis said and left the place, leaving Alka and the others to find the information they needed.

...

The sky was suddenly covered.

Night fell.

Alka only then took Lucilia away from the Church’s library, came out through the side door onto the streets, and soon returned to the Sound of Dawn.

The crew were already back.

At the table, everyone was eating while exchanging information gathered today.

Not only Alka, Jason and the others also asked why there’s a tense atmosphere throughout the port city.

”Should we go to the front lines for a look?” Juanlu asked while eating.

After all, aside from Alka, who had prior business at the front lines, the others hadn’t been to the front lines where the Demon Defense Wall is located.

They didn’t know what the situation there was like.

Based on the conversation just now, Alka gained more understanding of this atmosphere and the corresponding full-scale attack. He thought and said.

”Let’s wait a while, then we’ll all go to the front line together to help fend off this attack. Provide whatever help we can.”

Maintaining the entire Demon Defense Wall means protecting themselves. Once the demons gain an advantage in the attack, the Mouth of Devourment will definitely seize the opportunity to try to eliminate Alka.

Moreover, they are on the human side with the goal of repairing the world, and to repair the world, these demons must be dealt with somehow.

Based on the conversation just now, it can be deduced that this kind of large-scale full attack does not happen all of a sudden.

It’s a gradual process.

Demons will start strengthening their troop deployment, begin harassing and exploring the human situation everywhere. They will send various scouts, using different rituals or methods to enter behind the walls, investigate the general situation, and cause disruptions.

Only then will the large-scale attack be launched, since demons are almost never disciplined, various problems will always arise.

Even the three leading demon generals have to spend effort gathering these damned demons.

They even cause trouble among each other.

Not to mention the arrangement of various attack directions and battle formations.

These are very difficult tasks for the demons.

If demons didn’t have this chaotic nature, this place would have been conquered a long time ago.

This chaotic nature is inherent to demons and can never be eliminated.

This is also why they can hold fast with fewer numbers.

The battle could last for several months until the fiercest siege is fought and repelled. Severely weakening demon forces before stabilizing.

The duration may last around half a year, this is the experience amassed over such a long defense.

The human side and demons have engaged over the course of hundreds of times.

There have been moments of crisis on both sides.

They have entirely reached a standstill, without any major issues neither side can achieve any breakthrough.

According to Alka and the others’ understanding, this situation has persisted for close to 200 years now.

years ago, the Demon Defense Wall would sometimes push forward, sometimes retreat. Adjustments were frequent.

Demons would sometimes expand their territory or be forced to attack and then shrink back.

After going back and forth, it completely stabilized 200 years ago as of now.

So although the port city is tense, it hasn’t reached a ridiculous level of tension.

After listening to Alka’s words, the few people nodded.

The current front line isn’t intense, they can wait one or two months before going, then they can better understand the situation on both sides.

Meanwhile, they’ll gather more information here, so when they get to the front lines, they can gather more intelligence.

After all, the descendant of the Saralan Empire King and Grefar are at the front lines.

These are their targets for seeking information.

After the meal and drink, Chadite handed over some maps she collected today to Alka.

”Some maps are outdated, but just current situations, and there are maps of desolate areas.

These few maps are drawn by adventurers depicting areas occupied by demons.”

Chadite collected many maps today, totaling dozens in various sizes.

Seeing these maps, Alka immediately got excited, taking the maps he ran to the captain’s room to look carefully.

The others didn’t follow, each did their own things, not interrupting each other.

Alka reviewed each map in the captain’s room.

Some maps, as Chadite said, were outdated and didn’t show any light points.

But half of the maps displayed various light points.

Among them, Alka discovered a red point on the map within a demon territory.
