Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 262: Chapter 170: Lava Attack_3

Why is this happening?

Could it be a mistake?

ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!

Before the thought could fully form, a sky-shattering roar erupted from the island.

Everyone on the ship immediately turned to look.

The previously calm crater erupted with unusual suddenness. However, no lava flowed from the vent. Fiery red liquid shot out from the vent like a fountain, reaching an astonishing height. Thick black smoke drifted out, obscuring the fiery red magma; only red raindrops could be seen falling. Flames continuously spread from the edges, and red liquid trailed down the volcano’s slopes. Then came violent tremors; the entire island trembled, a sensation clearly felt by those on the shore. But such a roar didn’t seem like something a volcano would make. Regardless, this display urged them to leave quickly.

”Quick, start the boat! We have to go, the volcano’s about to erupt,” Akka said, then waved his hand. The canvas dropped, and Pororo immediately took the helm.

The ship quickly left the shore, everyone involuntarily staring at the volcano on the island. Thick smoke surged towards the sky, its volume even more immense than the magma that had erupted moments before. It was like a street-side fire hydrant suddenly smashed open, a massive surge of water gushing out—even more exaggerated than the earlier fountain-like eruption.

Would a volcanic eruption be this intense? Alka had never seen such a thing. He felt it was overly exaggerated, even absurd.

They watched as magma shot and danced through the sky, falling like raindrops. The falling range almost covered the entire island.

No ordinary volcano erupts like this. This is absurd.

”Will the magma reach us?” Jason asked, watching the erupting magma, unable to resist commenting. The eruption reached an unbelievable height, and he had a persistent feeling it might fly toward them.

Still panicked, Juanlu couldn’t help but retort, ”How could it? With that eruption arc, there’s no way it could reach us here!”

However, just as he finished speaking, the magma in mid-air suddenly coalesced. It traced an arc and shot straight toward them.

Damn!

Watching the spectacle, Alka finally understood why there had been no obstruction earlier. He hurriedly waved his hand, controlling the Spells on the ship and maximizing all their effects. The Spells on the sails and mast lit up, gathering wind power to billow the sails. The sails then automatically adjusted positions to maximize wind power. The Spells at the ship’s edge also lit up, quickly controlling the surrounding ocean currents to propel the vessel. Instantly, the ship beneath them surged forward, rapidly leaving the island.

However, the massive ball of magma in the sky, resembling a serpentine Element, charged at them. Like a meteor, it crashed down rapidly, with thick smoke trailing behind.

Clearly, someone was controlling it.

Everyone on the ship couldn’t help but glance at Jason.

”Why are you looking at me? I was just saying. Who knew it would actually come over?”

Ignoring them, Alka quickly said, ”It must be the creature guarding the Treasure. I don’t know why it didn’t attack us earlier. I’m not sure why it’s making its move now, but we’re in trouble. Prepare for battle!”

He had been wondering why there was no enemy, despite the warnings, but now it had finally appeared. To acquire the Treasure, this time, confrontation was mandatory. Moreover, the enemy is at most at the Three Spirals level, within their manageable range. Just, its size is somewhat too large.

The concentrated molten serpent from the sky plunged into the sea, sending up clouds of thick white steam. Yet, upon entering the sea, the magma didn’t immediately cool into stone. Unaffected by the water, it moved across the surface, chasing after them.

As expected. When Alka had previously scouted the volcano, he’d felt something was off about the magma. Who ever heard of magma behaving like oil? So that’s what it was.

However, through the telescope, he could see its exterior was enveloped in an oil-like Liquid Energy Magma. Its core, however, was still ordinary molten rock.

”Molten Fire Serpent? This should be a Molten Fire Serpent!” Lucilia, perched on Alka’s shoulder, seemed to recall something and quickly said. ”It’s an Energy entity dwelling within lava. They are powerful and ageless, with adults reaching the Third Stage!”

But this one in front of them is clearly not that powerful.

Obvious panic appeared on everyone’s faces. After all, this was a Third Stage creature.

Alka quickly said, ”It’s only at the Three Spirals level. I can sense it.”

But being a lava creature, now at sea, this isn’t its main battlefield. It’s ours.

He quickly turned to Julia. ”Julia, use the Treasure!”

Hearing Alka, Julia acted without delay, quickly opening the box at her feet. Under her control, the blue Treasure Pearl floated up again, and the surrounding temperature suddenly plummeted. The intense Coldness spread, and an icy wind instantly swept across the warmer sea region. The entire process unfolded swiftly; the Treasure was rapidly impacting the surrounding environment.

The Treasure Pearl, on its base, floated by Julia’s left hand. A translucent Ice Blade manifested in her right, which she then swung fiercely toward the distance. The attack itself didn’t emit formidable Coldness, yet under the Treasure Pearl’s enhancement, it seemed considerably amplified. The distant sea surface froze completely, the ice swiftly spreading forward, forming numerous ice pillars that jutted upward. Each ice pillar reached five to six meters in height and was extremely lethal.

Especially to such gigantic creatures.

The spreading ice hastily reached the Molten Fire Serpent, and one ice pillar pierced through its body. Then the ice pillar melted. The strike had indeed penetrated it. A segment of the Molten Fire Serpent’s body froze solid; its heat vanished, and it transmuted into dark stone. The outer, oil-like Liquid Energy Magma lost its effectiveness in that section and began to converge on the unaffected parts of its upper and lower body.

Abandoning the petrified segment, the Molten Fire Serpent pressed on, seemingly not seriously harmed. Its mouth gaped wide, hissing ceaselessly. It raised its head as if to spit and began spewing one Magma Fireball after another toward them.
