Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 259: Chapter 169 Chef_3

”No, no, no, you saved me. How could I accept your gift? Let me take care of the food during our voyage together.” He then picked up the meat he was holding and said, ”I’ll use this to prepare the first delicious dish. Let me see how to handle it.”

Hearing Juanlu’s words, Alka wasn’t in a hurry and simply nodded.

It suited their intentions perfectly, as it also gave them a chance to see the true level of Juanlu’s culinary skills and whether he was worth the effort and consideration to keep around.

After everyone finished breakfast, they all headed to the deck.

Alka brought out the steel cables he had made yesterday from the captain’s cabin.

Seeing the steel cables Alka was carrying on his back, Pororo directly took them and held them effortlessly. Only then did Alka turn to the others and say, ”Today will be the same as yesterday. Pororo, you stay here and guard the ship. The rest of you, come with me.”

Pororo nodded and placed the steel cables back onto Alka’s back.

Watching Juanlu, who was about to stay on the ship with Pororo, Alka thought for a moment and said, ”Juanlu, would you like to join us and experience it?”

Hearing Alka’s words, Juanlu looked at them in surprise and then pointed at himself.

”Is it okay? But I’m not very strong; I’m only a One Spiral, and I don’t have the relevant knowledge or experience. Won’t I just hold you back?”

Though he said that, everyone could hear the excitement in Juanlu’s voice.

During a casual chat with Jason this morning, he had learned that they were a Treasure Hunting Team.

And although he was only a One Spiral, having sailed for so long and traveled far and wide, he could still sense certain things from Alka and the others. There isn’t a single person in this group he could afford to provoke. Even that delicate-looking young girl could probably send him flying with a single punch.

But for a man, even one in his thirties, the words ”treasure hunting” still held a powerful allure.

Now that Alka and the others had invited him, if he missed this chance, it would be unbearable; he might regret it for the rest of his life. It’s treasure hunting! How interesting!

Not to mention, the very reason he could continue sailing and traveling the seas at his age was because he possessed a certain adventurous spirit.

Hearing this, Alka chuckled, waved his hand dismissively, and said, ”It’s no problem. This trip is very safe. If you don’t want to come, we won’t force you. I was just asking.”

Since Alka put it that way, Juanlu showed a somewhat expectant smile and nodded.

”Then I’ll be troubling you all.”

He then followed them.

Jason, who was nearby, leaned in and whispered to Alka, ”Why did you suddenly decide to let a stranger you only met yesterday join us? That’s not like you.”

In Jason’s view, Alka was generally a cautious person. Suddenly inviting a stranger he’d known for only a day to join their activities was out of character. Even though this stranger posed no threat to them whatsoever, it was still odd and didn’t fit Alka’s usual way of doing things.

No sooner had he asked than he seemed to think of something. He then questioned, ”You’re not... thinking of asking him to join us, are you?”

He had been busy helping Juanlu get settled aboard last night and hadn’t heard Alka’s conversation with the others. He also knew Alka had been thinking of recruiting more people, and they sometimes helped look out for suitable candidates. However, they hadn’t come across anyone suitable on their journey so far. Juanlu seemed like a decent option.

Hearing Jason’s guess, Alka nodded directly and asked in a low voice, ”Well? Do you think it’s feasible?”

”Of course, it’s feasible! In fact, it’s more than great! If it works out... You weren’t around this morning, but when he gave me a demonstration, he personally cooked a little something. That flavor...” As he spoke, Jason couldn’t help but shake his head, seemingly still lost in the memory of the taste.

If that happened, he could finally escape the kitchen, hand the position over to someone more suitable, and get to eat delicious food at every meal! Naturally, he was incredibly willing; he even wished it would happen sooner.

It seemed his teammates had no objections to this; in fact, they were even hoping it would happen quickly.

It all depended on Juanlu’s intentions. However, they definitely couldn’t try to recruit him so quickly; after all, they were practically strangers. Who knew if he even had any interest in joining them? First, they needed to let the man understand their activities and their typical work. Furthermore, they had to demonstrate sufficient strength of their own. After making a good impression, it would be best to make such an offer when they were about to part ways. This would have a higher success rate. This was also why Alka had suddenly invited this stranger, whom he’d known for only a day, to join their activity.

Now that it was confirmed he only possessed the strength of a One Spiral, any potential danger he might pose was negligible.

「...」

And so, the group, with a curious-looking Juanlu in tow, arrived at the summit of the snow mountain.

Feeling the intense heat from the surroundings, Juanlu glanced down into the volcanic vent and immediately pulled his head back.

He didn’t know what Alka and his group were doing here. Could any Treasure really be found in a place like this? But since he didn’t understand, he naturally kept his mouth shut and just watched attentively from the side.

At this time, a faint pink mist emerged from Alka, enveloping his entire body. Then, the mist vanished.

Alka was still Alka; there was no apparent change. But his true self had already entered the Dream Realm.

At this moment, the Alka in the physical world nodded to Julia beside him.

The box at Julia’s feet opened, and a blue Treasure Pearl floated out.

As Magic Power was infused into the Treasure Pearl, it emitted a dazzling blue light, and the surrounding temperature plummeted.

A cool breeze swept over, and Juanlu couldn’t help but give a couple of refreshing shivers. In such a scorching place, a sudden blast of cold wind was indeed incredibly refreshing.

Is this some kind of Magic Item? Gazing at the Magic Treasure Pearl before Julia, Juanlu couldn’t help but think, This must be an incredibly powerful Magic Item.

After all, he was merely a One Spiral; moreover, he had never seen Treasures except on the rare occasions he had touched them. It would be very difficult for him to recognize that it was a legendary Treasure.

Julia controlled it carefully, allowing frost to cover Alka’s body.

This type of frost, when used on others, wouldn’t harm the person it coated. After all, the frost itself was essentially a physical manifestation of the special abilities unleashed by the Treasure.

A seemingly thick layer of frost enveloped him, transforming Alka entirely into what looked like a frozen statue.
