Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 190: Chapter 146 Sifus and Jack_3

”First, he needed a young body. You have the bloodline of his descendants, making you very suitable, but you were too young at the time.

”Second, because you are my son. He occupied my body, which, I believe, affected his soul to some extent. Entering your body would have been easier for him to control.

”Third, there was the Holy Mother’s Curse. He used my body to kill Lisha, so the Curse naturally fell upon me, not him.

”But it was obvious this trickery was easily discovered by the Holy Mother. Although the Curse was on me, it inadvertently cursed Jack as well.”

His expression when he attempted to take you with him back then is amusing to recall.

At this, a satisfied smile appeared on Sifus’s face.

Thank the Holy Mother.

He couldn’t help but cross his hands in the Dream Realm, offering a prayer to the Holy Mother.

Then he told Alka the specifics of the Curse.

”This Curse turns my body into a prison for souls, confining both Jack’s soul and mine within this body, with no escape, HAHAHA!”

Upon hearing this, Alka understood.

To a normal person, such a thing might not even be considered a Curse at all. After all, what normal person would want their soul to leave their body?

But for Jack, who had occupied Sifus’s body, it was a Nightmare.

He was trapped within this body, unable to escape, forced to continually fight Sifus for control.

The body can bring changes to the soul. And if the body becomes a Toucher, it can also enhance the soul.

Thus, Sifus’s soul gradually grew stronger, and he began to contest and battle Jack’s soul within his own body.

At this moment, Sifus looked at Alka and heaved a heavy sigh.

”If you hadn’t left the Island, if you had stayed on Golden Wheat Island and the surrounding areas, living well under the Holy Mother’s protection, how wonderful that would have been.

”If you hadn’t become a Toucher, none of this would have happened, and you could have lived in peace and safety forever.”

He said this while staring at Alka, his words seeming to multiply as he spoke more and more.

”Jack, that bastard, had long been prepared to leave this sea area. But for some reason, he sensed your chain extinguishing, only for it to be restored an instant later. That’s how he noticed you.

”He decided to try his luck here. Not long after, he sensed that you had become a Toucher, so he sped up his actions.

”Although the body became a cage, once he successfully left this sea area, the Holy Mother’s influence would lessen.

”He could then enter your body through a ritual, as you were still linked by the chain—the perfect medium.

”He could even thoroughly cleanse your soul before entering your body, avoiding the kind of struggle he has with me in his current one.

”You became his only choice.”

After the visual demonstrations and Sifus’s detailed explanation, Alka fully understood the entire situation and the reasons behind it.

So, my mother didn’t find the Treasure through the usual methods. And I, by following the usual methods, was supposed to find the cursed Silver Coin. In the end, my past self, seeking treasure, found that cursed coin. It was because I died from the cursed Silver Coin, and then my current self ’crossed over,’ that Jack noticed me. Because I suddenly died, and then came back to life. When he noticed me, it wasn’t long before he realized I had become a Toucher. He also saw that I had left Golden Wheat Island and was active outside. This gave him the chance to catch me. So he came without hesitation. That’s what led to the series of events that followed. The entire situation is completely clear now, laid out before me.

”Alright, child, it’s time to go.”

Hearing his father’s words, Alka looked at him and nodded.

Looking at Sifus, Alka stepped forward, opened his arms, and gave him a tight hug.

Sifus gently patted Alka’s back.

Afterward, Alka was pushed out of the bubble.

Floating in the mist, Alka stared at the bubble for a moment, then turned and flew back towards his own Dream Realm.

Inside the bubble, Sifus sat there, a smile forming on his face.

”HAHAHAHAHA...

”Jack, you bastard, your end is near! HAHAHAHA! Lisha, wait just a bit longer, I’m coming.”

As he laughed, tears flowed down his face in the dream.

Thinking of Alka’s actions, he couldn’t help but smile again. Even though he was angry about Alka’s choices, he also felt proud of them. They represented Alka’s growth. The stone that had weighed on his heart couldn’t help but shatter.

He lay in the wheat field, quietly staring at the blue sky and white clouds above.

...

「At this moment, Alka returned to his own Dream Realm.」

He controlled his physical body to float upward, swapping places with the illusory body on the bed.

The figure sitting on the bed opened his eyes.

Alka couldn’t help but rub his temples. The sheer amount of information he had just received was overwhelming, and he needed to sort through his thoughts.

He kept replaying what his father had told him, organizing each piece of information.

First, I need to package the information about the Treasure, as well as the abilities and arrangements of the enemy pirates, and hand it over to the Church.

Then, I need to experiment with a curse to see if the illusory body can withstand the chain’s Curse.

Finally, I need to make preparations.
