Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 161: Chapter 137 Hand of Precision

The shock of soon obtaining the Treasure left Alka somewhat unsettled.

After conversing with the two, and as his emotions fully settled, rational thoughts gradually began to return.

Following some of their suggestions, he started to think seriously. Many things indeed became clear to him at once.

His only concern had been Julia. However, once he possessed the Treasure, there would be no need to worry about her, unless her strength wasn’t suppressed at all.

The one among them who understood the Treasure the most was undoubtedly Lucilia, who came from a remarkable family during her lifetime. The knowledge and information acquired from this family surpassed Alka’s and Chadite’s by far. For example, their understanding of the Treasure was minimal. Much of Alka’s current knowledge about the Treasure stemmed from previous conversations with Lucilia.

She had explained that when Alka held the Treasure, he might not be able to unleash some of its powerful abilities immediately, but the surging power within it would be transmitted into his body. If it were an ordinary person, the impact of this surging power would instantly activate the dormant Magic Circuits within their body, allowing them to become a Touched One and subsequently enter another world. This was a process Alka himself had experienced; he had merely touched it lightly at the time. When he woke up, the Treasure was no longer before him.

If one were already a Touched One, Lucilia had said, the moment they held it, the Magic Power from the Treasure would elevate their strength. Three Spirals was a fundamental level; the Treasure could easily elevate the one holding it to this tier. To quote Lucilia, Magic Power would enhance the person touching it to the utmost limit of their physique. To put it in more specific terms, it might elevate the person by several Spirals, depending on their constitution. Normal human physique is enhanced according to changes in Spirals; each added layer of Spiral elevates the physique. This makes it easier to accommodate the body’s Magic Power and control it more effectively. Generally speaking, the physique can bear limits exceeding the current internal Spirals. Hence, the phenomenon of strength enhancement upon touching the Treasure occurs. The reason a Touched One can be elevated to Three Spirals is that the strength enhancement from becoming a Touched One can definitely withstand Three Spirals. As for why it can’t reach Four Spirals, it’s because that is already another stage. The leap between stages is enormous. To the physique of a person in the second stage, there is no essential difference between Three Spirals, One Spiral, or even someone who has just become a Touched One.

So Alka’s previous worries were actually unnecessary; once he could unlock the box, he would naturally be the first to hold the Treasure.

The Treasure was unassuming; before being activated, it was impossible to identify it as a Treasure by sight alone. Only by touching it could one know. Of course, another possibility was that the Treasure’s appearance itself gave the impression that it was far from an ordinary object. But normal people wouldn’t think along those lines.

After their conversation, Lucilia re-entered the Magic Mirror in Alka’s neck.

Chadite’s expression also appeared somewhat excited. Holding the Treasure meant she wouldn’t necessarily have to confront Alka’s father, but she would certainly be qualified to rescue her own father. The last time she had obtained specific information was two months ago; at that time, her father wasn’t dead, merely imprisoned.

Holy Mother, please protect him.

Alka saw Chadite suddenly cross her hands. Knowing what she was worried about, he couldn’t help but pat her shoulder reassuringly.

”Then let’s head back now. I need to study that brass arm first and figure out how to create the key to unlock the box.”

Chadite nodded and followed Alka as they began to head back.

”You received a revelation from the Holy Mother again this time. Was that the only one?” Chadite asked curiously. This was also a way to divert her own attention; otherwise, she felt she would surely give herself away. She didn’t quite understand such matters, but the revelations Alka had received before hadn’t been just a single image.

Upon hearing Chadite’s words, Alka’s mind involuntarily replayed the other image he had seen in that pitch-black space.

The broken chain on the inner wrist of his father’s right hand... At this thought, he raised his own left hand.

His left wrist also bore a broken chain. If the tattoos on the inner wrists of both hands were aligned, they would form a complete chain. He was now certain this chain was his father’s doing. For it to be imprinted on his hand, no matter how he thought about it, it couldn’t be a good thing. He just didn’t know what harm it might bring him. Even though it was a revelation from the Holy Mother, it was still ambiguous. However, it also served as a warning to him. If a confrontation with his father was inevitable, he absolutely had to figure out the significance of this chain. Otherwise, he would be at a disadvantage from the very start. The unknown breeds danger.

Thinking of this, Alka said aloud, ”This chain tattoo is broken.”

Hearing Alka’s words, Chadite hurriedly walked a few steps to his side, looking at the tattoo on his arm.

”The other image I saw was on my father’s right hand—he has the same tattoo, the other broken segment of the chain.”
