Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 1362: Chapter 1362: Willing to Face It Together

Actually, Janelle Mills’s mind was also in turmoil.

”Is it?” Trevor locked his gaze on her, wanting to know her true thoughts.

”Definitely not,” Janelle Mills averted her eyes, then lowered them again and said firmly, ”I won’t go on any more blind dates unless you kill me and carry my corpse there!”

Trevor looked at her with a hint of pain, as if he saw the sadness in her heart, but upon hearing her words, he was also quite happy.

”Don’t worry, I will clear things up!” Janelle Mills bravely lifted her gaze, thinking too much made her head hurt, ”I won’t waste your time any longer, I’ll handle everything so it won’t trouble you anymore.”

Listening to this, Trevor wasn’t happy. What was she going to do? Distance herself?

Their eyes met, his gaze dark and deep, ”Janelle, actually...”

Just then, Janelle Mills’s phone rang, interrupting Trevor’s unfinished words.

Her eyes flickered as she took out her phone and saw it was her mother calling, staring at the caller ID dumbfounded.

Trevor also saw the name on the screen, ”Answer it.” He said to her.

Janelle Mills felt overwhelmed and annoyed inside; her parents’ issues were already affecting her.

With Trevor waiting, she finally picked up the call, ”...”

”Which floor?” Carlotta Sterling’s cold voice came through, ”I’m downstairs at the restaurant.”

The girl’s chest tightened suddenly, raising her eyes to meet Trevor’s gaze!

Because the room was very quiet, even though it wasn’t on speaker, Trevor heard Janelle’s mother’s voice, which was a bit icy.

Before the girl could speak, he gently replied, ”Auntie, we are on the 58th floor, first room on the left after exiting the elevator. I’ll meet you at the door.”

Carlotta hung up without responding.

Janelle Mills clutched her phone nervously, a sense of panic in her heart, ”Trevor, I...”

”It’s okay,” he had already handed the company’s matters over to Simon for the evening, ”Facing it together is better than facing it alone. You sit down first.”

Saying this, he stepped towards the door.

In his mind, he thought that her leaving her mother alone confirmed how much Janelle cared about him.

She did not stand him up.

Janelle Mills closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and bit her lip. Given her mother’s personality, it was hard to imagine what would happen.

Yet she seemed unable to stop any of it with her capabilities.

It felt so awkward that family matters might be exposed to Trevor! Was he going to get dragged into her parents’ war too?

To prevent her father’s call from coming through and making things worse, she set her phone to silent.

Soon, Trevor saw the elevator doors open at the entrance and saw Janelle’s mother stepping out, her expression somewhat cold.

”Hello, Auntie,” Trevor spoke warmly, polite and courteous, ”Please come in.”

Carlotta glanced at him, walking over in her high heels, her mood written all over her face, not hiding it in the slightest.

Carlotta walked past Trevor and directly entered the suite.

She was very angry about her daughter’s abrupt departure! Her daughter being with Trevor meant standing on Nathan Mills’s side.

That was unacceptable for Carlotta!

She had raised her daughter with great effort!

Janelle Mills stood by the dining table, watching her mother’s unfriendly demeanor, and quietly greeted, ”Mom.”

Trevor also came in, noticing the table full of dishes, gentlemanly saying, ”Let’s all sit down and chat while we eat. Anyway, I’ve cleared my schedule for tonight, no rush to leave.”

These words were directed at Janelle’s mother.

Carlotta placed her bag down, sat in the chair, and looked up at him, ”That’s perfect, I have some things to say to you tonight. To sum it up in one sentence, I don’t agree with the two of you being together.”
