Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 1359: Chapter 1359: This Call Couldn’t Have Come at a Worse Time

”What question? You can ask now! Just don’t wait to ask in front of Trevor.” Janelle Mills was particularly afraid her mother wouldn’t follow the usual rules, ”Whatever I know, I’ll tell you everything!”

”Of course, I won’t ask him directly,” Carlotta Sterling said, ”That’s why I’m driving there myself. I just want to get some information from you.”

The mother and daughter took the elevator downstairs.

Actually, Janelle also had something she wanted to explain, ”Tonight it’s just a simple dinner, don’t ask too many questions, it’ll just be awkward, and it’s not time for a formal family meeting yet.”

”I know.” Carlotta thought, as the parent’s side, there are still questions that need to be asked.

”Mom.” Out of the elevator, Janelle proactively linked arms with her, reminding her again, ”Trevor and I haven’t been dating for long, so you don’t need to discuss deep topics, it’s not time yet.”

Carlotta, however, told her, ”As an elder, I have my measures, but whether it’s dating or marriage, as your mother, there are things I need to explain to him, it’s out of love for you.”

”Huh??” The girl was startled, ”Explain what? Now it’s all about free love. Parents don’t worry much; if we think it’s suitable, that’s enough.”

Getting in the car, Carlotta started the engine and asked her, ”Does he have any past relationships? I couldn’t find anything on Baidu, was it deliberately erased?”

”He doesn’t, right?” She didn’t know either; she wasn’t really Trevor’s girlfriend, how would she know about his past?

”He doesn’t, right?” Carlotta emphasized the word ’right,’ her questioning eyes falling on her daughter again, ”You don’t even know about his past? Has he had any girlfriends? How many? You know men never forget their first love, right?”

”No, no, he doesn’t.” Janelle was already not looking forward to tonight’s dinner because she was worried things might go wrong, ”He has no past relationships!” She promised confidently, she was guessing.

Carlotta started the car, asked her daughter for the restaurant address, and opened the navigation, unable to resist commenting, ”Quite sincere, choosing such a nice place, this dinner at least costs a hundred thousand.”

Janelle became increasingly uneasy, wondering if Trevor was being this formal? She felt indebted to him!

Her right eyelid kept twitching, giving her a feeling that something bad was about to happen.

Until the phone ringing in her palm made her freeze, thinking it was Trevor calling, but when she looked down, it was actually her father!

Instinctively, she refused to answer, and before she could mute the phone, Nathan Mills called again.

”Who is it? Why aren’t you answering?” Carlotta drove, glancing at her, ”What are you hiding from me?”

”It’s my dad...”

Janelle admitted softly, holding the ringing phone, ”I’m afraid answering will spoil your mood, but I promise you, I haven’t told him about Riventhal! This is the first call.”

”Answer!” Why so much talking? Carlotta instructed as she was driving, ”Turn on the speaker.”

The ringtone continued.

Janelle took a deep breath, deciding not to think too much, her finger slid over to accept the call, ”Hello, Dad.” She turned on the speaker.

”You came to Riventhal?” Nathan Mills asked excitedly, ”When did you arrive?”

Janelle was happy to hear this, she glanced at her mother, as if saying, see, I wasn’t lying to you?

Carlotta listened with a cold face, ears perked.

She heard her daughter answer, ”Just arrived, how did you know?”

”When did you and Trevor start seeing each other?” The middle-aged man asked with a chuckle, ”Your Uncle Dalton called me, said you two are together, is it true?”

”Yes,” Janelle didn’t want to discuss romance matters, all full of lies, feeling guilty for lying.

”Dad is really happy!”

Right when Janelle wanted to interrupt, she heard her dad laugh heartily, ”How about it? Isn’t the boy your dad introduced excellent? Marriage is something you must listen to dad!”

Hearing this, Carlotta’s expression changed as she drove, slamming her foot on the brakes!

The car suddenly came to a halt by the roadside!

Due to inertia, the seatbelt-bound Janelle’s body lurched forward heavily, the phone almost flew out of her hand amid the call.
