Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 1334: Chapter 1334: The Relentless Mom

The two of them took a walk around the neighborhood. The facilities were well planned, and they admired the pleasant scenery while chatting about their future plans.

Like brothers or friends, these two busy people also relished this rare leisure time.

They talked as they walked...

Trevor remembered Ethan. It had been a while since he last visited him in the hospital, and he figured he should make time to see him.

”Trevor,” Julian turned his gaze to ask, ”Do you have a girlfriend?” He remembered that two years ago, Trevor didn’t have one.

Trevor turned to smile and said, ”No, I don’t.”

”Doesn’t your dad push you about it? You’re not young anymore.” Julian, with his good nature, chuckled, ”My family is quite anxious. They’ve even started setting up blind dates for me.”

”What? From your tone, you seem not opposed?”

”I’m not getting any younger.” Julian, at 35, was well aware. ”Managing the company keeps me really busy, and I haven’t met any suitable women around me.”

He said, ”The ones my parents introduce are surely well-vetted by them. I’ll see how I feel, and if the feeling is good, I’ll try dating them. I don’t believe in love at first sight; that’s a fairy tale. Marriage requires mutual adjustment.”

He was very laid-back and calm, quite down-to-earth.

The things he said seemed like those of someone with stories to tell.

Trevor, with a gentle demeanor, gazed out to the distant horizon, ”Everything depends on fate.” He had no say in matters of the heart, as he had no experience to share.

Unlike Anton Miller, who had countless flirtations.

Janelle received a call from her mother and immediately gave her the hotel address.

”What? You’re really staying at a hotel? Did your dad arrange it?” Carlotta was angry, ”Nathan Mills has countless properties in Riventhal!”

”It wasn’t arranged by my dad,” the girl quickly explained. ”I came to Riventhal without my dad even knowing! I didn’t even call him! Why do you never believe what I say?”

”Fine, fine, fine, don’t bother coming to pick me up. I’ll take a cab to the hotel myself! Janelle Mills, you wait for me! Don’t even think about fooling me again!” said the middle-aged woman on the other end of the phone, not joking at all. ”If I don’t see you there, I’ll kill your dad!”

Before Janelle could even protest, Carlotta hung up.

”I...” the girl sat down on the sofa and sighed helplessly, ”Women are the most unreasonable, it seems this saying holds some truth.”

Half an hour later, the doorbell rang, Carlotta had arrived!

Janelle took a deep breath, made thorough preparations, and got up to open the door, ”Hi~ Sister Sterling~” she said with a big smile.

”Why are you staying at a hotel?” Carlotta came in with a stern face, casting her eyes around, ”Are you here alone?”

”Mm-hmm, I’m alone!”

”But I just inquired downstairs and found you didn’t book a hotel room!” Carlotta’s eyes locked on her.

Janelle nodded and gave her a thumbs-up, thinking, Sister Sterling is really astute!

Then she quickly took the suitcase from her hand, ”Let me put your luggage away first!”

Before her daughter could explain, Carlotta stood still, crossed her arms, and asked, ”I also found out that the room is registered under the name Simon. Now tell me, who is Simon?”

Facing her mother’s sharp gaze, Janelle didn’t even dare to think of lying.

”Actually, there’s something I was just about to tell you!” Janelle put down the suitcase and walked to the window, casually picking up a teacup as she passed the coffee table, ”I came to Riventhal to meet my boyfriend, which is why I’m here!”

After she spoke, she took a sip of water.

Carlotta watched her daughter’s back, unable to see her face and unable to tell whether she was lying.

Her lack of shock showed that Carlotta didn’t believe her words at all.

”Oh really? Is it Simon?” Carlotta’s lips curled up slightly, ”Then call him now, have him come over to see me immediately, and bring his ID.”

Given her daughter’s personality, Carlotta was more inclined to believe she might have randomly dragged a guy off the street, asking him to provide his ID to check into a hotel room, just to try to fool her relentless mother.
