Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 1316: Chapter 1316: Vera Ford’s Embarrassed Escape

Vera Ford’s chest tightened; even from a distance, she could sense her panic.

Because Trevor had warned her before.

And now, his eyes were deep and dark, with a trace of sharpness hidden within.

Because of what Cecilia Dunn said just now, everyone around them started looking at Vera with strange eyes, pointing and discussing her. She looked around, feeling extremely uneasy in an instant.

”Trying to steal someone else’s boyfriend?”

”How shameless.”

”I heard the guy doesn’t even like her.”

Vera felt humiliated, exceptionally angry.

But being surrounded by enemies, she knew that if she didn’t retreat now, the consequences would be unimaginable. She might even get attacked.

Jocelyn Morgan, a little woman with a fierce disposition.

Thus, even though she was resentful, she just glared hard at Jocelyn and then at Cecilia, picked up the shoe that had been knocked off her foot, and swiftly left!

”Did you remember what I said?!” Cecilia’s emotions were still high, shouting at her retreating figure, ”Don’t steal other people’s boyfriends again in the future!”

Vera didn’t respond, and Cecilia wanted to chase after her, but was stopped by the security guard.

”That’s enough, be mindful of the impact in public places!”

”Why can’t I teach a bad person a lesson?! I’m upholding justice! Besides, you guys don’t even care about this kind of thing! Let me go!” Cecilia clamored.

Trevor was watching coldly, his handsome face stern, eyes fixed on Vera’s embarrassing retreat.

His thin lips pressed into a straight line, the aura around him somewhat chilly.

Cecilia, blocked by security, was still emotional! Watching Vera leave, she was unwilling!

Jocelyn snapped back to reality, took a few steps past Trevor, quickly arriving in front of Cecilia, ”Cecilia! That’s enough.”

Trevor was slightly stunned when he saw her.

Cecilia turned her gaze abruptly, looking at her in astonishment, ”Jocelyn, are you planning to let her go?” Her emotions calmed a bit.

”That’s enough.” Jocelyn lowered her voice, ”I don’t want things to get worse, Dr. Shelby already fired her.”

Trevor stood not far away, his gaze on Jocelyn’s back, his expression relaxed considerably. Having not seen her in days, he felt quite happy to see her again today.

”Let’s go.” Jocelyn whispered to her, ”Don’t let irrelevant people affect your mood.”

Cecilia also saw Trevor standing not far away, ”Wait a moment.” She whispered to Jocelyn, then moved her hand away, ”Mr. Trevino! Want to join us for dinner?!”

Jocelyn was speechless, was it appropriate to invite him?

Trevor glanced at Jocelyn, then shook his head, locking eyes with her only briefly before looking away and turning to leave.

Watching Trevor’s tall figure depart, Jocelyn felt strange inside too, but there was nothing she could do; she couldn’t let the misunderstandings deepen.

Trevor understood that he wasn’t very welcome, and he also understood Jocelyn’s desire to keep her distance from him.

Cecilia looked at Trevor’s retreating figure, then at her friend beside her, ”What’s going on with you guys?”

”Cecilia, there’s something I have to tell you.” Jocelyn, linking arms with Cecilia, led her to their usual spot, ”Don’t gossip about your boss. I can tell you now, he confessed to me, and I turned him down.”

”Oh my God!” Cecilia had a rough idea already, ”Why did you reject him? He’s so outstanding! A young CEO!”

”Because I like Ian Shelby.” Jocelyn told her, ”It’s impossible to like two people at once, and you can’t just like someone because they’re outstanding.”

”Didn’t you feel even a little bit of attraction to him? Even just a tiny bit?” Cecilia, curious as ever, probed further.
