Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 1327: Chapter 1327: If It’s Not Stable, Just Go for It

After a long while, she finally put down her phone, turned around holding onto the railing, her fingers gradually tightening, and a hint of panic flashed in her eyes.

Looking at the vast river surface, Vera Ford felt extremely upset.

How was she supposed to deal with oblivious parents single-handedly?

After a long contemplation and a few minutes of hesitation, she picked up her phone to call Ian Shelby.

The familiar ringtone played, her heart was immensely tense, afraid he’d answer, yet afraid he wouldn’t.

Eventually, Ian didn’t pick up.

Vera felt a bit lost again, thinking he did it on purpose. Ian must be terribly annoyed with her now, right?

But with Dad and Mom’s relentless rural personality, how would this end?

They would definitely cause a scene at the hospital.

Providence Hospital, everything was orderly.

Ian was in a very busy state, seamlessly completing two surgeries in the morning.

Only later did he discover missed calls on his phone, from Vera and also from Vera’s mom.

He ignored Vera’s call.

But as a junior, he felt somewhat obliged to return Vera’s mom’s call, so he called back immediately.

”Ian, are you busy?” Vera’s mom’s cheerful voice came through, without a hint of blame.

”Auntie, it’s okay, I just finished.” Ian entered the office, temporarily free, still very courteous, ”Is there anything you need from me?”

”Your Uncle Ford and I have come to Riventhal, just got off the train, we plan to go to your hospital for a checkup, do you have time at noon? We want to invite Vivian, and have lunch together with the four of us?”

Ian sensed what she meant, and said, ”I have time at noon, but there’s no need to have lunch together. I made the news with your daughter a few days ago, the hospital fired her.”

”What? Made the news? What news? Fired?” Clearly, Vera’s mom wasn’t aware, her heart sank heavily, worried sick, ”What did my daughter do?”

Ian didn’t want ambiguity, answered very directly, ”I have a girlfriend now, I need to keep distance with your Vera, so there’s no need to have lunch. If you want to do a checkup, you can come to our hospital, I will arrange it, call me when you arrive.”

”What?” Vera’s mom was shocked, ”You already have a girlfriend?” It seemed the checkup wasn’t the focus, ”When did this happen? How come I haven’t heard about it?”

”Yes.” Ian emphasized again, ”I have a girlfriend now.”

”...”

Until the end of the call, Vera’s mom still hadn’t recovered, feeling as if she lost a precious treasure.

Was the Ford family too late in taking action?

Vera picked up her parents at the station and brought them back to the rented apartment.

On the way, her parents kept asking her if Ian really had a girlfriend.

”Yes, yes, didn’t I say so?” Vera was annoyed.

Vera’s mom reproached her, ”You say you lived at his place, why didn’t you try harder during that time? If you could be with Ian, you wouldn’t have to worry for the rest of your life!”

Hearing this, Vera felt even worse, ”I wasn’t thinking about whether I’d worry for the rest of my life, I like him, but what can I do if he doesn’t like me?!”

”...” Vera’s mom was speechless.

However, Vera didn’t want to vent her bad mood on her parents who came all the way.

Vera’s dad sighed, ”We’ve sent you to study for so many years, you worked hard yourself, how can happiness be so close yet slip away?”

Vera was even more speechless, ”Stop it, I have a headache.” And with excessive drinking in recent days, her mental state was not good, she remained gloomy.

”Vivian, your dad is talking to you, did you hear? What’s your attitude? You have a headache?” Vera’s mom also felt regret, ”How long has Ian been with his girlfriend? Is their relationship stable?”

If not stable, then snatch him!
