Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 1296: Chapter 1296: She Probably... Doesn’t Really Want to See You

Ian Shelby didn’t want to explain anymore.

Because any explanation would just seem like an excuse. He looked up towards the corner of the stairs, ”Please allow me to see Jocelyn, alright? I will explain everything to her clearly.”

Today, he came with sincerity, with a humble attitude, and everyone at the entrance could feel it.

He had deeply reflected on the matter too; allowing Vera Ford to enter was the start of this misunderstanding. It was his mistake.

”Who exactly do you like? I’ll ask you just one last question.” Jasmine didn’t want Jocelyn to get hurt again. ”Are you here to make peace, or to apologize? Do you have any feelings for that lady doctor?”

”I only like Jocelyn.” Ian answered without hesitation, his attitude sincere. ”I’ll explain clearly to her what happened last night, and I will make up for the harm I’ve caused, and strive to repair this relationship.”

Hailey Hale had been watching Dr. Shelby the entire time, able to sense his exhaustion and sincerity.

She thought, he must be very tired today? Physically and mentally worn out from work.

Being a doctor is really tough.

And Finn Morgan also believed Ian’s words. What relationship doesn’t have misunderstandings?

If they can explain it clearly, and communicate in time, that would be good enough.

So, Finn told him, ”Jocelyn is upstairs. She’s in a bad mood today, skipped lunch, and barely ate dinner. When she saw you coming, she turned and went upstairs. She probably... doesn’t really want to see you.”

Telling him so much was hoping he could be mentally prepared.

Ian nodded, ”Thank you.”

Then Finn stepped aside. Ian politely glanced at his uncle and aunt, stepped into the living room, and quickly headed upstairs.

He had been to Jocelyn Morgan’s room before, so he knew which one it was.

Downstairs, the Morgan family didn’t follow up, but returned to the dining room, and everyone was worried, would the conversation fall apart?

”Mom, don’t worry.” Finn saw his mother’s heavy mood, ”Falling in love is meant to be a test, that’s how you know if a partner is suitable for you.”

”Yesterday, Jocelyn invited Dr. Shelby for dinner, and she was so happy when she came back she was practically flying.” Jasmine sighed, understanding the girl’s disappointment. ”Isn’t what happened today just devastating for her?”

Hailey Hale picked up her chopsticks again, ”I believe Dr. Shelby can explain everything clearly. From the interview, that lady doctor showed a lot of issues.”

Finn also sided with his wife, ”She didn’t answer a single question from the reporters, maybe she really can’t answer, but she spoke in such vague terms, her bad intentions were obvious.”

”Dad, Mom, we all believe in Dr. Shelby’s character.” Hailey had no personal agenda; she was simply expressing her opinion. ”A genius doctor with such achievements in medicine, how could he be a jerk? That sense of righteousness alone is enough to prove his character.”

Upstairs.

Jocelyn Morgan hadn’t locked the door because she also wanted to see him, wanting to hear his explanation, waiting all day, sad all day.

Outside the door, Ian Shelby stood for a while, pressing his thin lips together, organizing his words.

He didn’t knock, but reached out, grasped the door handle, and made a decision by directly opening the door.

Jocelyn stood by the window, her eyes fixed on the doorway, watching him appear, feeling even more nervous than he did, even if she seemed very calm.

Ian came in and closed the door.

Seeing her, his weary heart felt a slight relief; she hadn’t locked the door, and that was the best attitude.

Ian gazed deeply at her. Although they had only been apart for a day, it felt like forever.

He started walking towards her.

Jocelyn stood there motionless, her mind a bit blank, images of him and Vera Ford together flashing before her eyes.

Thinking about Vera staying overnight at his place last night made her feel so jealous.

Ian stopped in front of her, reached out to grasp her shoulders, then gently pulled her into his arms.
