Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 1275: Chapter 1275: Accumulated Longing

On the comfortable private jet, Trevor and Justin Kingston lay back in their seats while Mia Lane made them some tea. ”Brother, look at how amazing you are; even someone as arrogant as William wants you to be his son-in-law.”

”That old man looks down on everyone,” Justin added. ”He’s never satisfied. Since Demi was very young, he’s been looking for her future husband.”

Trevor felt quite troubled, letting out a sigh. ”I really didn’t expect him to pull this move, in this day and age? And his daughter is only eighteen.”

”What if you didn’t get that call in time, or if I didn’t understand your situation,” Mia said, brewing the tea and glancing back at him. ”It’s hard to imagine whether you might have been forced into marriage today.”

Before Trevor could answer, Justin asked again, ”Brother, who is that girl in your bed? Why isn’t it his daughter?” This question had been bothering him.

It’s confounding!

Because it doesn’t make sense.

Trevor got a chill in his heart and explained, ”It’s not the girl in my bed, it’s... this is a long story. She’s just a friend who did me a favor.”

”Did you spend the night together?”

”... Simply shared the same room.”

”Pretending to be your girlfriend?” Mia blurted out.

Trevor explained, ”Nothing happened between us. She slept on the bed, and I slept on the sofa.”

”Does William believe that?”

”He’s half convinced, half doubtful.”

”So, does that girl like you?” Mia analyzed from a woman’s perspective, ”Otherwise, why would she agree to pretend to be your girlfriend? Moreover, she’s willing to share a room with you? Isn’t she worried about her reputation?”

Trevor didn’t mention the dramatic story of his first encounter with Janelle Mills.

He took the teacup handed by his sister, ”Curb your curiosity.” And he thanked them again for coming.

”Come on, we’re family; no need to be so polite.” Justin smiled, ”Recently, Jerry Garcia has been managing the company affairs more diligently than Finn Morgan; I think we’ve developed another capable assistant.”

Mentioning Finn Morgan, Trevor couldn’t help but think of Jocelyn Morgan.

About to return to that familiar city, maybe he would see her again...

A little anticipation, and a little disappointment.

Would it make any difference to see her?

He had already agreed to let go and wished her happiness.

While sipping tea, Trevor looked out the window, and his thoughts drifted away.

”Hubby, is Finn Morgan going back home to inherit the family business?” Mia asked softly, ”When is that happening?”

”Before the New Year, I guess.” Justin was reluctant to let go, but sometimes relationships are just that short.

He said, ”Finn is going to be a father; his father is getting older, and since he’s the only son, it’s better for him to take over the business early and put his father at ease sooner.”

”Finn is definitely capable enough to take on the responsibility.” Mia believed in him.

”Yes, he’s very smart and hardworking,” Justin praised. ”After getting married, he’s become even more responsible and is getting better and better.”

In short, Finn Morgan has really been improving, and everyone can see it.

”Meeting a good girl and entering a good marriage will make you better and better.”

Riventhal, the Morgan family home.

At dusk.

Jocelyn Morgan paced back and forth in her bedroom with her phone in hand, not receiving any messages from Ian Shelby for the entire day. What was he doing?

She listlessly wrote five thousand words of her manuscript and revised and uploaded it. She even felt too distracted to reply to reader comments.

”Is he busy?”

”But no matter how busy, he should have time to send a message, right?”

Pacing back and forth, finally gathering enough longing.

She sat cross-legged on the sofa, opened WeChat, hesitated for a long time, and finally couldn’t resist typing a few words and sending them—

”Hey, what are you up to?”
