Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 1267: Chapter 1267: His Warmth Lingers on Her

”Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to you.” Trevor, fearing she might misunderstand, hurried to reassure her.

Janelle Mills was carefully encircled in his arms, her cheek lightly resting against his warm chest, seemingly able to hear his strong, steady heartbeat.

A subtle scent emanated from Trevor, smelling particularly good... Janelle Mills was momentarily entranced.

After all, she once had a crazed infatuation with this man.

In the study, William, watching this scene unfold through surveillance, was shocked and started to doubt his own judgment.

Hugging each other? It even looked quite cozy.

Demi pursed her pink lips, hiding her sadness, ”I don’t want to watch anymore.” With that, she turned and left.

William didn’t try to stop her, letting her go.

Through surveillance, he saw Trevor’s thin lips moving, so he urgently said to his subordinate nearby, ”Quick! Turn up the volume! Let’s hear what they’re saying!”

”Sir, this is already the maximum volume.”

However, nothing could be heard.

Talking in whispers??

In the bedroom.

Trevor gently held Janelle Mills, speaking softly to her, ”I called my sister before the signal got cut off.”

”Does she know your situation?” The girl asked, shocked, ”Will she come to find you?” Knowing from the news that his younger sister is Mrs. Kingston.

Brother-in-law Justin Kingston is even a significant figure in the business world.

Even William would probably show him some respect?

”She should come.” Trevor was not very certain.

”Should?” Janelle Mills’ heart sank, ”Why should?” Her voice raised in confusion.

”Shh...” Trevor hugged her tighter, then whispered in her ear, ”Because I hadn’t finished speaking before the signal was interrupted.”

”...”

A brief silence filled the room.

”Demi’s father is just too despicable...” Janelle Mills feebly complained. She’s a girl with a sense of justice, definitely unable to understand such things, ”Can a loveless marriage really be happy?”

She sighed softly as she returned to her senses, unable to stop herself from looking up in his arms, ”If you had brought a girlfriend, this wouldn’t have happened, right?”

Trevor felt a slight pang in his heart.

She still thought Jocelyn was his girlfriend?

This reminded him of the scene on the day of the date; if he hadn’t been too abrupt, perhaps through spending time with Jocelyn, at the right moment expressing his sincere feelings, they might not have ended up together.

This embrace lasted a bit too long, long enough for William to keep staring at the surveillance screen without noticing anything amiss.

Trevor realized, too; they couldn’t keep hugging all night.

So he let go of the girl, and as expected, they saw the bedroom had only one bed!

Janelle Mills had been in Trevor’s arms for quite some time; her thoughts were now tangled up, standing in front of him, her cheeks slightly flushed, her heartbeat inexplicably chaotic, ”This...” How were they supposed to sleep like this?

”You sleep first; I’ll read a book for a while.” Trevor’s voice was gentle, his tone normal.

Far away in the study, William heard this through surveillance too.

Trevor was intentionally saying this for him to hear.

William watched him take a book from the shelf, stepping towards the window, sitting down on the sofa.

Janelle Mills stood in front of the bed, her steps seemingly fixed, the silence around was such that a pin drop could be heard, the big bed in front of her gave her immense pressure.

Alone together in a room... Unthinkable!

Although she... she liked Trevor, but... Trevor had a girlfriend!

She couldn’t sleep with him, could she??

But, if they didn’t sleep together tonight, tomorrow neither of them would be able to escape; they were already grasshoppers on a single string.

Trevor knew the pressure in her heart was immense, but standing for too long would squander the progress made.

So, he lifted his gaze, his eyes meeting hers gently, ”Janelle, if you can’t sleep, come over and sit for a while.”
