Dungeon Corpse Stacker: I Absorb Everything to Become Ominous Monarch

The acoustic charges dropped from the belly of the American gunboat did not splash into the sea like ordinary naval munitions.

Twelve titanium canisters, each ribbed with glowing sapphire hydro-stabilizers, sliced through the surface foam with high-velocity screeches. As they sank past thirty fathoms, their internal acoustic compressors began pulsing at seven thousand cycles per second. The seawater around the floating iron bastion turned cloudy, vibrating with an ear-splitting resonance that made the teeth of the surviving deck officers ache inside their gums.

General Vance did not step off his hydraulic combat frame.

High on the armored conning tower three hundred yards out, the American commander stood locked into his twenty-foot exoskeleton, his cold gray eyes tracking the bathymetric monitors mounted inside his pilot canopy. He had no intention of engaging in an honorable sword fight on a tilting deck. The tactical logic of the Pentagon was brutally simple: collapse the underwater bedrock, swallow the rogue entity in a localized abyssal whirlpool, and drag the British knight out by his collar.

”Detonation sequence in five,” Vance’s synthesized voice thundered through the gunboat loudspeakers, clipping each word with mechanical indifference. ”Arthur, abandon your blade and dive. You cannot claim an empire if your boots are drowning in mud.”

Sir Arthur Pendelton did not look toward the American gunboat.

Blood trickled steadily from the corners of the knight’s mouth, his fingers locked so tightly around the hilt of his star-metal sword that the skin across his knuckles was stretched white as parchment. The liquid silver mana coating his arm was beginning to flicker, sputtering against the damp ocean air as his biological heart hammered violently against his shattered breastplate.

”A knight of the Crown does not retreat behind an American smoke screen,” Arthur murmured, his voice hoarse, raw, yet utterly unyielding.

Arthur took a single dragging step forward, his boots sloshing through the blood and brackish water pooling across the deckplates.

”Renan,” Arthur said, lifting the nine-foot beam of liquid silver into a high execution stance. ”Vance believes numbers and machines dictate the boundaries of the world. Show me if the darkness in your blood can silence a falling star.”

Renan did not glance at the sinking acoustic canisters.

He simply lowered his left boot half an inch, sending a subtle, dense vibration through the welded hull beneath his feet straight down into the black depths of the Nero Trench.

”Thorne,” Renan whispered.

Forty fathoms below the surface, in the freezing dark where the sunlight had never touched, Shadow Commander Thorne opened his jaws in a silent, subterranean roar.

The ten-foot titan shadow spread both stone-plated arms wide, seizing the water column itself within an impenetrable localized gravity lock. The water pressure around the twelve descending American acoustic canisters did not merely increase; it multiplied fifty-fold in less than half a second.

The immense hydrostatic pressure crumpled the titanium casings like paper cups before their acoustic timers could cycle to zero.

Twelve muffled, dull thuds echoed deep beneath the ocean, their supersonic shockwaves neutralized entirely within the crushing grip of the abyssal trench. The surface did not erupt into geysers; only twelve small patches of dark, oily foam bubbled up between the floating warships, carrying the useless scrap metal of Vance’s expensive ordnance.

On the American gunboat, the warning lights on Vance’s pilot canopy shifted from amber to flashing crimson.

”Telemetry lost,” the tactical officer inside the vessel’s hull screamed over the internal comms. ”All twelve acoustic arrays were crushed by abnormal ambient pressure! The trench isn’t collapsing, General! The trench is swallowing our ordnance whole!”

Vance’s jaw tightened inside his helmet, his fingers twitching over the rotary cannon controls. ”Arm the auxiliary torpedoes immediately. Target the central deck.”

”You are too late, General,” Renan’s voice rolled across the waves, quiet yet carrying the strange, terrifying property of sounding right next to Vance’s ear.

Renan turned his full attention back to the British knight standing five paces away.

He raised his right hand, the matte-black void dagger spinning smoothly between his fingers before settling into a reverse grip. The violet lightning crackling along his forearms ceased its chaotic dancing, drawing inward until his pale skin looked like dark obsidian glass, smooth, cold, and utterly devoid of reflection.

”Your holy light burned through seventy gates, Arthur,” Renan said softly, stepping into the center of the tilted platform. ”Let us see if it survives the weight of the sea.”

Arthur exhaled a breath that smelled of copper and ozone.

He lunged.

The deck beneath Arthur’s boots disintegrated into a cloud of red-hot iron dust as the knight channeled every remaining ounce of his mortal marrow into a single, desperate sprint. The silver star-metal blade swept forward in a vast diagonal crescent, slicing through the air with a sound that tore through the mist like thunder.

It was not merely an attack; it was the final, concentrated legacy of the Silver Round, an SSS-Rank conceptual severance meant to partition reality itself along the path of the blade.

Renan did not step back. He did not attempt to divert the strike toward the steel deck again.

He drove his body straight into the teeth of the radiant arc.

His void dagger met the silver fuller with a blinding screech of metal grinding against metal. Rather than relying on simple muscular force, Renan unleashed the full density of his Monarch Core, pouring twenty thousand points of accumulated kinetic mass directly through the point of contact.

The sheer physical weight behind the parry stopped Arthur’s nine-foot blade dead in its tracks.

The air between them imploded.

The shockwave blasted outward in a perfect sphere of pressurized mist, tearing the remaining cranes, shattered lifeboats, and twisted antenna masts off the surrounding hulls and hurling them hundreds of yards into the boiling ocean.

Arthur’s eyes widened as the bones in his right forearm splintered with a series of sharp, sickening snaps. The liquid silver light coating the relic blade began to fissure, black cracks of necrotic gravity worming their way into the sacred runes along the fuller.

”Your foundation is hollow, Arthur,” Renan whispered, stepping past the locked blades until their foreheads were inches apart.

Renan’s left hand shot out like an iron vice, clamping hard around Arthur’s sword wrist.

With a cold, precise twist, Renan pivoted his hips and slammed Arthur’s arm downward across his raised knee.

The sound was like an oak beam snapping in a storm.

Arthur cried out, a ragged, strangled gasp escaping his throat as his right wrist was bent backward at an impossible ninety-degree angle. The sacred link binding his life force to the blade severed with a violent jolt of mana backlash, vomiting a fountain of white sparks from the knight’s shoulder.

The eight-foot star-metal broadsword slipped from his mangled fingers, tumbling end over end across the blood-stained deck before embedding itself deep into the iron plating.

Arthur fell to both knees, clutching his broken arm against his chest, his golden pupils fading back into dull, lifeless gray as the cold reality of defeat washed over him.

Seventy yards out on the forward deck of the central bastion, Shadow General Ignis stepped out of the ocean foam, its massive executioner broadsword resting on its armored shoulder, blocking any line of sight from the American gunboat.

On the bridge of the American vessel, General Vance stared through his armored viewport at the fallen British champion, his teeth grinding so hard the muscles in his temples bulged against his skin.

”Open fire,” Vance whispered, his hand slamming down on the main firing console. ”Raze that platform to the waterline right now!”

Before the heavy rotary kinetic cannons could cycle their barrels, Renan walked over to the embedded star-metal blade.

He wrapped his bare right hand around the hilt, pulling the legendary weapon free from the deck with a single effortless tug.

Renan rested the tip of the British relic directly against the hollow of Sir Arthur Pendelton’s throat.

Through the rain and the salt spray, Renan looked past the kneeling knight, his violet pupils fixing directly onto General Vance standing inside his metal titan across the water.

”Take one more shot, Vance,” Renan’s voice cut through the storm, cold, clear, and absolute as an iron gate slamming shut. ”And your general will be the next soul I nail to the seabed.”
