Dungeon Corpse Stacker: I Absorb Everything to Become Ominous Monarch

The sky sixty miles to the west did not flash with the familiar bloom of combustion engines. It ignited with thirty sharp pinpricks of pure, blue-white kinetic ignition.

Thirty cylindrical rods of solid depleted uranium, each twelve feet long and wrapped in dense gravitational stabilization runes, dropped from the upper stratosphere at Mach 8. General Vance had not aimed the orbital strike at the central citadel where Arthur and Renan stood locked in combat. The telemetry coordinates converged entirely on the underwater fault lines supporting the Nero Trench.

The Americans were not trying to kill Renan with the initial strike. They were trying to drop the continental shelf into the mantle, dragging thirty square miles of sovereign territory into the boiling sea.

Through the radio receiver at Renan’s lapel, Boss Victor’s voice sounded harsh, competing with the blare of sirens across Coastal Bunker Alpha.

”Impact in sixteen seconds, Sovereign,” Victor reported, the rasp of his breathing heavy against the microphone. ”Those kinetic penetrators will hit the sea surface with sixty thousand tons of concentrated kinetic energy. The basalt anchors holding the iron wall will shear off at forty fathoms.”

Renan did not shift his gaze from the twisted conning tower seventy paces away.

Amid the smoking wreckage of the dented titanium hull, Sir Arthur Pendelton pushed himself upright with slow, trembling deliberation. The star-metal broadsword served as his crutch, its silver blade scraping against the bent deckplates. Crimson blood coated the knight’s chin, dripping steadily through the cracked joints of his broken breastplate, yet the pale blue of his eyes burned with an icy, fanatical clarity.

Arthur spat a mouthful of dark bile onto the rusted iron floor.

”Vance knows how to wage an imperial war,” Arthur wheezed, his voice hoarse, each breath rattling through cracked ribs. ”A knight fights for honor, but an army fights for terrain. Even if your body can withstand the pressure of a falling mountain, your people behind that cliff will be swept away by the displacement wave.”

Renan raised his left hand toward the open sea, tapping the mental frequency that linked his consciousness to the abyss.

”Sterling,” Renan commanded, his voice steady as granite. ”Thorne.”

From the depths forty fathoms below, the response came not in words, but in the deep, grinding groan of moving tectonic plates.

Shadow Commander Thorne released his grip on the western wall of the trench. The ten-foot titan sank both stone-plated arms into the soft mud of the ocean bed, shifting twenty thousand tons of magnetic sediment directly into the path of the falling tungsten rods. Simultaneously, along the length of the three-mile floating iron wall, eighty heavy kinetic turrets swiveled seventy degrees upward, their barrels glowing with the volatile violet hue of abyssal fire.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The Iron Wall fired its second full salvo into the heavens.

Eighty shells of dense, corrupted bedrock screamed through the cloud deck, meeting the descending tungsten rods two miles above the water.

The kinetic collision did not produce fireballs. It produced an atmospheric hammer that shattered the sound barrier across a forty-mile radius. Six of the American kinetic penetrators cracked into pulverized dust under the sheer mass of the abyssal shells, their trajectories warping outward into empty ocean. Another eighteen rods were caught in the sudden, inverted gravitational well summoned by Thorne from the seafloor, dragging the tungsten spears down into the uninhabited deep-sea mud miles away from the continental anchors.

The remaining six rods struck the outer perimeter of the iron barricade, tearing through two rusted destroyers and sending plumes of superheated ocean water four hundred feet into the air.

The Iron Wall groaned under the horrific impact, its welded seams shrieking like dying beasts, but the three-mile line did not collapse. The bedrock held firm.

Arthur Pendelton watched the cloud of steam rise over the horizon, his fingers tightening around the hilt of his sword until the leather wrapping creaked.

”You manipulate the sea as if you were born beneath its waves,” Arthur whispered.

The British knight let go of the conning tower. He stepped forward onto the tilted deck, his boots finding purchase on the slick, blood-stained steel. With his left thumb, he pressed down hard on the bare, jagged edge of his broadsword, slicing his flesh wide open from palm to wrist.

Dark, rich blood poured over the silver fuller of the blade.

”By the blood of the First Round,” Arthur spoke, his voice rising in cadence, carrying an ancient, archaic melody that caused the air on the deck to hum with suffocating resonance. ”By the twelve thrones that guard the western sea. I surrender my mortal marrow to the Sovereign Oath.”

The silver broadsword absorbed the blood like parched soil.

The pale star-metal did not merely glow; it dissolved into a living, nine-foot pillar of liquid silver luminescence that wrapped around Arthur’s right arm, fusing his skin, bone, and tendon directly into the hilt. The broken fragments of his breastplate were consumed by the blinding light, reforming into a jagged cuirass of pure, crystallized holy mana that sealed his punctured lungs and cracked ribs beneath an unyielding shell of argent stone.

Arthur took a single breath, his eyes completely overtaken by white fire.

”This is the blade that severed the Dragon of Dover forty years ago,” Arthur said, the sound of his voice now layered with the echoes of eleven other unseen warriors speaking in unison from across the ocean. ”It does not cut armor, Renan. It cuts the concept of your authority.”

Arthur vanished.

There was no sound of a footstep, no gust of displaced wind.

Renan leaned his head two inches to the right.

A streak of silver light parted the air where his temple had been, cutting through a rusted steel crane eighty yards behind him without slowing down. The crane severed in two halves, the cut so microscopically clean that the top section slid off its base with absolute silence before splashing into the sea.

Arthur reappeared at Renan’s flank, the nine-foot blade of liquid holy light sweeping upward in an execution cut aimed to cleave Renan from hip to shoulder.

Renan did not attempt to catch the blade with his bare palm this time.

He could feel the spatial erosion radiating from the silver light; the weapon had surpassed physical mass, operating entirely on high-frequency severance that could erode even his Sovereign cellular density if met with a static surface.

Instead, Renan drew the void dagger resting at his lower spine.

The seven-inch blade of matte-black abyssal steel seemed insignificant against the nine-foot pillar of holy light, yet as Renan brought it up, a dense shroud of dark violet gravity wrapped around the metal, condensing the mass of an entire naval turret into the edge of a hunting knife.

CLINK!

The sound was tiny, sharp, and intensely bright.

The void dagger met the silver broadsword at a precise forty-five-degree deflection angle. Rather than stopping the strike, Renan rode the momentum, rotating his wrist to redirect Arthur’s holy severance downward into the deckplates.

The deck split open in a screaming trench of white heat, but Renan’s left fist was already moving.

He drove his bare knuckles straight into the side of Arthur’s jaw.

The crystallized holy armor around Arthur’s cheek shattered into flying shards of silver glass, the blunt force snapping the knight’s head sideways, spraying teeth and bloody mist across the rain. Yet even as his neck whipped around, Arthur’s left hand struck Renan’s chest like an iron piston, a burst of concentrated silver shockwave blasting Renan back four paces across the wet grating.

Both men stopped, five yards apart, their breaths rising like steam into the freezing gale.

Renan lowered his void dagger, his violet eyes locked onto the hairline fractures spreading across Arthur’s newly reformed chest armor. The knight was standing on sheer willpower, his internal organs burning away as the relic blade consumed his life force to maintain its radiant edge.

Arthur raised the liquid silver broadsword once more, the light flickering violently against the dark sea clouds.

”One more exchange,” Arthur murmured through broken lips, his vision darkening around the edges. ”Let us finish it, Sovereign.”

Before either could take the final step, a high-frequency acoustic whistle shrieked through the low fog from the open ocean.

A sleek, black hull breached the surface three hundred yards to the north, bearing the triangular tactical insignia of the American Hunter Division. On its forward deck, standing atop a twenty-foot hydraulic combat frame loaded with four heavy rotary kinetic cannons, stood General Vance.

The American commander’s voice boomed through the loudspeakers, flat, mechanical, and heavy with tactical finality:

”Arthur! Step clear of the platform! The USS Titan has locked twelve acoustic depth-charges on the central foundation! We are dropping the whole damn wall into the trench right now!”
