After finishing dinner, Feng Qi changed into casual clothes and left the Tiger Soul Branch Base.

He hailed a taxi and headed straight to a hotel in the northern district of Star City.

Since arriving in Star City with the Lord of the Mist, he had been staying at this hotel, waiting for an opportunity to contact the Tiger Soul Research Institute.

A moment later, he arrived at the Lord of the Mist’s room.

After pressing the button by the door, the door opened shortly thereafter.

Feng Qi followed the Lord of the Mist into the room and sat down on a nearby sofa. He then looked up at the Lord of the Mist.

The Lord of the Mist remained silent, then raised his right hand.

Blood mist began to surge from his palm, coalescing into a sphere of blood.

As the blood sphere dissipated, a green bracelet formed from swirling light hovered above his palm.

”I’ve already figured out the Miracle Bracelet’s function. Its use is tied to faith.”

”What do you mean? Explain.”

A smile appeared on the Lord of the Mist’s face as he replied to the question, ”Do you believe in the existence of deities in this world?”

”I don’t believe it. In my eyes, the Pillar God you speak of is merely a high-dimensional being, not an omnipotent deity. Even if such deities exist, I doubt they would protect mortals.”

Believers always claim to have witnessed divine miracles at specific moments, often with elaborate details: divine statues glowing, gods appearing in dreams, and so on.

But he never believed it.

If there were gods who saved people from suffering, why didn’t they appear during the Domain Invasion?

Why didn’t they intervene when domain creatures ravaged human cities, slaughtering countless lives and displacing millions?

Why do the omniscient, omnipotent, and compassionate gods of believers always vanish at crucial moments, only to perform cryptic miracles at irrelevant times?

In the end, it was the front-line soldiers who dispelled the Domain Field through bloody combat.

They built a Great Wall with their flesh and blood, charging into death in waves to defend humanity’s last bastion, and laid the foundation for the five great cities we have today.

He didn’t resent humans for their faith.

Even if gods are ethereal illusions, they remain a spiritual anchor for some in this era, offering hope and allowing them to live with a sense of purpose.

To him, the gods were merely ornaments enshrined in temples.

The true gods, in his eyes, were the pathfinders who shed blood and fought valiantly to protect Human Civilization.

With this thought, he looked up at the Lord of the Mist.

”Old Mist, why are you suddenly talking about gods? Does this have anything to do with the Miracle Bracelet?”

”Exactly,” the Lord of the Mist nodded immediately. ”I was bored these past few days and wanted to learn more about the structure of human society. So, I wandered around the northern part of the city and stumbled upon a temple. That’s when I noticed the Miracle Bracelet actually reacted...”

As the Lord of the Mist recounted the events, Feng Qi gradually understood the situation.

According to the Lord of the Mist’s account, upon entering the temple, he discovered that the Miracle Bracelet reacted to the divine statues being worshipped.

This puzzled him greatly.

So, he began investigating.

He soon discovered something peculiar: the Miracle Bracelet seemed to be able to absorb a certain form of energy from the divine statues.

This energy was entirely different from spiritual energy. It was extremely difficult to perceive and didn’t radiate any detectable fluctuations.

The Lord of the Mist began researching this energy.

He even searched the Human Mythology Collection online.

He discovered that myths described this form of energy, calling it ”faith.”

It was a pure mental power.

According to these myths, this power served as tribute to the gods, which they could consume.

The Lord of the Mist scoffed at the idea of human gods.

If humans truly had divine protection, he thought, they wouldn’t be in such a pathetic state.

However, ”faith” could be explained from a scientific perspective.

It was a special form of energy that slowly accumulated from pure mental energy. Moreover, this unique form of mental energy body couldn’t be utilized through normal energy absorption methods.

From this perspective, the Lord of the Mist began researching the Miracle Bracelet.

After numerous attempts, he finally understood how to use it.

The Miracle Bracelet’s function was to amplify oneself using faith power.

The method of use wasn’t difficult.

First, one needed to establish a divine statue for oneself. Then, a wisp of one’s consciousness and a drop of pure blood were placed within the statue.

From then on, any divine statue could absorb the faith power of those who worshipped it.

The green bracelet’s function was to summon faith power from any distance to oneself, greatly enhancing one’s abilities.

The phantom behind the humanoid leader encountered on Heijue Island was actually its ”faith body.”

Hearing the Lord of the Mist’s explanation, Feng Qi suddenly understood.

When the phantom had appeared behind the humanoid leader, its clansmen had prostrated themselves in worship. At the time, they had speculated that this might be a ritual to summon their ancestors, a form of ancestor worship.

Now, it was clear that wasn’t the case.

The humanoid leader had actually manufactured its own godhood within the tribe, siphoning the faith power of its clansmen to strengthen itself.

After understanding its capabilities, Feng Qi was somewhat surprised.

Compared to other miracle items, the Miracle Bracelet’s abilities seemed rather underwhelming, its function rather lackluster.

At this, the Lord of the Mist continued:

”By the way, during the testing phase, I discovered something peculiar. When I tried to worship my own divine statue, I found a secondary connection forming between my mental consciousness and my body. I could even channel power to myself through the statue.”

”What do you mean by a secondary connection with your body?”

”It was I who used the Miracle Bracelet to channel power into the divine statue. The statue then used the bracelet’s power to transmit that portion of power back to me. The Miracle Bracelet acts as a relay, allowing it to transmit power and abilities to believers who have established a spiritual connection with the statue.”

”That’s somewhat similar to how gods grant power in human mythology.”

After hearing the Lord of the Mist’s explanation, Feng Qi suddenly understood.

From the Lord of the Mist’s explanation, he learned that the Miracle Bracelet had four main functions:

1. Ignore distance to absorb faith power from believers.

2. Ignore distance to establish a spiritual connection with believers.

3. Ignore distance to transmit one’s own power to believers.

4. Ignore distance to manipulate acquired faith power to enhance oneself.

At that moment, he suddenly thought of something.

What if I could establish a faith connection with another version of myself?

If I could do that, would I be able to gain power boosts from another me, regardless of distance or space?

Given the nature of miracle items, he felt it might actually be possible.

After all, the defining characteristic of miracle items is that they defy conventional logic.

Not a single miracle item’s function can be explained by theory.

As this thought crossed his mind, his heart stirred.

Blood Source, Purple Soul, Telekinesis... If I could borrow power from another me, every Sacrifice Line I traverse in the future would become smoother. I might even be able to borrow the Narrator’s power.

These were merely his conjectures.

Whether the Miracle Bracelet could transcend space, time, and distance to harness the power of another version of himself remained a complete unknown. The him in this timeline clearly couldn’t verify this hypothesis.

To test it, he would need to ensure that other version of himself also possessed a Miracle Bracelet. Then, he would need to build a divine statue, allowing him to establish a spiritual connection with it as a ”believer.” Only then could the other him use the Miracle Bracelet as a conduit to transfer power to him.

With this realization, the way he looked at the Miracle Bracelet changed.

Just as he was pondering how to obtain the Miracle Bracelet, he saw the Lord of the Mist seize it and toss it to him.

”I’ve already figured out how this thing works. How you use it from now on is up to you.”

”I highly recommend developing believers and using their faith power to strengthen yourself. You can also occasionally lend them some power to deepen their faith in you.”

”You’re giving this to me?” Feng Qi stared in astonishment at the Miracle Bracelet in his hand.

”We each have one. I told you, anything I have in the future, you’ll have a share of.” The Lord of the Mist’s face lit up with a radiant smile.
