Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

“The Drapion Jinchuriki is simply amazing.”

Baimu shook his head. Drapion wasn’t Leisi’s ace Pokémon, but its performance was unexpectedly good.

It made him want to train one himself.

Coincidentally, among the Wild Pokémon coming along with Lycanroc, there was Skorupi…

“Genga?”

The sound of Gengar interrupted Baimu’s thoughts.

He lowered his head, meeting a pair of blood-red eyes. Gengar’s expression seemed abstract, hilariously exaggerated, and from this angle, he could faintly see its bright teeth. On an impulse, he reached out his hand.

“It’s surprisingly hard.”

Baimu’s attention quickly returned to the simulator, as the battle between Leisi and the Paranormal Fan had reached a fever pitch.

The scoreboard at the top of the screen indicated that Leisi had only one Pokémon left, while the Paranormal Fan’s Gengar and Rotom were still ready for battle.

His heart began to race.

Not to mention, the energy level reward for the runner-up compared to the top four is one level higher, saving him at least half a month of training time!

Come on, girl!

He watched the Torterra battling Gengar on the screen, thinking that this might be Leisi’s first time participating in the Champion Alliance.

And as if hearing his call, Gengar unleashed a burst, first using Mud Wave to severely poison Torterra, then followed up with Hypnosis and Dream Eater Double Strike.

Unable to use Solar Beam in time, Torterra was knocked out.

Leisi was unfortunate in defeat.

“Second place!”

Baimu breathed a sigh of relief, then became curious about who defeated the Paranormal Fan—could it be a “familiar face”?

As he watched expectantly, a pixelated figure symbolizing an Elite Trainer appeared in the game.

His hopes were dashed.

However.

Despite the opponent looking like an NPC, their strength was real. The first half of the battle had the Paranormal Fan struggling, and her Ghost-type Pokémon were forced into a fierce fight.

However, it seemed she had exhausted too much energy in her battle against Leisi, and her condition plummeted in the second half.

In addition, the opponent seemed to have done proper homework beforehand, using Taunt to its fullest.

Baimu counted: the opponent used Taunt more than ten times during the battle!

How can the Ghost-type Pokémon, focused on Transformation Techniques, display their full power?

The Paranormal Fan had spent too little time nurturing her Pokémon, lacking countermeasures, and the Elite System in a way dragged her down.

If she had enough Pokémon, Taunt wouldn’t be a problem.

Finally.

Gengar failed to complete its burst, succumbing under Magmortar’s Smoke Spray.

The Paranormal Fan’s Mysterious Physique couldn’t showcase any special effects in battle; perhaps, as Melissa thought, the Mysterious Physique is better suited for the Gorgeous Competition.

[You stopped at second place, just one step away from the Champion Alliance, which makes you quite frustrated]

[You think it’s your immaturity causing this, your journey was too bland to count as being a qualified Trainer]

[Consoled by your parents and teacher Melissa, you decided to travel to other regions, and this time, you will use your own two feet to tackle new Alliance challenges]

[Your story is just beginning]

When the narrator highlighted these words, a strange ghostly face unrelated to Gengar seemed to emerge from the shadow beneath the Paranormal Fan’s feet.

It flashed by.

But Baimu caught it precisely.

Hmm? Could it be… does she also have a sequel like the Superpower User?

He was quite surprised.

The existence of sequels in the simulator had already been demonstrated by the Superpower User, who conveniently happened to be an Orange Talent simulation!

Could the Paranormal Fan also be this way?

If he remembers correctly, the next simulation location is the Unova Region.

Could the Paranormal Fan be Shauntal!?

Baimu hurriedly took out his phone to search for the biography of Shauntal, one of the Unova Four Celestial Kings, but unfortunately, there was no connection between Shauntal and the Paranormal Fan.

She had lived in the Unova Region since birth, although she excelled in Ghost-type Pokémon, her constitution wasn’t weak.

Was he overthinking…?

Baimu put down his phone. The simulator had yet to simulate any characters he was familiar with; he thought this time might be an exception.

The rewards appeared.

[Fixed Reward: Move Tutor ×3 (Attribute can be specified)]

[Fixed Reward: Paranormal Fan’s Soul Detachment Memory—Nighttime Entertainment (Can be revisited)]

…

[Choose Reward One: Raise any Pokémon by Level 3 (lv. below 70)]

[Choose Reward Two: Clues for obtainable Pokémon (Attribute can be specified, excellent)]

[Choose Reward Three: Skill—Overheating (Can choose a Pokémon to learn)]

[Choose Reward Four: Transfer [Weak and Often Ill] Talent to the next simulation round]

Oh?

The move reward actually included Overheating.

Baimu was surprised that among all the Ghost-type Pokémon choices of the Paranormal Fan, he randomly picked a move and missed out on the bunch of Ghost Attribute moves.

What’s more, none of the Pokémon in his team seem to be able to learn it.

“I’ll deal with it later.”

He selected one and three, refocusing on the fixed reward—Soul Detachment Memory… seemed to hold little value, unless repeated Soul Detachments could make him experience it too?

And transform into a little girl to play around or something.

Baimu shook his head and began distributing the level rewards he received.

So far.

As the team’s Pokémon levels gradually increased, even the level rewards given by the Blue Talent simulation had fewer eligible Pokémon to use them on.

The one with the highest energy level—Aggron, just reached Level 77 two days ago, truly worthy of its ace name.

Next was Hydreigon at Level 75, surpassing Mawile and Steelix at Level 74, which made it proud for quite some time.

Though even a one-level difference couldn’t prevent it from being pounded by Mawile.

After the trio was Dragapult, at Level 73; the Social Dinosaur needs a boost in mindset more than energy levels.

It becomes too disheartened after defeat, forcing Baimu to find ways to boost its confidence.

Sixth place—Blissey, Level 71; the Large Egg’s progress is always silent, but as Baimu’s second Pokémon, its excellence goes beyond battles.

Whether in healing, cooking or singing, it excels, a pink demon with versatile talents.

Seventh place—Altered-color Milotic, Level 70.

In the previous Double Blue simulation, Baimu fed it an additional level, exactly catching it at the Level 70 threshold—a maximum utilization of level rewards.

Eighth place—Porygon II, Level 68.

A gap of just two levels compelled Baimu to feed it directly to the Level 70 threshold.

Ninth and tenth place—Corsola, Altered-color Gengar, both at Level 64, still a way from Level 70.

Once these two reach Level 70, he can start accumulating level rewards to exchange for higher ones.

Let’s sooner push Aggron to the peak reward exchange Level 85, then pull it to Level 90 with the last Orange Talent rewards, which will surely aid his upcoming adventure.

The team’s bottom members are still the Dreepy Siblings—Level 46, Level 45.

Both levels have reached evolution’s requirement, yet show no signs of evolving, evidently proving the related information Baimu previously found correct.

Only when the Dreepy Siblings believe themselves ready to evolve will they break away from Dragapult and begin evolution.

Speaking of which.

Baimu always felt Sister Dreepy would likely leave behind the Social Dinosaur to evolve, demonstrating its independence through the venture to find Brother Dragapult alone.

—if they indeed evolve, would Dragapult cry?

He sensed Dragapult cherishes the Dreepy Siblings, though its personality often leads them to not play together frequently.

Instead, Gengar and Hydreigon are closer to the Dreepy Siblings.

“Come, let the sage touch your crown.”

Baimu rubbed Porygon II’s head, feeding it the level rewards.

Feeling the surge of power, Porygon II’s heart was filled with joy and worship towards him, as clever as it was to discover the Trainer’s little secret?

Even without a network, the skilled individuals encountered along the journey made Porygon II realize there exist extraordinary beings.

And its Trainer is among the most extraordinary.

This ability capable of bestowing power to Pokémon seemed to Porygon II quite identical to the Gods described by mankind—it believed Baimu would definitely ascend to the world’s pinnacle.

Baimu, destined to be king!
