Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Gym Trainer.

A person who, before formally challenging the Gym Leader in the game, battles against players within the Gym.

There’s no such rule in the animation, so Gym Trainers are mostly relatives, students, or followers of the Gym Leader, engaging in Pokémon practice under their guidance.

However.

Compared to the Paranormal Fan receiving Melissa’s guidance in various directions, the simulated footage shows more of her training physically alongside Haunter.

[You often watch Melissa’s battles with others enviously, but you also know your starting point is naturally lower than others. Instead of rushing into battles, training your body is your primary task.]

Besides, the Paranormal Fan is strictly prohibited from soul detachment. The narrator mentions Melissa repeatedly reminding her that temporary happiness brings no good, only harm.

The Paranormal Fan obediently quit soul detachment, but…

Melissa only said not to detach souls, she didn’t say anything about sneaking out with the body to play.

Therefore.

With a certain obsession for nightlife, the Paranormal Fan often sneaks to the interactive square with Haunter’s help to play with Pokémon she knew before.

Although being in a non-soul state caused her some trouble, and she almost got caught by patrolling police and interactive square security several times, nothing can stop the Paranormal Fan’s heart yearning for freedom and unrestrainedness.

“All Night Song?”

The Paranormal Fan wandered through the nighttime streets, colorful neon lights illuminating everywhere, evoking a taste of the anime “All Night Song.”

But soon, Baimu recalled his past life.

He remembered during middle school, he used to sneak out at midnight with friends to surf the internet, browse night markets, and night fishing. Many scenes flashed through his mind, reminiscing as if it were yesterday, stirring his emotions.

Just like that.

A large amount of simple pixel images flashed across the screen.

[You can feel yourself gradually gaining a healthy body and learning how to care for Ghost Attribute Pokémon under Melissa’s guidance.]

Melissa rarely taught the Paranormal Fan how to battle; it seems rather than being a Trainer, she preferred to encourage the Paranormal Fan to become a Coordinator Trainer.

However, the Paranormal Fan was determined to become a Regional Champion like Zhulan, and every time Melissa went out for performances or as a Gorgeous Competition judge, she would look for unfamiliar Trainers to battle.

Even though she rarely won, it was clear she was very happy.

[You start considering traveling.]

A healthy body gave the Paranormal Fan the confidence to speak, but what truly motivated her to make a decision was Haunter’s next evolution with a passerby Trainer’s help.

[Your Haunter evolved into a Gengar.]

The pixel version of Gengar was just as adorable as a real Gengar, allowing the slender Paranormal Fan to ride it like in the ride system from Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!

One morning.

The Paranormal Fan found her parents, who were heading out for work.

[You confessed your plans to your parents, and their first reaction was to vehemently refuse, as expected, but you calmly explained your thoughts.]

The Paranormal Fan’s parents weren’t stubborn; they simply thought it would be very easy for the Paranormal Fan, who was bedridden six months ago, to have an accident during solo travel.

In response, the Paranormal Fan presented her long-running record from the past night; this somewhat clumsy girl wanted to prove she’s now a normal person, no longer the sickly one she used to be.

As for unforeseen circumstances, her answer was Gengar. ℯℓ.

The Paranormal Fan’s parents witnessed the care and love Gengar gave her, knowing it had played the companion role many times before — Gengar was reliable.

Ultimately, the Paranormal Fan pulled out her trump card — she promised not to venture into the wild lightly, using trams and buses to travel between cities, while keeping in touch three times a day — morning, noon, and night.

[You understand that such conditions might take away many travel experiences, but no matter what, consider other things after heading out.]

This narration…

Baimu tugged at the corners of his mouth, thinking the Paranormal Fan was likely to spread her wings high like a bird soaring freely or fish leaping in wide oceans.

And judging from the ellipses that never seemed to fade from her parents’ heads, it wasn’t hard to see they probably guessed their daughter’s intentions.

Yet they were still convinced.

Excitedly, the Paranormal Fan ran to the Fortree Gym. Unexpectedly, Melissa was agreeable, only setting a condition —

[You heard you need to pass the Gym challenge at the Fortree Gym to travel, and you accepted without hesitation.]

The Paranormal Fan wanted to attempt Gym challenges all along but never had the chance. Melissa’s request was just what she wished for.

Seeing this, Baimu couldn’t help but shake his head: “It’s tough.”

As he thought.

The Paranormal Fan was completely no match for Melissa, even when Melissa only used Pokémon for challenger without badges.

The Gym Leader seriously winning against a novice is still straightforward.

[You knew Melissa increased the difficulty, but you didn’t feel angry. With Zhulan as your aim, if you couldn’t overcome this hurdle, the persistence of the past six months would be a waste.]

The Paranormal Fan’s most despairing moment might be the first week after Melissa took Gastly away; now, this little test was nothing for her and Gengar.

[You asked the Pokémon in the interactive square for assistance, and from then on, you gave up playing and began diligently practicing and battling every night.]

During this period, the Paranormal Fan considered that a competent Trainer shouldn’t have just one partner and invited two of the Pokémon to form a team.
