Apocalypse: the Most Ruthless Person

Chapter 762: Chapter 633: If Possible, It’s Beyond Imagination…

“I can confidently say that this Black Crystal doesn’t reach the effects of nuclear fusion, but it has its unique traits that are unmatched by nuclear fusion!”

Xie Yanshan’s tone heightened with excitement, “This afternoon, I tested it with an entire candle, which took an hour and twenty-six minutes. The heat amplified by the Black Crystal is hard to measure, but at any rate, it’s a form of energy consumption, right?

Yet the weight of the Black Crystal hasn’t changed at the microgram level at all! Simply put, it enhances energy release without any loss… this is more incredible than nuclear fusion!”

Xie Yanshan was just short of saying outright that this thing doesn’t conform to the conservation of energy. Even nuclear fusion materials have loss, but at the microgram level, there’s no detectable loss in the Black Crystal, showcasing a technology level against natural laws.

“Microgram. First give me a lesson on this unit.”

Zhang Su, curious and eager to learn, had heard of micrograms but didn’t know how to convert them.

Xie Yanshan seriously stated, “One gram equals one million micrograms. To use nuclear fusion as an example, the energy released from one microgram of nuclear fusion fuel is roughly equivalent to ten grams of coal, but the heat I generated this afternoon would require at least… well, let me think, around three to four hundred kilograms of coal!”

“In some ways, this thing is more powerful than nuclear fusion!”

Zhang Su gazed at the ink-black Black Crystal in his hand, his eyes glowing. Once the energy needs are met, the pace of development can significantly accelerate.

Amplifying the energy of a single candle to three or four hundred kilograms of coal, with no detected loss in the entity itself, forever indestructible?

Simply mind-blowing!

Xie Yanshan remarked with a quirky expression, “I never said it’s inferior to a nuclear fusion reactor, ha ha ha!”

“How much does it weigh?” Zhang Su hefted the crystal in his hand, feeling some heft, estimating it to be a bit over a pound, but with black technology at the milligram level, it’s better to be precise.

“Rounding to the nearest gram, six hundred thirty-nine grams.”

“Great treasure, with this, our camp can carefreely ‘boil water’, right?”

Zhang Su held the Black Crystal aloft, growing more fond with every glance.

“Honestly, it’s quite embarrassing. Even after all these years, human science and technology are still at the stage of boiling water. I don’t even have the qualification to glimpse the mystery within this crystal, perhaps even just the tip of the iceberg is enough to astound…”

Xie Yanshan indirectly answered Zhang Su’s question, but he still felt a hitch in his heart, as his previous research field was not basic physics. However, the shock brought by this Black Crystal was no less than Newton’s discovery of gravity and Einstein’s discovery of the unchanging speed of light.

A microbiologist discovering that energy doesn’t change…

“The secret is simply energy amplification! Old Xie, do you have any thoughts on how to use boiling water to drive the camp’s development?”

Zhang Su wasn’t interested in the essence of science; he urgently needed to change the present, not to stand on some unknown civilization’s shoulders and continue climbing. Because at the current level, not to mention climbing onto the shoulders of unknown civilization technology, even reaching its foot is hard!

“Oh.”

Xie Yanshan patted his forehead, “I’m not very good in this area, can only offer some slightly immature suggestions. If it’s about power generation by boiling water, then you definitely need a thermal power generating unit. Given the current situation of the Black Crystal, it won’t matter if the generator is larger, it can definitely support it!”

When the flames can expand by ten thousand times, a person also expands.

“Bringing up this thing is very troublesome…”

Talking about the thermal power generator made Zhang Su feel annoyed.

“A few days ago, I went into the city, planning to swing by the Development Zone to get a thermal power generator. We reached the entrance of the Development Zone, and then we got caught by a deadly snowstorm, with the zombies acting like rabid dogs, we had to retreat quickly. Now, it’s even worse, the whole city is filled with zombies, and it’s unclear if there’s any disturbance in the zombie horde after the shock wave!

We’ll have to wait at least two or three days and send people into the city to scout the situation. If it’s stable, we can make another trip to the Development Zone. Before that, let Old Jia and his team modify a simple thermal power generator. After all, using fire to boil water to generate electricity should suffice, even if the efficiency is low, it’s still better than a zombie generator, right?”

With the uncertain situation in the city, Zhang Su couldn’t possibly lead folks into dangerous areas recklessly.

“Of course, even the worst thermal power generator far surpasses that current ‘hurry up, hurry up’ generator, which only ensures basic lighting and charging of electric vehicles for now. If there’s thermal power generation, it would definitely meet the camp’s normal electricity needs, maybe even linking up with Satellite Village wouldn’t be a problem, except for the basic construction… tonight’s shock wave probably damaged the very few remaining power lines again.”

Although Xie Yanshan wasn’t involved in circuit repairs, he was aware of the situation.

Zhang Su shrugged helplessly. He hadn’t thought about delivering power to Satellite Village just yet. Energy is an invaluable resource, and how could it be enjoyed for free without any cost?

Currently, the village is using diesel generators for urgent repair and response, but eventually, it must return to a state of just ensuring lighting.

It’s easy to go from frugality to luxury, but difficult to go back.

Moreover, energy should be absolutely controlled by the core, as a means of control!

Xie Yanshan had no idea what Zhang Su was considering, still immersed in helping to come up with ideas for camp development, calmly saying:

“Additionally, early construction like camp heating could also utilize Black Crystal. If in the past we needed to consume ten zombie corpses overnight for heating, now just a single zombie arm would suffice, provided the flame size is well controlled, slowing down the combustion. Oh, and the pipeline renovation.

We could try building a comprehensive furnace, allowing the Black Crystal to meet thermal power generation, boil hot water for heating, and provide relentless flames for the blacksmith’s forge, quite ingenious.”

As he spoke, Xie Yanshan smiled and nodded, seemingly approving of his own plan.

Speaking of the blacksmith’s forge, Zhang Su suddenly remembered something, with a quirky expression said, “Old Xie, do you remember we have a Fire-breathing Zombie?”

?!

Xie Yanshan’s pupils contracted, his lips quivered, and he looked at Zhang Su with a somewhat frightened expression, “Mr. Zhang, I can’t guarantee whether the Black Crystal could amplify the fire breath of the Fire-breathing Zombie, if possible… I can’t imagine that scenario!”

“If the Fire-breathing Zombie goes all out, it can spew flames over forty meters, if amplified ten thousand times, hiss…”

Zhang Su gasped, envisioning a scene like Flame Mountain, with blazing flames surging in a tidal wave.

The two chatted joyfully for a while at the mountain pass, playing with the Black Crystal, with flames in various colors dancing against the night like glamorous ladies in different outfits swirling elegantly, lifting their spirits pleasantly, concluding with them returning to the camp, satisfied.

“Hey, seriously looking at it, is it a black hole, absorbing all your thoughts? Why are you wearing sunglasses at night, did they become welded to your face…”

On the bed, Zheng Xinyu saw Zhang Su lying with one arm as a pillow, the other hand holding the Black Crystal, gazing at it joyfully as if there rested a perfect paradise within. She reached out to remove his sunglasses, placing them on the nightstand and noticed the extreme satisfaction in his eyes, an unprecedented enchantment.

Zhong Xiaoshan hadn’t returned yet; she should have been in the surveillance room at this time, but with the equipment destroyed, there was no need to monitor, making the task more tiring with manual vigilance required; Zheng Xinyu would take over later in the night.

The No.1 program enjoyed exclusive access to a bedroom, though it seemed she didn’t require sleep, lying straight on the bed without covering, eyes open gazing at the ceiling, her gray-blue pupils faintly glowing in the dark…

“Xinyu, let me tell you, this is the future of our camp, a future filled with brightness!”

Zhang Su said with a smile on his lips.

Without the sunglasses, Zheng Xinyu was immediately infected by Zhang Su’s mood, her heart wavered.

“Oh, so such a small cube can really bring us a bright future? That’s wonderful…”

Zheng Xinyu looked at the Black Crystal with a face of longing, although not fully understanding why there would be a bright future, she felt that the Black Crystal indeed held a fascinating allure.
