Apocalypse: the Most Ruthless Person

Chapter 753: Chapter 624: Zombie Army at the Gates

“You know me?”

Zhang Su pretended not to hear the other’s comments and asked curiously.

“The name King Yama is renowned, even in the Mountain and Sea District, we hear it all the time!”

Shen Linrui clasped his fists, showing a very humble attitude.

“Are you sure it’s renowned in the Mountain and Sea District? Or is it renowned because you were spying in some ditch nearby?”

Chen Hanzhou’s gaze was cold as he rudely questioned.

If Zhang Su had said this, it might not quite match his stature, but it was fitting coming from his subordinate.

“This… oh. I’m really sorry, I didn’t manage to say it earlier.” Shen Linrui took off his hat, letting his mid-length hair fall over his shoulders. It gave off somewhat of an artistic vibe, but he couldn’t be called a young artist, since he was at least over thirty-five, more of an artistic middle-aged man.

“A while ago, we did come over here to explore the situation. We found a zombie horde moving at the time, guessing it was headed towards a camp. We followed out of curiosity and saw a massive purple explosion and then heard many people shouting King Yama.

Honestly, we even thought the bomb that exploded was called King Yama, or it was a slogan of some Survivor Camp. We thought that camp must be impressive, very bold, haha.”

Zhang Su, with a half-smile, said, “I wonder why the people from Dragon Head Camp came over to my place before and then didn’t show up?”

The key question made the five from Dragon Head Camp look at each other, as if deciding on something.

About four or five seconds later, Shen Linrui sighed and said, “King Yama, I didn’t expect to meet you here. I won’t lie in front of you, originally our camp had people come to Qing County to trade with the Cyan Dragon Corps, and then they didn’t return. We sent people out to look, and they also disappeared…

Later we found out that the Cyan Dragon Corps was no more. Dragon Head guessed there might be a stronger Survivor Camp over here, so we were sent to check the situation. If this camp were strong, we’d make friends, and if not… we’d consider incorporating them into Dragon Head Camp, maybe even establishing a branch.”

Zhang Su’s group communicated with looks, expressing the same opinion. In this Dark Forest, the law of the jungle was everywhere. Either be strong enough to ignore all hunters or hide thoroughly!

“Tsk…” Zhang Su clicked his tongue and chuckled, “You really do speak frankly. So why didn’t you come to make friends, thought our strength wasn’t enough?”

“No, no!”

Shen Linrui shook his head repeatedly, an awkward smile appearing on his resolute face, “That purple explosion was too powerful, so powerful that I thought it wasn’t suitable to make friends. It might even lead to Dragon Head Camp being swallowed by you…”

Zhang Su’s group had a strange expression, these guys were really quite candid.

“Okay then, I think what you say is reasonable. I don’t know about the people your camp sent to trade with the Cyan Dragon Corps. You’ve had a smooth journey over here, nothing on the road?”

Zhang Su naturally wouldn’t admit to any unproven conflicts or confrontations. From the Mountain and Sea District to Celestial Horse Island, the shortest distance was thirty to fifty kilometers. He didn’t believe two cars could make it safely.

Shen Linrui didn’t dwell on the disappearance of the previous people. Too much time had passed, and there are too many possibilities in this environment now. Even if it was this group in front, he couldn’t hold it against them.

“King Yama, you think carefully. To ensure a smooth journey, we set out with over twenty comrades, brought out fifteen vehicles from the camp, and to save time, any zombies encountered on the way were lured away by the brothers, ensuring efficiency.”

Shen Linrui frankly explained the hardships of the journey, also sending a message that Dragon Head Camp took this operation seriously.

Zhang Su nodded, this made sense, then changed the subject and asked, “I heard you just sent a distress signal to our sentry, what’s the story?”

Shen Linrui secretly breathed a sigh of relief; the other side finally brought this up. He had been holding back, wanting to gain favor and get help.

“Not afraid of making you laugh, King Yama, we came this time to ask for aid. Dragon Head Camp has been repeatedly attacked by zombie hordes, it’s hard to hold on!”

When it came to serious matters, Shen Linrui’s expression instantly turned grim.

Zhang Su’s brows furrowed as he asked, “What’s going on with your camp, why can’t you hold on?”

Shen Linrui organized his thoughts, “Our camp relied on the ancient city pass for defense, blocking off inside and outside the pass from the main road. But after the last snowfall, zombies have continuously struck Dragon Head Camp from Beyond the Pass.

Ten, dozens, or even a hundred are no problem. Even with fat zombies, it’s not a concern. But once there was a horde of about 3,000, and now, a brother scouted a massive horde moving towards the Mountain and Sea District from around 100 kilometers away. There’s about 500,000 of them!”

“500,000!”

The Yama Corps couldn’t help but look at each other, as if picturing a zombie horde of around 500,000 mentally, their faces couldn’t help but twitch.

Zhang Su couldn’t help but imagine this situation happening at Celestial Horse Island, fantasizing about 500,000 zombies swarming over, with at least thousands of hulking zombies among them, possibly even bizarre Mutated Zombies.

If such a situation were to occur, the only option would be to move everyone in the camp to the other side of the mountain, and then neutralize it entirely!

“From Mountain and Sea District, 100 kilometers out, Huolu City? Isn’t there a Survivor Camp in Huolu City, why would the zombies there head toward the Mountain and Sea District?”

Zhang Su knew the surrounding cities quite well and immediately thought of the source of the zombie horde, assuming all this was true.

Huolu City is the first city after passing through, with a resident population slightly less than Qin City, about 2.4 million. If what they said was true, then this 500,000 zombie horde gathered most of Huolu City’s zombies!

Shen Linrui shrugged, “I don’t know either… The camp sent a lot of people to disrupt the horde, trying to slow them down, but due to the massive size and geographical constraints, diverting them was really hard!”

“Doesn’t your camp have heavy firepower? No, no…” Zhang Su immediately regretted asking. The explosion mode of the Ascension Original Liquid was different from regular bombs, vaporizing everything without igniting. Using conventional thermal weapons might cause unforeseeable issues.

“By the way! Didn’t you previously lure over 100,000 zombies to Qin City, you should have a lot of experience with that, right?”

Zhang Su asked indirectly.

Upon hearing this question, the five from Dragon Head Camp were visibly taken aback, and Shen Linrui shook his head in confusion, “King Yama, I don’t understand what you’re saying. As far as I know, Dragon Head Camp has never done such a thing.”

“Still trying to deny it!”

Qi Xiaoshuai was very angry, and seeing Zhang Su didn’t stop him from speaking, he stepped forward and spoke loudly, “I was on Binhai Avenue watching the zombie horde, saw with my own eyes five unmanned drones lifting off, skillfully guiding over 100,000 zombies into Qin City District in several directions!

I couldn’t see the drones clearly, but I’m sure they were high-performance, extremely fast, with long-range signal reception. If it wasn’t you, then who in the Mountain and Sea District could have that kind of capability?”
