Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 1129: Chapter 715: A Huge Surprise (Part 2)

Dongfeng said contentedly, ”No problem, no problem. Thank you all.”

If we were to ask who among Dongfeng, Uncle Wan, and the others was most satisfied with the Big Camphor Tree Base after Ju Tianrui’s explanation,

it wouldn’t be Uncle Wan or Old Dong, but Dongfeng.

He had previously led a team of over a thousand people, so he knew the immense pressure—food pressure, zombie defense pressure, management pressure.

But after listening to the four-level rank system of the Big Camphor Tree Base and some rules that must be obeyed within the base, he suddenly realized.

Why did so many of them end up dwindling to just a few?

Apart from geographical factors, walls, and other factors, the biggest issue was the system.

To sustain so many people, if everything were equally distributed, the pressure on food alone could crush them.

But if they follow the rules of the Big Camphor Tree Base and use the least amount of food to attract more manpower and accomplish the greatest tasks,

then such a base can be sustainable and go further.

Dongfeng, was very satisfied.

As long as he could survive, starting as cooperative personnel step by step, why not?

Old Dong didn’t know when he had also returned to his family.

He thought that, like Dongfeng and the others, he would go out together to find a house nearby and then work on a construction site tomorrow to exchange for food.

Honestly, he was quite satisfied.

Li Yu looked at Dongfeng and then spoke, ”Your name is Dongfeng, right?”

”Yes.”

”You previously served in the Jiangnan Artillery Brigade as a platoon leader?” Li Yu asked again.

”Yes, City Lord.”

”Good, not bad. Then you should lead them well, your artillery experience is very valuable.” Li Yu said with a smile.

Dongfeng didn’t know how to respond to Li Yu, so he just nodded in agreement.

Li Yu looked past Dongfeng towards Old Dong, thought for a moment, then pulled Second Uncle aside to discuss his thoughts.

”Second Uncle, with Old Dong over there, we must take control of this person.” Li Yu said with determination in his eyes.

Second Uncle turned his head, glanced in Dongfeng’s direction, squeezed the walnut inside his clothes, and said, ”Xiao Yu, what are you thinking?”

”Let him directly enter the Outer City, bringing him in as special personnel. Also, bring his family in.”

Second Uncle wasn’t surprised, as he knew Li Yu had been eager to find a top-notch electricity specialist lately.

Now that it’s delivered to him, naturally, he wouldn’t let him leave.

”I have no problem, and since it’s only entering the Outer City, it doesn’t require approval through the Inner City meeting. You can make the decision. The key point is whether this Old Dong has the ability; that’s the crucial part.” Second Uncle pondered and said.

After hearing Second Uncle’s words, Li Yu explained the scene with Old Dong at the construction site in the Third Outer City.

Upon hearing this, Second Uncle clicked his tongue in wonder, saying, ”It seems this Old Dong truly has some skills, but what about Zhang San? How should he be dealt with? After all, at least he has made some contributions, invented the elevator, and is now working on the electric truck. He hasn’t even entered the Outer City yet.”

While on the road, Li Yu mainly pondered this issue and already had a vague answer.

”Now Zhang San is still busy at the construction site in the Third Outer City. Since it’s the construction site, conducting research and modification there is not very convenient. So, how about letting Zhang San and his daughter both come in?

Bring Zhang San and this Old Dong together with He Bing, Zhou Ran, and Xiao Hang for research.”

Second Uncle frowned, hesitated, and said, ”Wouldn’t this be too fast? Wouldn’t it make other cooperative personnel feel it’s unfair?”

Li Yu also frowned.

After a long time, his brows relaxed.

He slapped his thigh.

He suddenly realized that with more people in the base, the more considerations there are.

Appearing somewhat indecisive.

Always thinking about fairness, considering the mood and emotions of the cooperative personnel and extra staff.

However, whether it’s before or during the Doomsday,

there’s no absolute fairness.

This was a mutually willing matter in itself; if you had the skill, then show it.

Moreover, the Big Camphor Tree Base itself doesn’t owe those cooperative personnel and extra staff.

To speak cruelly, as long as they haven’t entered the Outer City, they are merely in a cooperative relationship.

Their life and death are unrelated to the Big Camphor Tree Base.

So, why should we care too much about their feelings when doing things?

Li Yu shook his head, self-mockingly said to Second Uncle, ”Second Uncle, we don’t need to care too much about them, it’s not fair; if they have ability, show it. There’s no absolute fairness.”

Second Uncle trembled all over; he also felt somewhat restrained lately.

Recognizing this point now, a few seconds later.

He said to Li Yu, ”You’re right.”

Li Yu always remembered the reason he built the Big Camphor Tree Base.

To protect family and friends and live well during the Doomsday.

His ambition wasn’t that grand; he couldn’t save the whole world.

Even if the Big Camphor Tree Base becomes increasingly large in the future, this central point won’t change.

If to help a hundred people, he had to sacrifice one of his family members or friends,

then he would rather let those hundred people die.

He wasn’t that great to sacrifice all food to help others, letting family and friends go hungry.
