Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 1118: Chapter 711: Defecting to the Big Camphor Tree Base

”This is Xin City.” Uncle Wan looked at the blue signpost and said to everyone.

They had been walking for several hours. To arrive sooner, they didn’t rest along the way, and now they had reached the border of Xin County, so they sat on the ground to rest.

Just then, a few pickup trucks suddenly drove toward them from the front.

Upon seeing the pickup trucks, Dongfeng immediately stood up with a face full of vigilance, gripping the Long Knife tightly in his hand.

In the post-apocalyptic world, encountering strangers is not a good thing.

Most of the people you meet are those who want to take resources from you.

It’s rare, very rare, to meet good people.

Seeing Dongfeng stand up, everyone else also stood up and looked toward the pickup trucks.

On the pickup trucks.

Yu Ming looked at the people ahead and said to the short guy, Xiao Meng, ”Director Li told us to be wary of strangers appearing. If you discover any strangers, you must report it immediately. Report what’s happening with the strangers here.”

Yu Ming’s group had once been Cooperative Personnel and collaborated with the Big Camphor Tree Base for a long time, accumulating a high amount of points.

But last time during a natural disaster, because another cooperative team made trouble, although Yu Ming adhered to the regulations of the Big Camphor Tree Base, even being beaten, he didn’t fight back.

So, Li Yu let his team join the Big Camphor Tree Base as Extra Staff.

Now, they are people with authority.

Upon hearing the team leader Yu Ming’s words, Xiao Meng immediately took out a walkie-talkie to contact the stationed personnel in the northern part of the Big Camphor Tree Base.

In fact, the stationed personnel north of Big Camphor Tree were less than eight kilometers away from them. With the signal boosted by a repeater, they could completely receive the notification sent from here to the temporary point in the northern part of the Big Camphor Tree Base.

”Station 5, Station 5, this is Extra Staff Group 11, Yu Ming’s group. We’re now on National Route 319, eight kilometers from your location. We’ve discovered more than twenty strangers. They are not carrying any thermal weapons. Please respond, over.”

Xiao Meng repeated the message three times with the walkie-talkie.

Soon.

The stationed personnel at the northern point of the Big Camphor Tree Base, Zhuzi, received this message.

He used to follow He Chao and often stationed outside with others like A Guang and Deng Ben.

Originally, he was just a small underling following He Chao, but now he serves as a key contact at the station, with two other Extra Staff following him.

After hearing the news, Zhuzi’s expression changed slightly, and he immediately held the walkie-talkie and said, ”Station 5 received, Station 5 received, I will notify Ju Tianrui on patrol today. According to the notice issued by the base a few days ago, you can stabilize them, follow them, and keep in contact at all times.”

Then, he took out the walkie-talkie again to contact Ju Tianrui, who was patrolling the five stations today.

”Captain Ju, we’ve found more than twenty strangers at the intersection of Xin City and Xing County on National Route 319. They’re not carrying thermal weapons. Please come and check it out now.”

At this time, Ju Tianrui happened to be patrolling around the Big Camphor Tree Base, only a dozen kilometers away.

So, upon receiving the message, Ju Tianrui immediately replied, ”Okay, I’ve received it. I’m coming right away.”

At the same time, the Big Camphor Tree Base also received the message.

In an instant, Li Yu, who was punching a bag in the Inner City Villa, heard the message on the walkie-talkie.

Upon hearing that Ju Tianrui was going over, Li Yu wiped his sweat and instructed, ”Ju Tianrui, after you go over, first find out their purpose for coming here. If they’re just passing through, let them go. If you find anything unusual, escort them back.”

After receiving Li Yu’s message, Ju Tianrui immediately replied.

Then he took his patrolling teammates with him and drove to the intersection of Xin City and Xing County.

Since implementing the five stations and distributing walkie-talkies to numerous Cooperative Personnel, this was the first time encountering strangers.

After all, this plan has only been in execution for a week.

In the post-apocalyptic world, it’s not easy for humans to encounter each other.

Most of the survivors in the Xin City area have established cooperative relations with the Big Camphor Tree Base.

These Cooperative Personnel spread out like a big net across various places in Xin City, continuously going out to collect building materials and transporting them back to the Big Camphor Tree Base to construct the Third Outer City.

And among them, most people know each other.

As soon as strangers appear, they can quickly be discovered.

Moreover, on the main road arteries, there are stations north of Big Camphor Tree Base, in the south, in Xin City, and even in Gan City.

This gives the Big Camphor Tree Base a strong control over Xin City, and even Gan City.

Once strangers appear, or any signs of trouble, they can receive reports.

After receiving the news, Li Yu sat on a bench for a while, wiped his sweat, stopped punching the bag, and headed toward the wall.

Second Uncle saw Li Yu coming over and nodded as a greeting.

”Who do you think they could be? Could they be from the Western Alliance?” Second Uncle asked.

Li Yu thought for a moment and said, ”I don’t know, but based on the current information, it’s unlikely. But it’s still unclear. Let’s wait for Ju Tianrui’s report.”

Meanwhile, throughout Xin City, among the Cooperative Personnel, some were transporting building materials while others happened to be on the road. No matter what they were doing, they all received this notification: Strangers had been discovered in the northern part of the Big Camphor Tree Base, and they should always be alert to see if there are any other strangers around.
