Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 223: Chapter 144: Liaoyuan Cluster Fire and Bitter Anger Beast

This was far more glorious than being bound by the Moon Eyes Lily Contract to a Deceit Holder who possessed a Deceitful Moon Badge.

What’s more, Zhong Yi was no ordinary Celestial Destiny Seeker!

He Guoguo and Sun Ya were absolute geniuses among the new generation of Bizarre.

Several Deceit Holders with Deceitful Moon Badges had personally summoned the two of them, expressing their desire to form a Contract with them.

Sun Ya and He Guoguo had been quite confident, but when Zhong Yi asked them to summon their Deceit Beasts, Sun Ya’s fair, delicate palm couldn’t help but break out in a fine sweat.

Nervous as she was, Sun Ya still activated her Soul Base decisively.

A cluster of brilliant, purplish-red flames appeared in front of Sun Ya.

This mass of purplish-red flame was about the same size as Sun Ya herself.

As the purplish-red flame burned, it shot out fine clusters of fire, like a radiant aura.

After being scattered, these fiery clusters would circle the central mass once before being reabsorbed.

It was as if the great ball of fire was an aggregation of these fine, fiery clusters.

Zheng Yufeng began to introduce Sun Ya’s Deceit Beast to Zhong Yi.

However, Zhong Yi’s mind wasn’t on Zheng Yufeng’s introduction.

He had already used All Things Exploration to probe the details of Sun Ya’s Deceit Beast.

[Deceit Beast Name]: Liaoyuan Cluster Fire

[Deceit Beast Species]: Deceit Fire Species/Curse Flame Species

[Deceit Beast Level]: Mortal Beast Level (1/10)

[Deceit Beast Type]: Deceit Element

[Deceit Beast Quality]: None

Skills:

[Life and Death Cluster Burning]: Unfurls a Fire Realm to burn designated Creatures within it, draining their Life Force. Whenever a target inside the Fire Realm recovers Life Force, the burning effect on it is enhanced.

Liaoyuan Cluster Fire was a Deceit Element Bizarre that manifested primarily in elemental form.

Among Deceit Element Bizarre, this type—which directly manifested in an Elemental Form—had no close-combat capabilities but was packed with utility.

Deceit Beast Masters with this type of Deceit Element beast, much like Guardian Beast Masters who contracted Purebred Elemental Guardian Beasts, would develop into stationary, high-damage Mages in their later stages.

Liaoyuan Cluster Fire’s Skill, Life and Death Cluster Burning, was a rare field-type Skill.

This Basic Skill was somewhat similar to Ice Glaze’s Exclusive Trait, Extreme Ice Force Field.

Once Liaoyuan Cluster Fire unfurled its Fire Realm, any units within it designated by Sun Ya would become its targets, continuously burned and drained of their Life Force.

Furthermore, whenever a target within the Fire Realm recovered Life Energy, the realm’s overall burning effect would be enhanced.

When fighting within the field created by Liaoyuan Cluster Fire, anyone constantly taking burn damage would inevitably use a Healing Ability if they had one.

Every enemy recovery boosted Liaoyuan Cluster Fire’s damage. In a sense, this effect could be considered a form of anti-healing.

If your own side had a Healer, your own active healing could also amplify Liaoyuan Cluster Fire’s damage.

Zhong Yi hadn’t looked at He Guoguo’s Deceit Beast yet.

’Considering that Sun Ya’s and He Guoguo’s Deceit Beasts only have one Basic Skill each,’ Zhong Yi mused, ’for them to have any synergy, He Guoguo’s Deceit Beast must have an ability that constantly recovers Life Force, thereby boosting Liaoyuan Cluster Fire’s damage.’

Qin Ruyue observed Sun Ya’s Deceit Beast, Liaoyuan Cluster Fire, for a long moment before speaking.

”Young Master, this Deceit Beast is well worth cultivating, even without synergy.”

”On its own merits, it’s a top-tier contender among those with A+ Level potential.”

Qin Ruyue didn’t see Sun Ya and He Guoguo as her rivals.

After all, Qin Ruyue’s Night-Cutting Spider was at the Mythical Tier. In contrast, Sun Ya and He Guoguo’s Soul Bases had only just awakened, and their Deceit Beasts were still at the Mortal Beast Tier.

Qin Ruyue was looking at the pair as a senior would look upon her juniors.

If Qin Ruyue had considered them rivals, she wouldn’t have uttered a single word of praise, no matter how great their Talent.

Sun Ya and He Guoguo both knew full well that in terms of their Deceit Beasts’ power and Talent, they were not lacking.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t have both been rated as A+ Level Bizarre.

The two hadn’t even met when their potential was rated A+.

Their potential ratings did not include any bonus for synergy.

Compared to being just two excellent A+ Level Deceit Beasts, their real advantage lay in the synergy between them.

As Sun Ya summoned her Deceit Beast, He Guoguo was growing impatient.

But since Zhong Yi hadn’t spoken, He Guoguo didn’t dare to rashly summon her own Deceit Beast.

Seeing Zhong Yi nod at her, He Guoguo hastily activated her Soul Base.

A slender, streamlined, beast-shaped Deceit Beast appeared before Zhong Yi. It was three meters long, its body covered in tough skin, and its appearance was exceedingly strange.

The Deceit Beast’s skin was bluish-purple and covered in thousands of tiny, densely packed black pores.

These black pores, like nostrils, opened and closed with every twitch of its muscles.

Anyone with trypophobia would instantly break out in goosebumps upon seeing this Deceit Beast.

The expression on the Deceit Beast’s face looked pained and ferocious, but Zhong Yi could sense the cruel, murderous desire hidden beneath.

He Guoguo, clearly aware her Deceit Beast wasn’t much of a looker, scratched her head in embarrassment.

”Lord Su Sheng, my Deceit Beast is called the Bitter Anger Beast.”

”These black pores on its body are where it hides its weapons.”

”During battle, these breathing pores release weapons condensed from Curse Power.”

”And once the Bitter Anger Beast grows larger, these black pores won’t be so noticeable.”

While Zhong Yi placed some importance on the appearance of his own beasts, he didn’t care about how others’ looked.

In a system where a Deceit Beast Master could only have one Lifebound Deceit Beast as their bonded companion, the Deceit Beast’s power was undoubtedly the most important thing.

Through All Things Exploration, Zhong Yi understood what He Guoguo meant by ”grows larger.”

[Deceit Beast Name]: Bitter Anger Beast

[Deceit Beast Species]: Blade Beast Family/Swift Beast Species

[Deceit Beast Level]: Mortal Beast Level (1/10)

[Deceit Beast Type]: Curse Element

[Deceit Beast Quality]: None

Skills:

[Absorption of Suffering and Amplification]: When Creatures in the surrounding area take damage, it recovers a certain amount of Life Energy. It also continuously absorbs their pain to temporarily strengthen and enlarge its body, gaining greater combat ability.

The Bitter Anger Beast recovered Life Force whenever Creatures nearby were injured.

Liaoyuan Cluster Fire, using its Basic Skill Life and Death Cluster Burning, could create a Fire Realm where Creatures would be constantly taking damage.

This would cause the Bitter Anger Beast’s Life Force to regenerate constantly.

And each time the Bitter Anger Beast recovered Life Force via its Basic Skill, Absorption of Suffering and Amplification, it would in turn empower Liaoyuan Cluster Fire.

This enhanced the burning effect of Liaoyuan Cluster Fire on other targets within the Fire Realm.

The two would continuously reinforce each other in battle.

The stronger the Fire Realm’s burning effect, the stronger the Bitter Anger Beast’s life recovery.

If they could just hold out for a while, the pair had the potential to fight opponents of a higher Tier.

This positive feedback loop allowed both to grow stronger in sync during a battle.

And it was difficult to determine if this growth even had a ceiling.

No wonder Chen Yin and Zheng Yufeng had such high praise for the synergy between their Deceit Beasts.

While synergizing with Liaoyuan Cluster Fire, the Bitter Anger Beast could also continuously absorb the pain of surrounding Creatures to amplify its own body.

It increased its Four-dimensional Attributes by enlarging its body.

In their partnership, Sun Ya’s role was to set up the field, making her seem like the core of their synergy.

But in Zhong Yi’s opinion, the true core of their synergy was actually He Guoguo.

Other units could also damage surrounding enemies, allowing the Bitter Anger Beast to recover Life Force and absorb suffering to grow larger.

They just might not do it as well as Liaoyuan Cluster Fire.

For example, if Shen Xuan were to pair his Order Beast, the Ten Thousand Corrosive Poison Mother, with He Guoguo’s Bitter Anger Beast, the effect might be even better than the synergy between Liaoyuan Cluster Fire and the Bitter Anger Beast.

The only difference would be that the Bitter Anger Beast couldn’t empower Shen Xuan’s Order Beast, the Ten Thousand Corrosive Poison Mother, in return, like the two-way reinforcement it had with Liaoyuan Cluster Fire.

Zhong Yi had no reason not to accept such a powerfully synergistic pair of talents.
