Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 219: Chapter 142: Perfect Thorn, Finch, Pot

The force carried by a Feather Blade makes it difficult to pierce the body of a target of the same Tier.

However, a continuous barrage of Feather Blades has a powerful disruptive effect.

Moreover, each Feather Blade strike deepens the damage the target subsequently receives.

This essentially magnifies the Thorny Sparrow Hunter’s offensive capabilities.

Combined with its Exclusive Trait, Life-Sacrifice Burst, it gives the Thorny Sparrow Hunter a way to challenge opponents of a higher Tier.

Watching the two Thorny Sparrow Hunters circle overhead, Zhong Yi couldn’t help but recall watching a military parade in his past life.

If the Sun Wheel Thorns were a mothership, then these Thorny Sparrow Hunters were its carrier-based aircraft.

Once this Thorny Sparrow Hunter couple laid their eggs, the colony of Thorny Sparrow Hunters living on the Sun Wheel Thorns would grow.

Dozens, or even hundreds, of Thorny Sparrow Hunters would take flight, each one using the Skill, Supporting Feather Blade.

It would be like dozens of carrier aircraft dropping an infinite supply of ammunition, continuously striking the target.

It would unleash a magnificent storm of Feather Blades.

Based on the hereditary traits of Thorny Sparrow Hunters, there was an eighty percent chance that the offspring of a pair would inherit their parents’ Skills and Exclusive Traits upon advancing in Tier and Quality.

This inheritance would only begin to fade after three generations.

Under the effect of Supporting Feather Blade, the damage amplification from the Feather Blades of different Thorny Sparrow Hunters could stack.

This allowed different Thorny Sparrow Hunters to coordinate with each other.

Zhong Yi raised his hand, and the two Thorny Sparrow Hunters obediently landed on the back of it.

They gently rubbed the back of his hand with the soft down of their bellies.

Because their talons were extremely sharp, when the two Thorny Sparrow Hunters landed on the back of Zhong Yi’s hand, they deliberately curled their claws inward, not a single one scratching him.

Zhong Yi looked forward to the future growth of these two Thorny Sparrow Hunters.

After a Thorny Sparrow Hunter formed a Contract with a thorn plant, it would quickly build a nest and lay eggs as long as the environment was safe for its offspring.

Zhong Yi had prepared plenty of materials for the Thorny Sparrow Hunters to build their nest.

There were also abundant food resources here, and the nest of these two Thorny Sparrow Hunters was already partially built.

In a few more days, once the nest was finished, the two Thorny Sparrow Hunters would likely consider breeding.

After Zhong Yi formed a Contract with the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot, due to its Exclusive Trait, Dragon Pot Twins, the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot had split into two separate entities.

Zhong Yi had deliberately placed one of the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pots next to the Thorny Sparrow Hunters’ nest.

Because the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot had not yet devoured a Dragon Crystal, the Dragon Spirit could not manifest a physical form, so it remained hidden inside the pot.

From the outside, totems of thorns, birds, and insects had appeared on the patterns of the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot.

It was obvious that the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot had already formed Contracts with the Sun Wheel Thorns and the two Thorny Sparrow Hunters.

Not only that, but the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot had even, with nothing better to do, formed a Contract with the Fire-Loving Worms that were being kept in a box as food for the Thorny Sparrow Hunters.

Otherwise, the insect totem that closely resembled a Fire-Loving Worm wouldn’t have appeared on the pot’s body.

The Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot’s Tier and Quality were the sum of the Tiers and Qualities of the Contracted Creatures within its territory.

Zhong Yi curiously inspected the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot’s data.

[Guardian Beast Name]: Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot

[Guardian Beast Species]: Demon Artifact Species/Dragon Artifact Species

[Guardian Beast Level]: Extraordinary Level (6/10)

[Guardian Beast Type]: Demon Spirit Element

[Guardian Beast Quality]: Silver Quality

Skills:

[Treasure Contract]: Cannot actively increase its own Tier or Quality, nor can it leave its territory. It forms contracts with things within its territory. Once a contract is made, all damage and curses inflicted upon the contracted things are transferred to itself. Its own power is the sum of the power of its contracted things.

[Dragon Pot Blessing]: Within its domain, it can bless one creature with which it has a contractual relationship, increasing that creature’s growth speed. The effectiveness of this boost on the designated creature is related to its own Tier and Quality.

Exclusive Traits:

[Dragon Crystal Transformation]: Uses a Dragon Crystal as the source of the Pot Spirit’s Bloodline. The Pot Spirit will transform itself based on the type and purity of the Bloodline contained within the Dragon Crystal placed in the pot.

[Dragon Pot Twins]: Splits its body, dividing itself into two to share both Life and soul. The power boosts each one gains are not shared. If one pot is destroyed, the other will perish along with it.

Upon inspection, Zhong Yi discovered that the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot was at the Extraordinary Sixth Level.

Its Tier was indeed a bit higher than that of the Sun Wheel Thorns and the two Thorny Sparrow Hunters.

The moment he finished inspecting the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot’s data, Zhong Yi understood why the Sun Wheel Thorns was growing so quickly.

After reaching the Extraordinary Tier, it had quickly advanced to the Extraordinary Third Level.

It turned out to be because of the skill, Dragon Pot Blessing, which the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot obtained upon advancing to the Extraordinary Tier.

Dragon Pot Blessing allowed the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot to designate one creature with which it had a contractual relationship and increase its growth speed.

Right now, in the defensive system formed by the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot, the Thorny Sparrow Hunters, and the Sun Wheel Thorns,

the only one that needed to raise its Tier was the Sun Wheel Thorns.

The Thorny Sparrow Hunters and the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot were like parasites; their Tiers would increase along with the Tier of the Sun Wheel Thorns.

This meant the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot only needed to use Dragon Pot Blessing to continuously boost the growth speed of the Sun Wheel Thorns.

Furthermore, the effect of Dragon Pot Blessing on growth speed was related to the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot’s own Tier and Quality.

And for the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot, which could use Treasure Contract to form contracts with multiple targets, increasing its Tier and Quality was a very easy matter.

This ensured that the boost to the Sun Wheel Thorns’ growth from the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot would not diminish as the Sun Wheel Thorns’ Tier and Quality increased.

In fact, it would continue to get stronger!

Through a fortunate coincidence, the synergy between the Sun Wheel Thorns and the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot had created a self-accelerating internal loop.

It allowed them both to rapidly grow in power.

And the only price for all of this was merely the sunlight from the sky.

Having advanced to Silver Quality, the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot split in two due to its new Exclusive Trait, Dragon Pot Twins.

However, the two pots would share skills and Exclusive Traits.

The other Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot, used to cultivate the Fertility Ant Queen, the Blood Enchanting Bee Queen, the Secret Medicine Lake Clam, and other Guardian Beasts, could also use Dragon Pot Blessing to boost the output of designated Production-type Guardian Beasts and help them grow quickly.

For the time being, Zhong Yi would no longer focus his attention on the Sun Wheel Thorns, Thorny Sparrow Hunters, and Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot.

Zhong Yi planned to wait until the Sun Wheel Thorns advanced to the Fantasy Tier before checking on its situation again.

Before entering the Fantasy Tier, the Sun Wheel Thorns would have to raise its Quality to Gold Quality.

At that time, the Bloodlines of the Sun Wheel Thorns and the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot would receive another upgrade from their current state.

After returning to the main residence, Zhong Yi found Zhao Kai and instructed him to focus all his efforts on hatching the Iron-Eating Insect eggs.

He also told Zhao Kai about the order he had signed with the Zhenchong Commerce Association.

Then, he transferred a full 5 billion Federation Coins back into Zhao Kai’s account.

”Young Master, the Zhenchong Commerce Association is really generous, ordering two hundred thousand Juvenile Stage Iron-Eating Insects all at once.”

”It won’t be difficult for me and the apprentices to raise the Iron-Eating Insects ordered by the Zhenchong Commerce Association within six months.”

”With the potion you gave me, the hatching success rate can be guaranteed.”

”Even though hatching a large number of insect eggs at once normally leads to a lower success rate,”

”as long as I have the apprentices be a bit more meticulous, it won’t drop by much.”

”It’s just that... the amount of money you gave me is really a bit too much!”

Hearing this, Zhong Yi replied in an extremely serious tone.

”Brother Zhao, we agreed on this before. The profits from the Iron-Eating Insects will be used to train the Creator apprentices you and Wu Qing have recruited, and to stockpile large quantities of materials needed for preparing potions.”

”Even if training apprentices doesn’t cost that much right now, we can’t be careless when it comes to stockpiling materials.”

”I’ve had Uncle Huai find a shop that specializes in making Storage Pouches and order 200 Storage Boxes.”

”The internal space of these Storage Boxes is much larger than that of Storage Pouches.”

”We’ll use these Storage Boxes to store different materials separately. Only with enough material support can we build a complete resource production system for Creators.”
