Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 221: Chapter 143: 5-finger Peak Creator

”The Dragon Soaring Association is in a little over a week. If we head to Longya City now, we can still make it for the quadrennial event.”

Zhong Yi didn’t know who this Tao En mentioned by Zhao Kai was, but he did know who Elder Cui, mentioned by Wen Tao, was.

Cui Ji was a powerhouse from an older generation than the Star Emperor, though his strength wasn’t quite on par with the up-and-coming Star Emperor.

But even without being a Celestial Destiny Seeker, he still had a sliver of a chance to become an expert at the level of the Peak of Ten Thousand Nations.

Zhong Yi hadn’t expected that Wen Tao would actually ask Cui Ji to accompany him to Longya City.

With Cui Ji around, never mind just moving between the various Heroic Cities of the Xin Xia Alliance.

Even if they left the Xin Xia Federation and ventured into the chaotic outside world, it would be difficult to run into any real danger.

”Xiaoyi, you must have something you need to do in Longya City.”

”You can tell me what you’re planning in advance.”

”I’m quite familiar with a few of the Celestial Destiny Seekers in Longya City, so it’ll be easier to prepare.”

Hearing this, Zhong Yi didn’t hold back and told Wen Tao about his plan to try and recruit Tao En.

Zhong Yi, Wen Tao, and Cui Ji would be traveling to Longya City together.

If Zhong Yi had any ulterior motives, he definitely wouldn’t be able to hide them.

Since Wen Tao had asked, Zhong Yi also wanted to inquire about Tao En’s situation.

Wen Tao’s brow twitched when he heard Zhong Yi’s words, and he replied in a very grave tone.

”Xiaoyi, the information you received is correct. Tao En was indeed a Five-finger Peak Creator in his prime.”

”There are all sorts of rumors about how he ended up in this state. It’s not necessarily because he was injured while exploring a Secret Realm.”

”However, I do know a bit about the feud between Tao En and Cao Xing’an.”

”Tao En originally had a son and a daughter. Back when Tao En was still a Four-finger Creator, his children died in Earth Dragon Valley outside Longya City while trying to capture a Guardian Beast.”

”Tao En investigated and found that his children’s deaths weren’t an accident. They were murdered by an old, established local power in Longya City.”

”Tao En laid low until he became a Five-finger Creator, then he gathered his followers and went to war with that old power.”

”By the time he became a Five-finger High Level Creator, he had managed to wipe out that old power, stirring up a storm of blood in Longya City.”

”And the person backing that old power Tao En destroyed was none other than Cao Xing’an.”

”The seeds of the feud between Tao En and Cao Xing’an were sown back when Tao En was just a Three-finger Creator.”

”Now, Tao En lives in Longya City, raising the child his son left behind.”

”Although the Longya City authorities intervened, as far as I know, Cao Xing’an has never stopped suppressing Tao En over the years.”

”Never mind recruiting Tao En—just getting involved with him will draw the hostility of numerous factions in Longya City.”

”According to rumors, Cao Xing’an seems to have had a breakthrough in recent years.”

”He’s no longer a Five-finger High Level Creator but has successfully advanced to become a genuine Five-finger Peak Creator, reaching the same height Tao En was once at.”

Zhong Yi just smiled at this, not at all concerned about Tao En’s enemies.

Tao En’s enemies were all inferior to him. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have waited until he had an accident to start retaliating and suppressing him.

Previously, after making an enemy of Tao En, the Five-finger High Level Creator Cao Xing’an had kept a low profile after Tao En became a Five-finger Peak Creator.

He had even been thinking of various ways to resolve their feud.

Even though Cao Xing’an was now a Five-finger Peak Creator and had reached Tao En’s former level...

...their talents were simply incomparable.

Tao En’s talent as a Creator was far superior to Cao Xing’an’s.

”Brother Tao, I definitely have to go and meet Senior Tao En.”

”If he can’t be healed, it’s not worth the risk of offending a Five-finger Peak Creator just to recruit a Senior Tao En who’s only at the level of a Three-finger Creator.”

”But if I can heal Senior Tao En and restore him to the level of a Five-finger Peak Creator...”

”...then there’s no need to worry about his enemies, is there?”

Wen Tao burst into laughter.

”Xiaoyi, if you can really win Tao En over, make him your subordinate, and bring him to Starlight City...”

”...you’ll have made a huge contribution to Starlight City.”

”When that happens, I’ll apply for a quarterly research fund for Master Tao En and have it deposited directly into your account.”

No matter who Tao En followed in the future, as long as he came to Starlight City, it would be a tremendous benefit to the city.

Of the five existing Six-finger Creators in the Xin Xia Federation, one followed the Dragon Emperor, one was loyal to the Xin Xia Royal Court, and one was retained by the prestigious Fang Family of the Imperial Capital.

The other two Six-finger Creators had each established their own factions.

In a way, the status and standing of a Six-finger Creator even surpassed that of a Celestial Destiny Seeker.

After all, even powerhouses on the level of the Three Emperors, Four Venerables, and Five Monarchs sometimes had to seek help from a Six-finger Creator.

Upon becoming a Six-finger Creator, one might even have Celestial Destiny Seekers as followers.

There were hundreds of Celestial Destiny Seekers in the Xin Xia Federation, but in the last century, there had only ever been five Six-finger Creators, and that number hadn’t increased.

Starlight City had always been extremely short on High Tier Creator resources. Currently, only one Five-finger Peak Creator resided in Starlight City long-term.

Among the Heroic Cities of the Xin Xia Federation, this was below average.

If one more Five-finger Peak Creator were to take up long-term residence, Starlight City’s High Tier Creator resources would rise to the middle ranks among all Heroic Cities.

A Five-finger Peak Creator was a walking Treasure Vault.

When the unique Potions they developed were sold in a Heroic City, they would imperceptibly strengthen its foundation.

Zhong Yi let out a soft laugh.

”Brother Tao, I’ll do my best!”

”Over the next few days, I plan to use the materials you gave me to improve my Order Beast’s Quality.”

”Let’s set out in three days. Otherwise, if we go too early, we’ll just have to wait around for the Dragon Soaring Association to start.”

”If I improve my Order Beast’s Quality, I’ll also have a better chance of healing Senior Tao En.”

Wen Tao couldn’t help but sigh with admiration.

”Xiaoyi, you’re truly Starlight City’s lucky star!”

”Improving your Order Beast’s Quality is a major undertaking. You absolutely can’t be careless. Just take your time.”

”When you’re done strengthening your Order Beast and want to leave, just call me. I’ll let Elder Cui know in advance, and we can set off at any time.”

”The people from the Celestial Destiny Society Headquarters will be here tomorrow. I had Ah Zhuo record a video of you treating my Order Beast beforehand.”

”You don’t need to show up tomorrow. As for Xiaoxuan, as long as he displays his burst of power, passing the Celestial Destiny Society Inspector’s assessment shouldn’t be a problem.”

”For the next few days, just focus on researching how to strengthen your Order Beast.”

The improvement of the Quality of Zhong Yi’s Order Beast, the Resurrection Celestial Lord, didn’t just concern him personally; it was also tied to the future of Starlight City and the Xin Xia Federation.

Even now, Zhong Yi was already capable of helping other Celestial Destiny Seekers.

An increase in the Resurrection Celestial Lord’s strength was a blessing for the entire community of Celestial Destiny Seekers in the Xin Xia Federation.

And this universal benefit wasn’t just limited to Celestial Destiny Seekers; even Guardian Beast Masters and the Bizarre could profit from it.

During dinner, Zhong Yi could sense that something was off with Shen Xuan.

After asking, he learned that Shen Xuan was nervous about the assessment from the Celestial Destiny Society Headquarters tomorrow.

After dinner, Zhong Yi called Shen Xuan over and handed him a cup of tea.

”Ah Xuan, barring any surprises, you’ll definitely pass the SS Level potential rating.”

”If you really don’t pass, it’s not your fault.”

”It’s not like you’re the one who set that rating for yourself. Just relax.”

”Once you pass the potential rating assessment tomorrow, go and redeem the Poison Absorption Whale Pill from the Celestial Destiny Society’s Treasure Vault.”

”You can start working on improving Purple Erosion’s Quality!”

Shen Xuan’s nervousness finally subsided a little after hearing Zhong Yi’s words.

He was filled with anticipation for improving Purple Erosion’s Quality.
