Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 218: Chapter 142: The Perfect Thorn, Sparrow, and Pot

The two Thorny Sparrow Hunters hadn’t changed in size, but the color of their feathers was much more vibrant than it had been yesterday.

Moreover, the texture of their feathers had also become sharper than before.

Zhong Yi used All Things Exploration to inspect the Sun Wheel Thorns, which was continuously absorbing sunlight.

[Guardian Beast Name]: Sun Wheel Thorns

[Guardian Beast Species]: Rosaceae/Rosa Genus

[Guardian Beast Level]: Extraordinary Level (3/10)

[Guardian Beast Type]: Light Element/Fire Element

[Guardian Beast Quality]: Silver

Skills:

[Drawn by Light]: Absorbs sunlight or sunlight-related Energy to grow and increase its strength at an extremely rapid pace. The sun’s Energy helps it improve its Quality while also raising its Tier without any hindrance.

[Contractual Energy Supply]: Converts its own stored Energy and transfers it to the symbiotic Creatures under its lead, restoring their expended Energy and enhancing their control over the Elements.

Exclusive Traits:

[Sun Wheel Re-rooting]: Forms Re-roots that coil among the thorns. These Re-roots can simultaneously absorb sunlight during the day and store it. At night, the Re-roots release the stored light, allowing the main plant to continue absorbing sunlight.

[Flower Dawn Energy Gathering]: When each thorn is fully charged with Energy, it will sprout a flower bud. The bud absorbs sunlight to store Energy independently. This Energy can be infused into the Re-roots or projected as a means of attack.

A quick inspection left Zhong Yi stunned to find that the Sun Wheel Thorns had already broken through the bottleneck of the Mortal Beast Tier.

In just over a day, it had successfully reached the Extraordinary Tier.

It had become the first Extraordinary Tier Guardian Beast under Zhong Yi’s command!

The speed at which the Sun Wheel Thorns advanced in Tier truly startled Zhong Yi.

In less than thirty hours, its Tier had advanced from Mortal Beast First Level to Extraordinary Third Level.

Even though the Sun Wheel Thorns possessed the two Exclusive Traits, Sun Wheel Re-rooting and Flower Dawn Energy Gathering, which worked with its Basic Skill, Drawn by Light, to let it absorb sunlight and grow stronger even at night, this rate of advancement was still somewhat abnormal.

’At this rate, the Sun Wheel Thorns will probably reach the Fantasy Tier before long.’

’Judging by its current rate of Tier advancement, its Quality improvement can’t be far behind, no matter how slow it might be.’

Before coming to check on the Sun Wheel Thorns, Zhong Yi had been full of expectations for it.

Now, the Sun Wheel Thorns hadn’t just met his expectations; it had given him an incredible surprise.

The Skill that Sun Wheel Thorns gained upon reaching the Extraordinary Tier, Contractual Energy Supply, allowed it to provide its own stored Energy to the Thorny Sparrow Hunters.

Not only could it restore the Thorny Sparrow Hunters’ expended Energy during battle, increasing their combat endurance, but it could also enhance their control over the Elements, allowing them to better utilize Flame Energy in combat.

Since the Sun Wheel Thorns itself didn’t have much combat prowess, its Skills could support the Thorny Sparrow Hunters, whose primary role was fighting.

Their synergy was already producing an effect where the whole was greater than the sum of its parts.

The Skill Contractual Energy Supply, gained through the Sun Wheel Thorns’ Tier advancement, served to perfect the defensive system jointly established by the Sun Wheel Thorns, the Thorny Sparrow Hunters, and the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot.

The Thorny Sparrow Hunters’ Tier must have also increased.

Zhong Yi used All Things Exploration to inspect the two Thorny Sparrow Hunters circling above his head.

[Guardian Beast Name]: Thorny Sparrow Hunter

[Guardian Beast Species]: Parasitic Finch Species/Weiqie Genus

[Guardian Beast Level]: Extraordinary Level (3/10)

[Guardian Beast Type]: Light Element/Fire Element

[Guardian Beast Quality]: Silver Quality

Skills:

[Sparrow Companion Thorn]: Seeks out a primary thorn plant to parasitize. After establishing parasitism, it will gain the thorn plant’s attributes and strength. If the thorn plant dies, it will also die due to the Contractual Relationship.

[Supporting Feather Blade]: During battle, it scatters specialized arrow-like feathers from the underside of its wings. These detached feathers coordinate with the main body to attack a designated target. Each time these guided feathers strike the target, they increase the damage the target will receive from subsequent attacks.

Exclusive Traits:

[Life-Sacrifice Burst]: Sacrifices its own Energy to enter a burst state, gaining a short-term boost in strength. After the burst state ends, it will fall into a state of exhaustion.

[Fire Feather Life-Burning]: During combat, it tempers its specialized Parasitic Feathers with fire. After these feathers are embedded in an enemy’s body, they will continuously burn the target’s Life Force. The rate at which Life Force is burned is proportional to the number of feathers embedded in the target.

Because the two Thorny Sparrow Hunters were a mated pair, they both gained the same Skill upon their Tier advancement.

This was related to the biological traits of Thorny Sparrow Hunters.

The Skill they both acquired upon advancing to the Extraordinary Tier was called Supporting Feather Blade.

Despite the Thorny Sparrow Hunter’s small size, it was covered in over 2,000 feathers, each one meticulously arranged.

Due to the effect of Supporting Feather Blade, the arrow-like feathers that grew on the underside of a Thorny Sparrow Hunter’s wings could detach and coordinate with the sparrow in battle, launching guided attacks on a designated target.

Furthermore, these Feather Blades wouldn’t lose their effectiveness after hitting a target.

Instead, they would continue to assail the target in tandem with the Thorny Sparrow Hunter’s own attacks until the Feather Blades were destroyed.

The damage dealt by the Thorny Sparrow Hunter’s Feather Blade attacks wasn’t very high, at most causing superficial wounds.
