Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 217: Chapter 141: The Sun Wheel Thorns’ Changes

All Silver-Eating Insects and Gold-Eating Insects evolved from ordinary Iron-Eating Insects.

This was precisely why the prices of Silver-Eating Insects and Gold-Eating Insects remained so high, with the latter even being treated as a Foundation Level resource.

If Silver-Eating Insects and Gold-Eating Insects could lay Insect Eggs, no matter how low the reproduction rate, the price difference between Mithril and the Refined Mithril produced by Silver-Eating Insects wouldn’t be 10 to 15 times.

The price gap between Refined Gold and the Refined Pure Gold produced by Gold-Eating Insects was even higher, reaching nearly twenty times.

If the Zhenchong Commerce Association could purchase a large quantity of Juvenile Stage Iron-Eating Insects, it would save Zhong Yi the trouble of finding other buyers for them.

Fu Hongning’s heart skipped a beat upon hearing this.

’What!’

’Zhong Yi is actually willing to sell newly hatched Iron-Eating Insects, and at a price of 100,000 Alliance Coins each.’

’Compared to a one-year-old Iron-Eating Insect, this is like spending a year raising it, yet cutting the purchase price in half.’

When the Zhenchong Commerce Association wanted to develop a new business function, time was never the issue.

The real question was whether they had the foundation to support it!

Originally, Fu Hongning had lacked confidence in the Zhenchong Commerce Association’s plan to start selling refined metals.

He had feared that the association’s current resources wouldn’t be enough to purchase a sufficient number of Iron-Eating Insects from the outside world to serve as the foundation for this new venture.

But now, Zhong Yi’s words showed Fu Hongning a turning point.

”Lord Zhong Yi, may I ask how many Juvenile Stage Iron-Eating Insects you are able to sell?”

As he asked this, Fu Hongning held his breath, his voice filled with an unconcealable mixture of anxiety and anticipation.

Zhong Yi smiled and said,

”This time, we can probably trade around seven or eight hundred Juvenile Stage Iron-Eating Insects.”

Zhong Yi’s words caused the anticipation in Fu Hongning’s eyes to dim instantly.

Seven or eight hundred Iron-Eating Insects might be a lot for smaller shops.

But for an established power like the Zhenchong Commerce Association, especially when they wanted to use the insects to build an entire business function, seven or eight hundred was simply not enough.

Just as Fu Hongning was about to speak, he heard Zhong Yi continue,

”For a long time to come, Zhao Kai will be diligently incubating Iron-Eating Insects.”

”A new batch of Juvenile Stage Iron-Eating Insects will be available for sale roughly every month.”

”Conservatively, we should be able to sell 3,000 to 5,000 Iron-Eating Insect larvae each month.”

”Later on, if the Zhenchong Commerce Association needs more, we can increase production.”

Zhong Yi’s words made Fu Hongning realize that Zhong Yi must have a method to increase the success rate of hatching Iron-Eating Insect Eggs.

Zhong Yi hadn’t deliberately avoided the topic during his dealings with Fu Hongning.

Zhong Yi was now a Healing-type Celestial Destiny Seeker, with the entire Xin Xia Federation backing him.

He had no reason to fear being targeted for controlling an extremely valuable resource production channel.

The current Zhong Yi had the confidence to negotiate with any power.

”Lord Zhong Yi, I would like to place an order for 200,000 Juvenile Stage Iron-Eating Insects in the short term.”

”I’ll give you a deposit of three billion Federation Coins first. Give me two months to raise the remaining amount, and I can have it ready for you.”

Fu Hongning was simply too tempted by Zhong Yi’s price for the Juvenile Stage Iron-Eating Insects.

Even if the refined metal business didn’t work out, raising these Juvenile Stage insects to adulthood and selling them would still earn the Zhenchong Commerce Association a massive amount of capital.

With the techniques and experience the Zhenchong Commerce Association possessed, they could easily raise these Juvenile Stage insects to maturity.

At 100,000 per insect, 200,000 Juvenile Stage Iron-Eating Insects would cost 20 billion Federation Coins.

This gave Zhong Yi a clear glimpse into the profound resources of an established power like the Zhenchong Commerce Association.

Fu Hongning was certainly putting up these 20 billion Federation Coins in a way that wouldn’t affect the Zhenchong Commerce Association’s normal operations.

Even so, Zhong Yi still found Fu Hongning incredibly bold.

”200,000 is no small number. Since Vice President Fu can raise the funds in two months,”

”I will also strive to deliver the first 30,000 Juvenile Stage Iron-Eating Insects within two months.”

”The remaining insects will all be delivered within half a year.”

To cultivate Juvenile Stage Iron-Eating Insects, Zhong Yi just needed to purchase adult Iron-Eating Insects carrying eggs.

The Craftsmen’s Guild could supply large quantities of such egg-bearing adult insects.

’But to cultivate so many Iron-Eating Insect larvae, Zhao Kai will have to work hard for the next six months.’

’Coincidentally, Zhao Kai has also been planning to recruit more Craftsman Apprentices recently.’

The funds earned from selling the Iron-Eating Insects would be used to train these Craftsman Apprentices recruited by Zhao Kai and Wu Qing.

And to stockpile the various materials needed for concocting Potions.

In this world, if one wanted to strengthen a Guardian Beast, especially a High Tier Guardian Beast, Potions concocted by a Creator were indispensable.

Creators were the primary productive force for the entire Guardian Beast Master community.

Zhong Yi was more than willing to pour vast resources into building his own team of Creators.

Hearing this, Fu Hongning thanked Zhong Yi again, his voice filled with excitement.

Then, he directly transferred a sum of five billion Federation Coins to Zhong Yi’s account.

After finalizing the cooperation with Fu Hongning, Zhong Yi did not stay at the Zhenchong Commerce Association for long.

He departed for his own residence, preparing to check on the growth of his Sun Wheel Thorns and Thorny Sparrow Hunter.

’The Sun Wheel Thorns have been absorbing sunlight for over a day. I wonder if they’ve risen by a minor Level or two, from Mortal Beast Tier One to Mortal Beast Tier Two or Three.’

’At this rate, the Sun Wheel Thorns will be able to advance to the Extraordinary Tier in less than a month.’

After Zhong Yi left, Fu Wei couldn’t help but speak up.

”Dad, that’s five billion Federation Coins.”

”You just transferred it directly like that. Aren’t you afraid there will be problems with the deal later?”

”Didn’t you always warn me not to pay upfront when cooperating with others?”

”Mom said the same thing before!”

Fu Hongning turned and looked at Fu Wei silently for a long moment before letting out a deep sigh.

’I really can’t entrust the affairs of the Zhenchong Commerce Association to my youngest son, Fu Wei, in the future. I’ll have to hand them over to my eldest daughter as much as possible.’

’Fu Wei’s Beastmaster Talent is so outstanding; from now on, I’ll just let him focus on the path of a Guardian Beast Master.’

If his eldest daughter hadn’t gone to Beihan City to develop the market, Fu Hongning probably wouldn’t have chosen to bring Fu Wei to meet Zhong Yi this time.

Fu Hongning couldn’t be bothered to explain to Fu Wei, but Tang Yan sighed and said,

”Lord Zhong Yi took the initiative to help your father by healing two of his Guardian Beasts.”

”Just being able to exchange five billion Federation Coins for the full recovery of your father’s two Guardian Beasts is already a net gain for our family.”

”Do you think a Healing-type Celestial Destiny Seeker with an SSS Level potential rating has any need to swindle people who’ve helped him, just for five billion?”

”Even you know about keeping up appearances among your classmates. With Lord Zhong Yi’s status, he certainly considers his reputation far more than you do.”

”Alright, hurry up and get to Starlight Academy.”

”For the next few months, you need to work hard and try to join a team with an average potential rating of A+ Level before the final exams.”

”If you can get an ’Excellent’ in three out of five subjects on your final exams, I’ll promise to buy you a villa covering seven or eight hundred square meters in the Central District.”

”That way, it’ll be convenient for you to invite friends over for parties on the weekends!”

Zhong Yi was unaware of this little episode that occurred at the Zhenchong Commerce Association after he left.

At this moment, his attention was completely captivated by the furiously growing Sun Wheel Thorns.

Just the night before last, Zhong Yi had planted the Sun Wheel Thorns at the base of the Iron Thorn Wood Frame.

Back then, the longest thorns were only three to four meters long.

But now, even the shortest of the Sun Wheel Thorns’ original tendrils had grown to several dozen meters in length.

They had climbed up several of the interconnected Iron Thorn Wood Frames nearby, and each tendril was thicker than Zhong Yi’s waist.

The golden sun wheel patterns on them shimmered brilliantly in the sunlight.

Watching the tip of one of the tendrils, he could see it continuously lengthening at a speed visible to the naked eye.

In addition to the Sun Wheel Thorns’ original tendrils, many new, tender ones had sprouted from its roots.

The growth rate of these young tendrils was even more pronounced than that of the ones that had already reached dozens of meters in length.
