The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 1296: Chapter 1296: Matchmaker Appreciation Banquet

Although they know internships are linked to academic performance, no one expected it to depend on the comprehensive scores of both this semester and the last semester.

That’s kind of tricky. If everyone had known this earlier... they might have been a lot more serious in their studies.

As many people were rendered speechless, Lin Tian was also left speechless.

Because Hua Dongxu mentioned, ’except for some special exceptions’.

Who could these special exception students be? Lin Tian thought about it over and over, it was likely just him, maybe at most one other person.

It could be said that this statement was probably included because of him.

If comprehensive scores were the measure, Lin Tian might be one of the lowest. Last semester, he didn’t attend even a week’s worth of classes, never met all the teachers, and his comprehensive score was at best a passing grade. And this semester... it was even worse than last semester...

Therefore, Lin Tian is an exception. He is the only one who could qualify for such exceptions to everyone’s satisfaction. As for others, if their scores aren’t enough, why should they participate?

Pulling strings? That would be a joke.

Lin Tian couldn’t help but smile wryly; it seemed like the teachers had their eye on him, a situation he couldn’t escape from.

”Also, I want to tell everyone that this isn’t the only internship of the year, and not just over the summer; internships will happen annually, and paid internships may be organized during holidays or dual cultivation. So don’t be discouraged, there will be plenty of opportunities!”

Saying this, Hua Dongxu specifically glanced at Lin Tian then continued smiling: ”The special exception students I mentioned, if they have any special contributions, can also join the internship.”

To most people, this sounded like pointless talk. Special contributions? Can those be handed out like that? Do people who make special contributions need this internship?

After clarifying this matter, Hua Dongxu started the formal lecture.

He was giving the lecture because he lost a bet to Zhao Xuefeng; although specifically authorized by the education department and the university, he couldn’t help other teachers with their lessons. Thus, this was a public class, so anyone could attend, and roll call wasn’t taken.

This was the first time Lin Tian attended Hua Dongxu’s lecture, and to be honest, it was pretty good. Thorough yet simple, the audience included not only freshmen but also sophomores, juniors, and even seniors; as long as they listened attentively, they would all gain something.

It was evident that he’d prepared his lecture notes and put in significant effort.

After the lecture, Liou Qingcheng had taken many notes again. Aside from this, she drew a chubby pig’s head in the upper right corner of her notebook and pointed at it, laughingly saying to Lin Tian, ”Look, here’s your portrait. Big ears, big nose, big pig head.”

Lin Tian wasn’t upset, he smiled and replied, ”If I’m the pig head, you’re the sow. Marry a pig and follow the pig, laughing at me means laughing at yourself.”

Liou Qingcheng pinched Lin Tian gently on the waist and scoffed, ”Vain, I haven’t agreed to marry you yet.”

The lengthy lecture, lasting ninety minutes in total, soon came to an end. When the class bell rang again, no students gathered around the podium seeking answers from the teacher. It wasn’t that Hua Dongxu’s personal allure was less than Zhao Xuefeng’s, but it was lunchtime, and the hungry students rushed to the cafeteria and restaurants immediately. Even with many dining options on campus, they differ in proximity and quality, don’t they?

As Hua Dongxu packed up, he said to Lin Tian, ”Lin Tian, don’t rush off. I want to treat you to a meal.”

Lin Tian leaned back in his chair, laughing, ”Sure, another free meal.”

By this time, the classroom had mostly emptied out, and Xv Zhina naturally approached Liou Qingcheng, asking, ”What do you want to eat for lunch? Dongxu and I are up for anything; we’re never tired of Celestial Dragon Continent’s cuisine.”

The intimate ”Dongxu” already showcased the relationship between these two. Plus, their exchanged glances made it clear they were deeply in love.

Liou Qingcheng thought for a moment and asked, ”Do you handle spicy food? I feel like eating spicy.”

”No way.” Lin Tian immediately refused.

”Why not?”

”Your stomach isn’t well; spicy or cold food is off-limits.”

”Hmph!”

...

Near Kanyue City Medical University is a Student Street, where most restaurants advertise quality food at affordable prices, thriving at this hour.

However, Hua Dongxu, having managed to invite Lin Tian for a meal, chose a location other than Student Street, leading the group instead to the nearby Quanjude. Along the way, he praised the three methods of enjoying Kanyue City’s roast duck, as if he were the local and Lin Tian and Liou Qingcheng were the out-of-towners.

They booked a medium-sized private room, seated the four as meals and drinks were served; Hua Dongxu poured red wine into everyone’s glass, exchanged a glance with Xv Zhina, and stood with his glass in hand.

”Lin Tian, on behalf of Zhina and me, I toast to you with this drink. As per Celestial Dragon Continent customs, you should count as the matchmaker for us.” Hua Dongxu stated earnestly.

”Pfft~ Cough cough...” Liou Qingcheng couldn’t hold back her laughter and quickly waved it off, ”No worries, just when I picture Lin Tian as a matchmaker, it makes me giggle a bit.”

”Funny sense of humor.” Lin Tian rolled his eyes at her, picked up his glass, clinked it with theirs, and drank it all together.

Once seated again, Lin Tian waved it off, ”We’re not into formalities, let’s not keep toasting. Let’s keep it casual.”

”Haha, alright, casual is good.” Hua Dongxu nodded.

Liou Qingcheng remarked, ”Don’t thank him, I feel like he’s just messing with you two, with whatever lousy ideas he’s come up with. Luckily, no harm done.”

Xv Zhina laughed, ”Actually, Lin Tian’s lousy ideas really worked. You don’t get it, you have to tackle him with such methods.”

Hua Dongxu: ”...”

Lin Tian grabbed a lotus leaf bun, rolled in tender roast duck meat, garlic paste, and sweet bean sauce, placed it in front of Liou Qingcheng’s plate, and changed the subject, asking: ”Judging by the looks of things, are you two having a secret affair at school?”

”Secret affair?”

Both being from Xiaocheng, this term was fresh to them.

”Means sneaking around.” At this point, Lin Tian leaned in a bit, looking at Hua Dongxu, ”Isn’t it thrilling?”

Hua Dongxu found the question amusing yet laughable and regrettably replied, ”Thrilling as it is, it feels strange.”

”Exactly, I think you two don’t need to go through this. People are open-minded these days; you’re both willing, nobody would oppose it. I believe everyone would wish you well.” Lin Tian said. Liou Qingcheng nodded, agreeing with Lin Tian’s point.

Hua Dongxu and Xv Zhina exchanged a glance, then both smiled wryly at each other.
