The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 1276: Chapter 1276: Efficient Crisis Management

After Wang Daoran was handcuffed, the cops didn’t bother being polite. In no time they pushed him out of the office.

Standing at the office door, Wang Daoran still looked back inside reluctantly, then, with mixed feelings and heavy steps, walked down the corridor he knew best.

Click, click, click...

It was the sound of leather shoes on tile; once, when he was riding high, it sounded pleasing to the ear. Now it was grating.

Around five forty that afternoon, about eighty percent of the employees working in the Wang Mansion personally saw their chairman with a pair of silver handcuffs on his wrists, escorted out of the building by a swarm of police.

Most of the staff only glanced over before consciously shifting their gaze away. On instinct, they didn’t dare—and didn’t want—to watch this scene. Deep down, they even found it hard to believe.

The chairman who owned hundreds of billions in assets was taken down just like that?

All the way along, proud as he was, Wang Daoran kept his head lowered. He felt the gazes around him made his whole body uncomfortable.

He’d thought once he walked out of the Wang Mansion and got into the police car he could escape those eyes. But as soon as he reached the front door, a large crowd of reporters with microphones and cameras swarmed forward.

Wang Daoran was very experienced when it came to being ”surrounded” by reporters; neither humble nor arrogant, polite and easygoing, as long as he answered a few questions calmly, he could ”break through the encirclement.”

But this time, could he still talk like he used to?

...

The Wang Group’s chairman, Wang Daoran, was arrested on the spot in the Wang Mansion for gambling, dealing weed, trafficking, tax evasion, and money laundering!

Before the ”Poker Hall Drug-Dealing” incident, Wang Daoran had always been a successful entrepreneur. He’d given plenty of speeches, appeared in many positive news reports, and done charity work.

But starting today, the persona of ”entrepreneur and philanthropist Wang Daoran” collapsed, shattered to pieces.

A lot of people were already following the Wang Group; now that this news broke, it flooded the entire internet. Curses erupted from all sides.

Besides its stock price dropping, the Wang Group’s reputation was tanking as well. The chain reaction was immediate: partners pulled their investments at once, projects big and small were put on hold, and some employees quit while customers started returning goods.

The war had begun! If the Wang Group couldn’t defend itself in this war, it would be facing the reality of bankruptcy and closure.

And with various minor crises popping up these past few days, the Wang Group’s higher-ups and shareholders already had their guard up. Within an hour of Wang Daoran’s arrest, the major shareholders gathered and set out five action items.

1. Immediately pay back all evaded taxes plus interest in full.

2. Issue a clarification announcement across the entire internet, stating that Wang Daoran’s personal behavior has nothing to do with the company; the senior management had no knowledge and did not benefit.

3. Issue a public apology online.

4. All purchases made within the last three days can be returned or exchanged as long as there’s no man-made damage.

5. All projects are to continue operating; nothing is allowed to be abandoned halfway!

All five points were completed within three hours of the incident. The efficiency was high and the effect was good; it immediately triggered a wave of reaction online. Although people were still cursing, at least it wasn’t wall-to-wall abuse anymore—this time there were people speaking up for the Wang Group.

The stock stopped falling, and even ticked back up a little.

Of course, the one taking the worst beating was Wang Daoran!

As for all this, Lin Tian only skimmed it, then tossed it to the back of his mind.

Even if the Wang Group’s PR was a massive success this time, this stain on Wang Daoran was never going to be wiped clean. And the Wang Group had been hurt down to the bone, drained of vitality; it was no longer as untouchable as before.

But even so, Lin Tian still didn’t feel satisfied—like a fishbone stuck in his throat; until it was out, he wouldn’t be comfortable.

As for the twelve percent equity in his hand, the best move was to sell it off in the short term. First, because it was free anyway—whether he sold high or low, it was all profit. Second, to avoid having to pour money in if the Wang Group really went under.

Lin Tian simply handed this matter to Bai Shishi and let her find a buyer; when the time came, he’d just sign his name.

The day after the Wang Group started handling its crisis, Lin Tian took Liou Qingcheng, Bai Shishi, Mei Ruyan, Zhou Mi, plus Meng Nan, Sisi, Li, Wu Yong, Pang Yu, Tian Ming, and five stunning beauties, and drove out for some fun.

As for Jiang Pan Die... she wasn’t that free.

The destination was the farmhouse they’d gone to on the night of the Festival of Joy; Lin Tian had booked out the whole place a few days in advance.

It was already mid-June. The weather was hot, but it was still fairly cool at the farmhouse, and there were plenty of entertainment options.

Behind the farmhouse ran a natural stream where you could fish, swim, and even play with water jet devices.

In this blazing heat, swimming was naturally the crowd favorite, so everyone changed into swimsuits and trunks. Apart from Sisi, who was pregnant and couldn’t go in the water, and Meng Nan who stayed with her, everyone else plunged into the river.

Very quickly, Lin Tian discovered a little secret about Liou Qingcheng: this girl only dared to play in the shallows, because... she couldn’t swim.

Liou Qingcheng pouted and complained to Lin Tian, ”How come you all know how to swim and I don’t?”

Women are adorable when they act spoiled, especially beautiful women.

Half of Lin Tian’s body was in the water and reacted immediately. He gave an evil grin, grabbed both of Liou Qingcheng’s hands, and said, ”I can teach you, hands-on.”

When she heard the words ”hands-on” stressed like that, a flush rushed over Liou Qingcheng’s face. She snapped, ”You’re such a walking pile of dirty thoughts, I’m not learning from you!”

”Hey, it’s easy. With me here, you’ll be fine,” Lin Tian said seriously.

”Fine then...”

Once again, it proved you can’t fully trust what men say.

After ten-odd minutes of ”teaching,” Lin Tian had basically copped a feel of every inch of Liou Qingcheng, even making her swallow mouthfuls of water, and then, with a straight face, said, ”The more water you choke on, the faster you’ll learn.”

Liou Qingcheng and Lin Tian were practically an ”old married couple” by now; how could she just let him bully her that easily? In the middle of the lesson she even yanked his trunks off three times in a row. Of course, since Lin Tian’s lower half was underwater and everyone else was far away, no one saw anything.

Fine... learning to swim had turned into flirting. This scene was spotted by Bai Shishi and Mei Ruyan, and they teased Liou Qingcheng about it for ages.

Before heading ashore, Tian Ming and the others used a net to haul up quite a few fish, then went over to the orchard and picked a bunch of fruit—watermelons, grapes, and juicy peaches. As the sky filled with evening clouds, they headed back to the yard loaded down and started making dinner.

Lin Tian snuck a break and slipped up to the roof with Liou Qingcheng, Bai Shishi, and Mei Ruyan, carrying some wine. They lounged on the soft, comfy sofas, watching the azure sky, the crimson sunset clouds, and the somewhat dreamlike setting sun.
