The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 1286: Chapter 1286: The Huddled Shadow

Zhang Ya’Er has a great drinking capacity; two bottles of beer are nothing more than drinking water for her. According to her, beer is at most used for rinsing the mouth, not satisfying at all. So, she ordered a bottle of high-proof Wuliangye.

The bottle cap was opened, releasing a strong aroma dense with fragrance.

Zhang Ya’Er wanted to pour Lin Tian a drink, but unexpectedly Lin Tian covered his glass and said, ”I still need to drive later, no more drinking.”

”But you already drank beer just now.”

”I drank about a quarter of a bottle; that’s already a lot. Any more would be too much.”

Zhang Ya’Er wrinkled her nose and complained playfully, ”It’s the day I got out of jail, what’s wrong with drinking a bit more for my welcome? Just hire a driver later.”

Midway through her sentence, Zhang Ya’Er suddenly squinted and laughed, she propped her face with her hand and said with a grin, ”Could it be you’re afraid of getting drunk and taken advantage of by me?”

”Think what you will, I can’t drink more. I need to go back and accompany my girlfriend later.”

”You’re really something...” Zhang Ya’Er said with a pout, ”Saying such things in front of a woman who admires you, it’s truly heartbreaking, scumbag!”

Lin Tian laughed out of irritation and leaned back in his chair, ”Not drinking and sleeping with you makes me a scumbag? Your views are really twisted!”

”Scumbag!”

”Keep insulting me, and I’ll be rude to you!”

”Scumbag!”

...

In the end, Lin Tian still managed to hold onto his last line of defense—not a sip of the white liquor, and even switched the beer for soda water.

However, Zhang Ya’Er did drink quite joyously, consuming more than half of the 500 ml bottle of Wuliangye, with a rosy, half-drunk appearance that was extremely captivating, especially when leaning forward revealing a flash of skin, a mix of black and white making one’s blood surge.

Exiting the restaurant, Zhang Ya’Er’s walking was somewhat light-headed, her body half-hanging on Lin Tian, pointing her finger at his nose and mumbling something incoherent, which Lin Tian didn’t understand at all.

”Claiming you have a good drinking capacity, my foot!” Lin Tian said, speechless.

”Hey! You, who didn’t drink a sip, are looking down on me? How about we go back and see who gets drunk first, whoever does is the son!”

Lin Tian heard this clearly, but had no intention of responding.

Suddenly, a cool evening breeze blew by, bringing comfort.

But Zhang Ya’Er didn’t feel comfortable at all, suddenly pushing away from Lin Tian, running a few steps towards the corner of the wall, then began to vomit with a loud ’wah’.

Lin Tian didn’t bother with her but took a bottle of mineral water from the Porsche, waiting until she was almost done vomiting before handing it to her.

Zhang Ya’Er took it without hesitation, unscrewed the bottle cap, and rinsed her mouth twice, gulping.

”Can’t you feel sick from drinking so much?” Lin Tian asked, truly wondering if this woman was mad, even being happy doesn’t require this!

Zhang Ya’Er smiled bitterly and said, ”You wouldn’t understand, life at the card game... never mind, won’t talk about it with you. Vomiting a little makes me feel better. By the way, I have no place to stay now in Kanyue City, so you have to take responsibility for me. Where are we sleeping tonight?”

Lin Tian rolled his eyes at her, unappreciative. This girl seemed to use every word to provoke someone.

Luckily, Lin Tian had already been intimate with Miaoqiu several times; really, when that girl flirted, it was impossible for anyone to resist, Zhang Ya’Er pales greatly in comparison to Miaoqiu, a considerable distance apart.

With such high standards, naturally, immunity is also high. Lin Tian, seemingly not getting the hint in her words, said, ”I’ll take you to the company.”

”What do you mean? Going to the company this late?”

”You’re considered mid-level staff at the company now, naturally allocated a dormitory.”

Zhang Ya’Er stared at Lin Tian’s face for several seconds before finally laughing and saying, ”Looking at you like this, you seem like a gentleman.”

”That’s what I am.”

”Earlier, just saw you’re handsome, and with a good foundation, I wanted to taste a bit of this tender grass. But looking at it now...”

”What?”

”Seems more delectable.”

”...”

...

The Porsche drove on the highway while Lin Tian kept checking the rearview mirror.

”What’s wrong?” Zhang Ya’Er noticed his unusual behavior and asked.

”I feel someone is tailing us.”

Zhang Ya’Er teased, ”Could it be your legitimate girlfriend coming to catch you in the act?”

”I don’t know who it is, just feel someone following us, can’t spot the target.”

Lin Tian’s voice subconsciously became somber, having a strong intuition, it wasn’t unfounded. Yet, there weren’t many cars behind, Lin Tian couldn’t spot a suspicious target. Either the car had been tracked, or it was a professional who was very skilled at tracking and counter-tracking.

Looking at Lin Tian’s serious expression, Zhang Ya’Er asked, ”Then what do we do?”

”It’s fine, let them follow. Nothing to be afraid of.” Lin Tian said calmly.

Over the past year, he had made numerous enemies—the Wang Family, the Xu Family (Xu Beishan and his siblings), practitioners from Sakula Country, and Kun Yun and his apprentice; the people following them were definitely not ordinary.

The Porsche kept driving for nearly thirty minutes before finally stopping in the parking lane below the Black Gold Company building.

Strangely, his speed wasn’t high, yet the followers didn’t keep up, disappearing halfway through; during the last stretch, there was only his vehicle on the road.

Could it have been an illusion?

Putting aside unnecessary thoughts, Lin Tian unbuckled his seatbelt, pointing to a twelve-story building on the left of the Black Gold Company, said, ”That’s the dormitory building, I already arranged a one-bedroom, one-bathroom, one-living room, and one-kitchen setup for you, suitable for you to live alone.”

”Hmm?” Zhang Ya’Er leaned on the passenger seat, nodding dazedly.

”Are you drunk like this, can you walk?” Lin Tian asked.

Zhang Ya’Er responsibly unbuckled her seatbelt and said, ”I can, I’m only five-fifths drunk.”

”Okay, get off, and I’ll take you there.”

Opening the car door, Zhang Ya’Er felt another breeze, which sobered her up a bit.

Lin Tian observed her, noticing she was relatively alert, at least walking straight and steps unwavering.

The thought of supporting her was dispelled, why bother when she could walk herself; doing otherwise seemed like taking advantage.

Walking side by side, maintaining a twenty-centimeter gap between them, Lin Tian said, ”Your dormitory key is at the company front desk, need to pick it up first.”

Zhang Ya’Er nodded noncommittally.

As they passed by a white Mercedes-Benz, Lin Tian’s peripheral vision suddenly detected a shadow curled behind the car, elongated by the streetlight.

Someone was hiding behind the car, and the silence was eerie!

Lin Tian was just about to alert Zhang Ya’Er when the figure jumped out, holding a shining silver boning knife.
