The Delicate Darling with Her Rough Man

Although making desks and chairs for the school wasn’t technically their job, everyone knew the school’s situation. The principal had already subsidized it with a lot of his own money, so now that the student’s desks were broken again, everyone was willing to pitch in.

As for Hu Xiuqiao, she only took on one extra class and didn’t do any of the other work at all.

The other women, on the other hand, took on two classes and even helped grade the male teachers’ homework, making their workload much heavier than Hu Xiuqiao’s.

Gu Jiaojiao, in particular, had the heaviest workload of all.

But right now, it was Hu Xiuqiao who was complaining the most.

Now, the principal had overheard her slandering him behind his back, leaving everyone speechless. But seeing Hu Xiuqiao kneel before the principal in front of the other female teachers just to keep her job left them even more at a loss for words.

The principal himself was startled. He hadn’t expected Hu Xiuqiao to suddenly kneel. He immediately sidestepped, his tone growing even colder.

”Teacher Hu, what are you doing? Get up immediately. Is this how a teacher should behave?”

But Hu Xiuqiao couldn’t be bothered with that. She was a crying mess, with tears and snot streaming down her face.

”Principal, I truly know I was wrong. I’ll never do it again. Please, give me another chance! This job is so important to me. I’m begging you.”

The principal felt a sense of stifling frustration. The whole issue was that Hu Xiuqiao had been spouting nonsense. But now, with her kneeling like this, she was forcing his hand, making it impossible for him to punish her.

Taking a deep breath, the principal said coldly, ”Alright. We’ll let it go this time. But if there’s a next time, there won’t be a place for you here anymore.”

The moment the principal relented, Hu Xiuqiao immediately stood up without the slightest delay.

Seeing Hu Xiuqiao stand up, the principal didn’t turn to leave. Instead, he addressed the issue she had raised about the spot being given to Gu Jiaojiao, offering an explanation.

”Regarding the matter of the spot, I hadn’t originally planned to discuss it publicly. But now that everyone knows, I’ll explain it to prevent any ’misunderstandings.’”

This ”misunderstanding” was clearly aimed at Hu Xiuqiao’s recent accusation.

Ordinarily, Hu Xiuqiao would have definitely stepped forward to say a few words. But having just angered the principal, she felt indignant but didn’t dare say another word.

The principal paid no mind to anyone’s expression and simply began to speak.

”The reason the spot was given to Teacher Gu this time is that she was the one who found someone to help get the funding for the desks approved.”

”You all know how long I’ve been working on this without success. The reason it suddenly came through this time is because of Teacher Gu. However, she wasn’t the one who told me; I found out by asking around myself.”

”Teacher Gu is the type to do good deeds without seeking recognition. If I hadn’t specifically inquired, no one would have ever known about this. It’s because of this spirit of hers that I feel confident entrusting this matter to her.”

”That’s the first point. The second is that we’re in a hurry this time. If we were to wait, post the announcement like last time, set a date for an exam, and then go through a review process, the whole thing would probably take over a month.”

”You all know our school’s situation; we can’t afford to wait that long. So in this matter, I had to impose on Teacher Gu.”

The principal explained the whole story from beginning to end, crystal clear. Now, the two other female teachers, who might have had some doubts before, no longer dared to have any objections.

Not only did they have no objections, but the way they looked at Gu Jiaojiao had also changed.

After all, they never expected Gu Jiaojiao to have such deep ”connections.”

Gu Jiaojiao could accomplish something the principal couldn’t. It was clear she was no ordinary person.
