Pokemon: Reborn As Ash, I'll Conquer Every League

Chapter 291: Chapter 291: Catching the Taillow

Chapter 291: Catching the Taillow

”Legendary Pokemon Master? What does that mean?”

May looked at Max with a puzzled expression.

She had always felt a sense of fear towards Pokemon and Pokemon Trainers. She knew what the Silver Conference was, but she had never paid attention to the finer details.

”Oh, big sister, you’re so dense! Legendary Pokemon Master refers to Ash having caught a legendary Pokemon. You didn’t even know that?”

”I didn’t.”

May shook her head, still half-understanding. She still didn’t have a more concrete concept of it.

”So, Ash, are you also here to challenge the Gym while you’re at it?” Norman asked.

Ash shook his head: ”The Petalburg Gym is a 3v3 battle. I plan to catch a few Pokemon in the Hoenn region first before coming to challenge it. My previous Pokemon have all been left at Professor Oaks Laboratory for special training.”

As a fanboy of Professor Oak, Max looked at Ash with an excited face: ”Professor Oaks Laboratory? Could it be the legendary laboratory of Professor Oak?”

”Yes.”

”Wow, Ash, I didn’t expect you to know Professor Oak! That’s so cool!”

”Professor Oak is very kind. Max, if you want to meet Professor Oak, I can contact him and get you a spot in his summer camp.”

To be honest, Ash didn’t want this brat, Max, to travel with him.

Even though this brat could trigger a lot of plot points, a brat is still a brat, and he would cause a lot of trouble.

”Really?” Max was ecstatic. He turned to look at Norman, ”Dad...”

Norman didn’t hesitate at all and said: ”Ash, if it’s not too much trouble, then please do!”

Norman and his wife were famously loving. May and Max, the two siblings, were more like accidents, so given the chance to have some time alone as a couple, they were eager for the siblings to leave quickly.

”It’s a small matter. Even if Max wants to study at the Professor’s laboratory, it doesn’t matter. I spent my childhood at the Professor’s laboratory.”

Afterward, Ash contacted Professor Oak. In less than thirty minutes, an invitation to the summer camp hosted by Professor Oak was sent to the Petalburg Gym’s email, along with a plane ticket.

Of course, Ash handled the ticket himself, and it was for a flight early tomorrow morning.

That evening, because of Ash, Caroline prepared a large table of food to entertain him. At the same time, this meal served as a farewell dinner from Norman and his wife to their two children.

At the dinner table, Norman and his wife explicitly stated that they hoped Ash would look after May, and Ash didn’t refuse.

The night passed in a rush.

In the early morning, Ash and May received a Badge case from Norman and set off in a hurry.

As for Max, he was too excited to sleep all night. Around five in the morning, he was already clamoring to go to the airport to wait for his flight. Norman and his wife couldn’t resist him, so they dropped him off at the airport early in the morning, letting him wait and board the plane on his own.

...

Not long after leaving Petalburg City, Ash and May got lost in Petalburg Woods.

”Sigh, here we go again!”

Ash lowered his head, feeling a bit dejected.

”What do you mean ’here we go again’?”

May looked at Ash, confused.

”May, haven’t you noticed that we’ve been walking in circles?”

”Hmm... now that you mention it, it does seem that way. But don’t the trees in the forest all look the same?”

”...”

”Um, Ash, shouldn’t we have lunch?” May asked timidly.

”Uh... alright.”

Ash took a box of capsules out of his backpack, picked one at random, pressed the switch, and tossed it to the side of the road.

With a ’BOOM!’, a capsule house appeared in front of May.

”Wow, this looks like that very expensive capsule house. Ash, I didn’t expect you to have something like this!” May looked at Ash in surprise.

Ash said proudly: ”Of course, this is a product sold by my company.”

”Huh?!”

”Alright, let’s go in.”

Ash first prepared food for his Pikachu and the others, as well as May’s Torchic, before starting to prepare lunch for himself and May.

A dozen minutes later.

A rich aroma spread from the capsule house into the surroundings.

”It smells so good! Ash, I didn’t expect you to know how to cook!”

May was drooling from the rich soup being stewed. She picked up her utensils, intending to have a taste first.

But Ash ruthlessly interrupted her: ”It’s not ready yet!”

It really wasn’t ready yet, because the fish Ash wanted to catch hadn’t taken the bait. If he remembered correctly, that Taillow should be nearby.

Finding that Taillow was the key to finding Brock, and also the key to getting out of the forest, so...

”But... Ash, you’ve already turned off the heat...” May said weakly.

”Taillow~”

At this moment, a majestic bird cry rang out.

The next second, with a ’crash’, a Taillow smashed through the window, intending to dive straight for their lunch.

”Finally.”

Ash’s mouth curled up slightly. His right hand quickly scooped out and accurately grabbed the Taillow in his hand.

”???”

The sudden scene gave May a big fright.

”Taillow!”

The captured Taillow struggled desperately, but Ash’s hand was like an iron cage, and it simply couldn’t break free.

Ash, holding the Taillow in one hand, greeted her: ”May, we can eat now.”

”Oh!”

Although she didn’t understand what was going on, as a seasoned foodie, May didn’t want to pay attention to the Taillow; she just wanted to eat to her heart’s content.

”Taillow, you’re very hungry, right? Now there’s a job that can cover your meals for the rest of your life. Are you willing to do it?”

Ash offered the Taillow a sponsorship policy.

”Taillow?” (What job? Can I really eat my fill?)

”Be caught by me and become my Pokemon. Not only will you be fed, but I can also help you evolve and become stronger.”

Ash’s words were like a devil’s temptation. The simple-minded Taillow thought for two and a half seconds and nodded: ”Taillow!” (Okay)

Of course, what really made it nod was May, who was busy eating. Because May had already devoured most of that pot of soup, it was afraid that if it agreed too late, there would be no food left.

Ash took out a Luxury Ball and tapped it on the Taillow. As the Poké Ball indicated a successful capture, Ash released it and brought out a bowl of Pokemon food that he had prepared long ago.

The moment Taillow saw the food, all that remained in its eyes was the word ”eat.” It didn’t even wait for Ash to speak and immediately began to wolf it down.

Meanwhile.

The Team Rocket Trio, who had been tailing Ash and the others, passed by a river and saw an empty campsite, with a plate of rice balls placed on the table in the middle of the camp.

Thus, the Team Rocket Trio activated their ”pilfering” passive ability and, without a second word, swiped the plate of rice balls.

Not long after they left, Brock, dressed as a cook, walked back carrying a bundle of firewood.

Upon seeing that his lunch was gone, the honest man flew into a rage.

He packed up the camp and angrily went to search for the thief who stole his lunch.

The Team Rocket Trio found a tree stump and prepared to enjoy their free lunch.

But the smell of the food attracted the attention of a nearby flock of Taillow.

A large flock of Taillow surrounded them.
