Pokemon: Reborn As Ash, I'll Conquer Every League

Chapter 283: Chapter 283: Rainbow Hero (4)

Chapter 283: Rainbow Hero (4)

Soon, Ash’s group arrived at the location of the Rainbow Rock.

”Ash, placing the Rainbow Feather on the Rainbow Rock will summon Ho-Oh!” said Grandpa Bonji.

”Hmm, but before that, we need to catch an uninvited guest.”

Ash looked behind the Rainbow Rock.

Sorrel and Seiko were startled and hurriedly asked, ”Ash, do you mean someone has been following us?”

”Yeah, they’ve been following us the whole way.”

As soon as Ash finished speaking, a teenage boy walked out from behind the Rainbow Rock along with two Pokémon, which were Lycanroc and Incineroar.

[Pokémon: Lycanroc (Midnight Form)] [Type: Rock] [Gender: Male] [Level: Gym Intermediate] [Ability: No Guard (Due to No Guard tactics, moves used by both parties will definitely hit)] [Potential: Elite] [Moves: Sand Attack, Double Team, Rock Throw, Howl, Bite, Rock Tomb, Rock Slide...]

[Pokémon: Incineroar] [Type: Fire + Dark] [Gender: Male] [Level: Gym Advanced] [Ability: Intimidate (Intimidates the opponent upon entering the field, causing them to flinch and lowering the opponent’s Attack)] [Potential: Elite] [Moves: Darkest Lariat, Ember, Cross Chop, Bulk Up, Throat Chop, Bite, Fury Swipes, Flamethrower, Fire Fang...]

The teenager sneered, ”Heh, as expected of the winner of the Silver Conference. I didn’t expect you to notice me.”

”Who exactly are you? What do you want by following us?” Seiko demanded.

”My name is Cross. Hand over that Rainbow Feather. The only one qualified to battle Ho-Oh is me, the strongest Trainer!” the teenager said arrogantly.

”Heh, with just these two Pokémon, you think you’re the strongest Trainer?”

Ash was truly speechless at someone bragging with just two Gym-level Pokémon.

Cross’s expression tightened, and he smiled, ”Ash, if I’m not mistaken, you shouldn’t be carrying any particularly powerful Pokémon right now, right?”

When he first identified Ash, Cross did have some reservations, but after tailing him through several cities, he had seen the four Pokémon Ash used, and none of them were Legendary Pokémon.

Plus, he hadn’t swapped any Pokémon at a Pokémon Center, which is why he decided to follow him up Tianshan Mountain to seize the opportunity to steal the Rainbow Feather.

”Oh, is that so?”

The corners of Ash’s mouth curled up slightly. He pretended to casually show off the string of Poké Balls on his belt, and also pretended to accidentally drop two Poké Balls, releasing Charizard and Lucario.

”How is this possible? How do you have so many Pokémon?”

Cross was shocked by the Poké Balls at Ash’s waist and the Charizard and Lucario he had released.

”Heh, never mind that. Regardless, your attempt to condone Pokémon attacking humans, and your attempt to plot against the Legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh—just these two charges alone are enough for you to spend a lifetime in jail.”

After Ash finished speaking, he commanded, ”Lucario, restrain them.”

”Lucario!”

Lucario, as if teleporting, instantly appeared behind Cross and Lycanroc. Before Cross could react, Lucario struck the back of his neck and knocked him unconscious.

As for Lycanroc and Incineroar, it was a bit rougher, but it was just a matter of a punch and a kick each to finish them off.

Seiko and Sorrel exclaimed in surprise at this one-shot scene, ”So strong!”

After Ash took out a rope and tied Cross up, he turned to Grandpa Bonji and said, ”Grandpa Bonji, I’ll leave them to you to watch.”

Grandpa Bonji patted his chest and said, ”No problem! Ash, you can rest assured and summon Ho-Oh!”

”Hmm, I will summon Ho-Oh, but we still have to wait a little longer.”

As Ash spoke, he looked down at his shadow, ”Marshadow, can you come out and talk?”

”Marshadow?” (Talk about what?)

Marshadow slowly emerged from Ash’s shadow.

[Pokémon: Marshadow] [Type: Fighting + Ghost] [Gender: Genderless] [Level: Secondary God] [Ability: Technician (Increases the power of low-power moves when attacking)] [Held Item: Marshadow-exclusive Z-Crystal] [Potential: Secondary God] [Moves: Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Shadow Punch, Shadow Sneak, Pursuit, Sucker Punch, Drain Punch, Spectral Thief, Close Combat...]

”Hiss!”

Seeing Marshadow’s stats, Ash gasped. Good guy, it comes with a Z-Crystal?

”Marshadow, I am the one chosen by Ho-Oh, and you are the guide responsible for leading the Hero. Do you want to join my team and go see the world outside?”

”Marshadow!” (I don’t want to. Also, you haven’t summoned Lord Ho-Oh yet, so you might not be the one chosen by Lord Ho-Oh.)

”That’s impossible. Raikou said personally that Ho-Oh is waiting for me. Could it be that you were isolated by the three of them?”

A Secondary God with no divine position, and it even comes with an exclusive Z-Crystal? If he didn’t capture this, Ash felt he would be doing a disservice to Tobias.

Hearing this, Marshadow fell silent.

It seemed it really didn’t have much communication with the Sanctuary Beasts, while the Sanctuary Beasts would occasionally meet.

”It seems I guessed right. Think back yourself; you followed me the whole way. When I met the three of them, how did they react? Think about it carefully. Do you want to come with me? I’m going to summon Ho-Oh first.”

Looking at Ash’s back as he walked toward the Rainbow Rock, Marshadow fell into deep suspicion.

When Ash decided to look for Ho-Oh, it had actually sensed the reaction of the Rainbow Feather.

When Entei was fighting Charizard, it was also on the scene, and it could see that Entei had a great fondness for Ash.

The Suicune and Raikou that appeared later were the same.

The more it thought about it, the more it suspected that the Sanctuary Beasts had known long ago that Ash was the Rainbow Hero chosen by Ho-Oh.

However, the truth of the matter was that the Sanctuary Beasts all thought Marshadow already knew Ash’s identity, which is why they didn’t explain everything to it.

After all, Marshadow was the guide meant to lead the Rainbow Hero, and Ash had acted like he knew everything from the very beginning, which inevitably led to the Sanctuary Beasts’ misunderstanding.

At this moment, Ash had already climbed onto the Rainbow Rock and placed the Rainbow Feather on top of the rock.

The Rainbow Feather resonated with the Rainbow Rock, and a seven-colored rainbow extended from the Rainbow Feather to the horizon.

Everyone looked in the direction the rainbow extended, and soon saw a red figure flying toward them.

”Under the guidance of the Rainbow Feather, meeting Ho-Oh, and becoming the Rainbow Hero...” Grandpa Bonji whispered.

”Lord Ho-Oh, hello!”

Ash waved and greeted Ho-Oh with a smile.

”Scree” (Rainbow Hero, you’ve finally come!)

There was a hint of’slight’ resentment in Ho-Oh’s tone.

Ash was a bit embarrassed and said, ”Uh... Lord Ho-Oh, actually I wanted to come find you a long time ago, but I just never had the time...”

”Scree” (Ash, Mew once spoke to me about you. It said you would be a very excellent Aura Guardian, but I don’t think so, because you have now passed the test of the Rainbow Hero I left behind.)

Hearing this, Ash couldn’t help but secretly ponder: ”Damn, so that guy Mew sold me out?”

The thought had just popped into his head when Mew, who was thousands of miles away, sensed that someone was badmouthing it.

”Ahem, Lord Ho-Oh, I heard from Raikou that you have something urgent to find me for?”
