Chapter 254: Mega Blastoise VS Mega Mewtwo X

Led by Siebold, Giovanni and Mewtwo No. 2 arrived at a battlefield that resembled an arena.

Seeing that Mewtwo No. 2 was bare and showed no signs of a mega stone, Siebold asked, ”If I may ask, does this Pokémon of yours, called Mewtwo, carry a mega stone?”

”You will know whether it carries one or not once you battle it.”

A mysterious smile tugged at the corners of Giovanni’s mouth.

”Very well.”

Seeing this, Siebold had no choice but to send out his ace, Blastoise.

[Pokémon: Blastoise] [Type: Water] [Gender: Male] [Level: Champion Beginner] [Ability: Torrent] [Potential: Champion] [Held Item: Blastoisinite] [Moves: Omitted]

His Blastoise wore a headband on its head embedded with a super evolution stone.

”Let’s start with an appetizer. Blastoise, use Hydro Pump in rapid succession.”

Following Siebold’s command, Blastoise aimed its two giant cannons at Mewtwo No. 2 and fired several water projectiles in succession; the projectiles flew at an extremely high speed.

”Mewtwo, use Psychic.”

Mewtwo No. 2 raised one hand, and a powerful Psychic force formed an invisible barrier, deflecting all the incoming water projectiles into the sky.

After flying into the sky, the water projectiles burst, creating a light rain shower.

But with the protection of Mewtwo No. 2’s powerful Psychic force, not a single drop of water touched Giovanni’s clothes.

”What kind of Pokémon is that, exactly? Its Psychic-type moves are unexpectedly strong.”

Siebold had not expected the offensive launched by his Blastoise to be completely useless.

”The probing ends here. It’s time for your main course, isn’t it?” Giovanni said.

”That is true. Please, enjoy it to the fullest: my artistic main course. Blastoise, MEGA Evolution!”

As Siebold activated his key stone, it resonated with the mega stone on Blastoise’s head, and amidst a colorful light, Blastoise completed its MEGA Evolution.

Seeing Mega Blastoise, Giovanni smiled and said, ”Mewtwo, show this Elite your power!”

Mewtwo No. 2 nodded.

It crossed its arms over its chest and stomped its right foot on the ground. A red and blue light emanated from its body, and immediately after, its stature increased by several dozen centimeters, its muscles bulged, two shoulder-guard-like objects appeared on its shoulders, and its hands and feet became extremely muscular.

Mewtwo No. 2 had completed its Mega Evolution into Mega Mewtwo X on its own.

In the few months since arriving in the Kalos region, Giovanni had taken Mewtwo No. 2 to continuously challenge Trainers capable of performing Mega Evolution. After defeating over twenty Trainers, Mewtwo No. 2 had grasped the essence of Mega Evolution and successfully achieved autonomous Mega Evolution.

However, when it first achieved this, it could not yet master the ability, so Giovanni took it to continue challenging others.

Now, in the entire Kalos region, the only strong Trainer capable of Mega Evolution besides the regional Champion, Diantha—whom Giovanni did not wish to provoke—had basically all been beaten by him, and Siebold was the last one.

”A Pokémon performing autonomous Mega Evolution? What that guy Wikstrom said was actually true...”

Seeing the change in Mewtwo No. 2, Siebold recalled that not long ago, Wikstrom, who was also one of the Elite Four, had contacted him and warned him to be careful of a Trainer whose Pokémon could perform autonomous Mega Evolution. At the time, he had thought Wikstrom was joking.

Now it seemed everything was true, except that it was his turn to be unlucky.

Giovanni very confidently yielded the first move: ”Elite Siebold, please go ahead!”

Siebold’s expression was grave as he said, ”Use Dragon Pulse!”

”Blastoise!”

Mega Blastoise arched its body forward, and the giant cannons on its back, as well as the cannons on both sides of its arms, were all aimed at Mega Mewtwo X.

Three differently colored energy attacks shot out, intertwining to form a colorful dragon-shaped energy wave.

”Mewtwo, use Psycho Cut.”

Mega Mewtwo X condensed a pale blue energy blade on its right arm and met the Dragon Pulse head-on.

Swoosh!

Mega Mewtwo X’s energy blade easily sliced through Blastoise’s Dragon Pulse.

After the Dragon Pulse was sliced in half, it generated a fierce explosion, and smoke and dust rose across the entire battlefield.

Siebold’s pupils constricted. ”How can it be this strong?”

His Mega Blastoise’s ability, Mega Launcher, could increase the power of pulse and Aura moves. He was certain that the Dragon Pulse he had just fired was something even Diantha’s Mega Gardevoir would not dare to take head-on.

Yet now, it had been easily sliced open by a Pokémon he had never seen before.

”Elite Siebold, bring out all your strength to entertain us!”

Neither Giovanni nor Mega Mewtwo X had any intention of ending the battle quickly.

Mega Mewtwo X was even floating right in front of Mega Blastoise.

Siebold, getting a bit heated, said, ”Don’t look down on people! Blastoise, use Hydro Pump!”

Mega Blastoise was also provoked by Mega Mewtwo X’s actions. Its gaze was sharp, and its three cannons aimed at Mega Mewtwo X once again.

”Blastoise!”

Three intense streams of water converged into one, charging fiercely toward Mega Mewtwo X.

Just as it had at the beginning, Mega Mewtwo X simply used Psychic to easily deflect the water stream into the sky.

Seeing that long-range attacks were ineffective, Siebold changed his strategy. ”Use Aqua Tail!”

Mega Blastoise controlled the water to protect its entire body, then stomped its feet, shooting toward Mega Mewtwo X like a cannonball fired from a chamber.

Giovanni sneered. ”Mewtwo, use Aura Sphere.”

Mega Mewtwo X’s eyes sharpened, and a blue sphere nearly two meters in diameter suddenly appeared in its right hand.

”Oh no!”

The moment he saw the Aura Sphere, Siebold realized something was wrong.

With a loud ’boom,’ Blastoise fell from the thick black smoke; it had not only reverted from its Mega Evolution state but had also lost consciousness.

Clearly, he had lost this battle.

As soon as the battle ended, a helicopter with an R logo appeared above the battlefield.

Wrapped in Mewtwo No. 2’s Psychic force, Giovanni boarded the helicopter and flew away.
