Chapter 290: Ash: The Legendary Pokemon Master Is Actually Me??

After leaving the Oldale Pokémon Center, Ash and May once again embarked on their journey to Petalburg City.

After a few hours of trekking, the two finally arrived in Petalburg City.

May asked with a happy expression, ”Ash, are you really not planning to challenge the Gym so soon?”

”The battle rules for the Orange Blossom Gym are three-on-three. I want to catch a few more Pokémon before I challenge it.”

Ash really wasn’t in a hurry to challenge the Gym. After all, he was on a mission this time. Places like Gyms that could provide huge amounts of experience were better saved for training new Pokémon later, where the returns would be higher.

”That’s great. Actually, there’s one thing I haven’t told you: I’m actually the daughter of the Orange Blossom Gym Leader!”

Confirming that Ash wasn’t a challenger, May finally revealed her identity.

”Is that so? I never would have guessed that May is Mr. Norman’s daughter?!”

Ash feigned a look of shock.

”Ash, why don’t you stay at my house tonight? My mom’s cooking is super delicious...”

As she spoke, May pulled Ash in the direction of her home.

Soon, May brought Ash to the entrance of the Orange Blossom Gym.

”Ta-da! We’re here, Ash. This is my home, the Orange Blossom Gym!”

After saying this, May stepped forward, pushed the door open, and called out, ”Dad, Mom, I’m home!”

Seeing that there was no answer after calling a few times, May didn’t care anymore. She turned to Ash and said, ”Ash, my mom and dad must have gone out. Let’s go inside first.”

”You’re so noisy! I was just watching the recording of the Silver Conference...”

Before the two could even enter, an impatient voice came from inside the house.

Hearing her younger brother’s voice, May was both happy and annoyed. ”Max, what are you saying?”

”Huh? Big sister? You... you’re back?”

A little kid wearing glasses and green clothes ran over, looking somewhat flustered.

May introduced him to Ash very affectionately, ”Ash, this is my younger brother, Max.”

”Hello...”

Before Ash could finish, Max became so excited he didn’t know what to do with himself. ”Hey! You... you... you are the Champion who just won the Silver Conference! The Legendary Pokemon Master circulating on the internet!”

”Legendary Pokemon Master?”

Hearing this title, Ash couldn’t help but think of Tobias.

”Yes, that’s right, the Legendary Pokemon Master. That oversized Gengar you sent out in the Silver Conference was just too exaggerated. Although your other opponent also had a Legendary Pokémon, it wasn’t nearly as shocking as the oversized Gengar...” Max babbled on incessantly.

May couldn’t help but interrupt, ”Alright, Max, now is not the time for this. Where are Mom and Dad?”

Faced with this question, Max spread his hands, ”I don’t know.”

”Sigh, I give up on you!” May covered her face and sighed.

”By the way, didn’t you go to Professor Birch’s lab to get your starter Pokémon? Which one did you pick?”

Max suddenly remembered the goal of May’s trip, which had taken her away from home for several days.

May excitedly threw a Poké Ball, ”Come on out, Torchic.”

”Huh? You got a Torchic?” Max’s words were full of disdain. ”I think Treecko is much better than it.”

Upon hearing Max’s words, Torchic immediately got angry. It headbutted Max over, then stood on his back and started pecking at him wildly.

”Oh? May, you’re back?”

At this moment, a middle-aged couple appeared in Ash’s field of vision, chatting and laughing.

When the Norman couple saw Ash, they said in surprise, ”Oh, we have a guest?”

”Dad, Mom, this is Ash. He’s a new friend I met at Professor Birch’s lab. He’s a very impressive Trainer, and he has a lot of traveling experience too!” After introducing him, May introduced the others to Ash, ”Ash, this is my dad, Norman, and this is my mom, Caroline.”

”Hello, Uncle, hello, Aunt!”

Ash greeted them.

”Hello. Thank you so much for taking care of our May along the way!” Caroline said to Ash with a smile.

Ash smiled, ”You’re too kind, Aunt. Actually, we just helped each other out. If it weren’t for May showing me the way, I’d probably still be wandering aimlessly in the forest.”

Indeed, based on his previously summarized experience of always getting lost in forests, he dared to say that if May hadn’t led the way, he really might have been wandering aimlessly in the forest.

Seeing Ash’s humble demeanor, the Norman couple’s opinion of him became even higher.

Watching Torchic trampling on Max, Caroline asked with a smile, ”May, is this Torchic the starter Pokémon you got from Professor Birch?”

”Mmhmm!” May nodded.

”Choosing Torchic as your first Pokémon, you’ve got a good eye!” Norman praised.

”Yes, it’s quite cute and very lively!” Caroline agreed.

Upon hearing their praise, Torchic also obediently jumped down from Max’s back.

”Dad, Mom, don’t you think Ash looks familiar?”

Max, having just escaped Torchic’s rampage, asked mysteriously.

”Familiar?” Hearing this, Norman actually recalled something, ”Now that you mention it, he really does...”

”Dad, Ash is the Legendary Pokemon Master who just won the Silver Conference not long ago!” Max revealed the answer.
