Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 200: Chapter 200: The Concubine Selection Begins, Forced to Become a Scumbag Mosquito

Hong Kong Island University, Beast Taming Academy.

As expected, the Beast Taming Academy had decided to go head-to-head with the other academies this time.

Shepherd Mountain had abandoned his usual compromising attitude, becoming much more assertive. When it came to the conflict between the specially invited students and the girls, like Su Li, he stood firmly by his own students.

Now, the Beast Taming Academy had officially forbidden any specially invited students from entering. Even access for students from other academies was strictly restricted.

Naturally, the deans and upper management of the other academies were quite displeased about this. However, Shepherd Mountain was like an enraged rooster right now, and no one wanted to stir up trouble with him with the Grand Academy Competition just around the corner.

Thus, Ryuzaki Ichiru’s situation was put on the back burner. That guy was still lying in a hospital bed, unconscious.

「Simulation Ecological Zone.」

Shepherd Mountain arrived, followed by a dozen or so young women.

Each of them was fair-skinned and beautiful, at least on par with the campus belle. Right now, their faces showed a mix of apprehension, nervousness, and… anticipation!

Shepherd Mountain looked a little nervous himself.

After reaching the Simulation Rainforest Area, he had the young women wait while he approached Chu Sheng’s exclusive territory alone.

“Lord Divine Locust, are you there?”

Chu Sheng was in his small, underground secret chamber. Hearing the voice, he immediately slipped into the cockpit of the New Roach Battle Treasure.

Soon, Chu Sheng, in the form of a giant cockroach, appeared before Shepherd Mountain.

HISS? (What do you want?)

Seeing the Divine Locust appear, Shepherd Mountain quickly said:

“Lord Divine Locust, do you remember what I mentioned last time about selecting a Master for you?”

“As per your request, I have re-screened the selection list and chosen a new batch of candidates who meet your criteria.”

“These students are the pride of our academy. If one is fortunate enough to become your Master, she will surely do everything in her power to assist you in advancing to the Emperor Realm as quickly as possible. What do you think…?”

’Assist me? A Master?’

’Oh, right, the “concubine selection.”’

Chu Sheng paused, having almost forgotten about this matter.

Looking at Shepherd Mountain’s eager expression, Chu Sheng didn’t have the heart to refuse. More importantly, he still needed a reason to stay at the Beast Taming Academy.

’No choice. I’ll just have to play along for now.’

So he nodded his cockroach head.

“HISS! (Alright, let them in.)”

Although Shepherd Mountain couldn’t understand what Chu Sheng’s hiss meant, he read his intentions from his posture and said joyfully:

“Excellent, excellent! I’ll have them come in right away!”

…

Soon, these fair-skinned, wealthy, beautiful young women—all with excellent Cultivation talent—entered in batches under Shepherd Mountain’s direction.

Leaning back in the cockpit of the New Roach Battle Treasure, Chu Sheng looked them over… ’Oho, lolis, onee-sans, sweet girls… they’ve got all the types covered.’

After putting on a show of observing them for a moment, Chu Sheng waved a cockroach leg.

“HISS! (Next batch!)”

Shepherd Mountain understood instantly and immediately arranged for four more young women to enter… Chu Sheng took another look. ’Tsk, tsk, D, C, B, A? This batch is also quite complete.’

“HISS! (Next batch!)”

“HISS! (Switch!)”

“HISS…”

After rejecting several batches in a row, the final three young women were finally brought in.

Chu Sheng looked over and was surprised to see a familiar face… Su Li.

’Hold on, why is she here too? A woman who throws up for half a day just from a short teleport wants to be my Master?’

’Still, among all these girls, she really does have the best overall qualifications.’

’Maybe…’

Chu Sheng thought for a moment, then raised his cockroach leg again… Just as Shepherd Mountain thought this last batch was also about to be rejected, Chu Sheng’s cockroach leg pointed at Su Li.

Su Li froze, her pupils constricting in shock. She pointed at herself.

“Me?”

“I was chosen?”

“I’m going to become the Master of a future Emperor Realm Demon Beast?”

Even someone as reserved as Su Li couldn’t help but get excited! Who could refuse to form a contract with a future Emperor-level Demon Beast!

However, just as Su Li opened her mouth to speak… Chu Sheng’s cockroach leg moved again. He pointed to the other two young women, who he also found pleasing to the eye.

Su Li was dumbfounded, frozen in place.

The other two who were pointed at, however, were both shocked and overjoyed!

’What does this mean?’

’Why did he pick three at once?’

’Even a Demon Beast with an Emperor-level Bloodline can only form a contract with one Master.’

Shepherd Mountain was also confused and quickly asked:

“Lord Divine Locust, what you’re doing is…”

Chu Sheng waved his leg and began to scratch at the ground. Soon, two words appeared in the dirt:

“On… hold.”

’On hold?’

’Does that mean the three of them, Su Li included, are provisionally selected and will be under observation for now?’

Shepherd Mountain was a sharp man; he once again understood Chu Sheng’s meaning in an instant.

“Lord Divine Locust, are you saying these three will be kept as candidates?”

Chu Sheng nodded.

’Well, it’s not like I can actually choose a Master, so I have no choice but to use this method to stall for time.’

’How long the observation period lasts is up to me, anyway.’

Seeing Chu Sheng nod, however, Shepherd Mountain was overjoyed.

As far as he was concerned, as long as the Divine Locust hadn’t rejected everyone, the outcome was acceptable!

’He’s a Demon Beast with an Emperor-level Bloodline, so what if he picks three? He could pick all of them for all I care!’

’As long as he’s made a choice, it means the Divine Locust is willing to stay at the Beast Taming Academy. That’s enough!’

As for Su Li and the other two chosen young women, while they were delighted, they also felt a sense of uncertainty…

“Alright. Su Li, Liu Ruyan, Xiao Xun’Er, the three of you have been selected by the Divine Locust to be candidates for his Master. Work hard.”

“The rest of you may leave. You three can go for now as well. I will speak with you again shortly.”

At Shepherd Mountain’s command, the young women left with various expressions on their faces—some disappointed, some resentful… Watching this scene, Chu Sheng felt a bit like a scumbag…

’No, a scumbag-roach!’

’Wait, that’s not right either… a scumbag-mosquito!’

’Ah, whatever. A scumbag’s a scumbag. I may not be able to form a contract with these three, but I can help improve the Bloodlines of their Contracted Beasts. That can be my compensation for using them.’

After the young women left, Shepherd Mountain remained standing in place, clearly having something more to say.

“Divine Locust, besides the… concubine selection… er, I mean, the Master selection, I have another request.”

Chu Sheng glanced at him.

“HISS. (Speak.)”

Shepherd Mountain immediately said:

“Then I’ll get straight to the point.”

“The Hong Kong Island University’s Grand Academy Competition is about to begin. I’d like to ask you to serve as the captain of our Beast Taming Academy’s team and lead our Beast Taming Team in the competition.”

“To be perfectly honest, this year’s Grand Academy Competition is extremely important to our Beast Taming Academy. Otherwise, I wouldn’t dare trouble you, Lord Divine Locust.”

’The Grand Academy Competition?’ Chu Sheng had been hearing that term quite a lot recently.

“HISSS! (Tell me more!)”

Shepherd Mountain continued:

“The Grand Academy Competition is Hong Kong University’s most important event each year. It not only concerns the honor of each academy but also determines the resource allocation percentage for each academy for the entire following academic year.”

“The Beast Taming Academy has placed last for five consecutive years. If we’re last again this year, not only will our resource allocation for next year be extremely scarce, but we will even be stripped of some of our existing resources.”

Seeing that the Divine Locust didn’t seem unwilling to listen, Shepherd Mountain continued:

“This year’s Grand Academy Competition will still be held in a dedicated Secret Realm within our Hong Kong Island University. However, the format of the competition has changed.”

“This time, the competition will be the most brutal yet…”

“A Battle Royale!”
