Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 165: Chapter 165: Contracted Beast Record Challenge? Chu Sheng Prepares to Sweep the Board

That night, Chu Sheng made his way through more than twenty girls’ dorm rooms, absorbing the semi-corporeal Mental Power of over sixty female students.

He gained a total of 780 points of Mental Power.

[Current Mental Power: 2280]

His Mental Power Realm broke through to the Third-Grade Early Stage on the spot!!!

Looking at the Mental Power value on his attribute panel, Chu Sheng almost laughed out loud…

’The next full evolution requires 2000 Mental Power? Heh, one night was all it took!’

’Of course, even though I have enough now, I’m not going to stop… I’ll keep absorbing tonight!’

And tomorrow night, Chu Sheng planned to go to the upperclassmen’s dorms to absorb their Mental Power.

For one, the students in the upperclassmen’s dorms had higher Mental Power Realms, which meant their corporeal Mental Power would surely be more abundant.

Secondly, and this was a very important reason:

That higher-realm Mental Power had a greater probability of containing the various Realms the students had comprehended!

By absorbing corporeal Mental Power that contained a Realm, his own progress in comprehending Realms would likely skyrocket as well!

If this was viable, then the problem of his slow progress with Realms could be solved.

Absorbing Mental Power while also improving his Realm progress—it was killing two birds with one stone.

…

Unfortunately, day had broken, and everything would have to wait until night.

During the day, the students were awake. If he tried to go absorb their Mental Power, it’d be a miracle if he wasn’t discovered.

Chu Sheng reluctantly left the dorm building.

And that day, a strange incident occurred in the dorm building. Many of the girls woke up feeling dizzy and lethargic, which made everyone suspect there was something unclean haunting the building… But fortunately, since they majored in Mental Power, they recovered after a day.

After leaving the girls’ dorms, Chu Sheng returned to the Simulation Rainforest Area to enjoy his “breakfast”—having finished absorbing Mental Power, it was now time to absorb Qi Blood.

Seeing Chu Sheng appear, the Contracted Beasts in the Simulation Rainforest Area all excitedly gathered around, proactively offering their bodies… for him to absorb from.

These Demon Beasts normally wouldn’t submit to anyone, but they all submitted to Chu Sheng, the giant cockroach!

In their eyes, strength didn’t matter. The one who could help them evolve their Bloodlines was the most badass existence of all.

And when Chu Sheng absorbed the Qi Blood of these Demon Beasts, he naturally didn’t forget to use his Soul-devouring Nether Flame to help evolve their Bloodlines.

Of course, Chu Sheng only helped them evolve a tiny bit each time… This was how you had to handle these Demon Beasts—taming them little by little!

[Ding! Host has absorbed 27 points of Qi Blood. Current Total Qi Blood is 9043.]

…

Over the course of the morning, Chu Sheng furiously absorbed another nine hundred-plus points of Qi Blood, only stopping when his Qi Blood Value reached 9950.

After being digested, the nine hundred-plus Qi Blood brought him 180 Evolution Points.

[Current Qi Blood Value: 9950]

[Current Mental Power: 2280]

[Current Evolution Points: 1322]

[Reminder: The next full evolution requires reaching a Qi Blood Value of 10,000 (Fourth-Grade Early Stage) and 2000 Mental Power, and will consume 2000 Evolution Points!]

With just two or three more absorptions, his Qi Blood Value would reach 10,000, allowing him to break through directly to the Fourth-Grade Early Stage.

But Chu Sheng didn’t plan to do that.

Right now, the only necessary condition he was lacking for the next full evolution was Evolution Points.

Therefore, he decided to go absorb Evolution Points first. Once all three conditions were met, he would initiate the next full evolution at the same time he advanced to the Fourth-Grade Early Stage!

’A huge power-up all at once!’

…

After resting for a while in the Simulation Rainforest Area, Chu Sheng set out again.

This time, he was piloting the Big New Roach Battle Treasure, and he wasn’t being sneaky. Instead, he swaggered openly around the Beast Taming Academy.

“What the hell? What is that thing?”

“Holy shit, where did such a huge cockroach come from? This is terrifying, isn’t it?”

“Damn, that almost scared the soul out of me. This cockroach… it couldn’t be one of our school’s Contracted Beasts, could it?”

“This is insane. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen a Cockroach Demon Beast. Who the hell would be crazy enough to form a contract with such a giant cockroach?”

“They must have done this just to gross people out!”

“…”

Along the way, wherever Chu Sheng passed, an endless stream of “praise” followed.

The male students were fine, for the most part, but many female students shrieked in terror at the sight of such a giant cockroach. It’s no exaggeration to say some were so scared they even leaked a few drops.

It couldn’t be helped. Some people have an innate fear of things like cockroaches and snakes.

Chu Sheng was very satisfied with this… ’This is the true purpose for which the New Roach Battle Treasure was created!’

However, people merely found the giant cockroach bizarre; no one had any ill intentions.

In the Beast Taming Academy at Hong Kong Island University, Contracted Beasts were very free and could move about the campus as they pleased.

No student or teacher was allowed to attack these Contracted Beasts without reason—even if it was a half-meter-long giant cockroach.

As Chu Sheng wandered around the Beast Taming Academy’s massive campus, he soon discovered a huge, gymnasium-like venue.

He saw many Beast Tamers leading their Contracted Beasts inside, so he followed them.

As soon as he entered the venue, Chu Sheng saw a huge banner: [Hong Kong Island Beast Taming Academy, Contracted Beast Record-Breaking Challenge]

So, this was the place he had heard about in the girls’ dorm yesterday, the venue for the “Contracted Beast Record-Breaking Challenge.”

After hearing the news last night, Chu Sheng had become very interested in this so-called challenge, mainly because there were rewards to be won.

One of the reasons he was wandering around today was to get a better understanding of the specifics.

’What exactly is this “Record-Breaking Challenge,” and how does it work?’

Chu Sheng flapped his wings, flying high into the air. Looking down, he saw that the massive venue was divided into several different areas.

In each area, quite a few Beast Tamers were lined up with their Contracted Beasts, waiting to take on a challenge. The events in each area were different, and each was staffed with supervising teachers and various pieces of precision equipment.

Chu Sheng observed for a moment and quickly understood the rules of the “Record-Breaking Challenge”:

The challenge would last for five days.

There were seven challenge categories: Spiritual Wisdom, Attack Power (Destructive Power), Speed, Defense, Mental Power, Bloodline, and Support Ability.

Contracted Beasts could challenge any one or more of the categories, and the top ten on the record board for each category would receive corresponding rewards.

And finally, the best Contracted Beast—determined by an overall assessment across all categories—would receive an astonishing reward, which included the “King-level Five Stars Demon Beast Essence Blood” that Chu Sheng wanted!

Oh, and there was one additional requirement: only Contracted Beasts below the Fifth-Grade Realm were allowed to participate.

The reason was simple: the majority of the academy’s Contracted Beasts were below Fifth-Grade. If Contracted Beasts of Fifth-Grade or higher were to participate, the Low Tier ones would have basically no chance.

In that case, the challenge would lose its purpose.

After understanding the rules, Chu Sheng thought for a moment and quietly left the venue.

’I’m definitely going to participate in this challenge, but not now. I’ll wait until after I advance to Fourth-Grade and complete my next full evolution.’

’It lasts for five days anyway, so there’s no rush.’

He had a second purpose for coming out this time: to find a Spirit Plant Medicine Garden.

And by now, from the conversations he had overheard along the way, he already knew the location of a Spirit Plant Medicine Garden.

It wasn’t the location of Hong Kong Island University’s garden.

It was the largest one on all of Hong Kong Island—the Mu’s Spirit Plant Manor!
