Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 153: Chapter 150: Modifying a Minion! Finally Got to Pilot a Mecha

Meanwhile, on the other side of the Hong Kong Island University campus.

An almost imperceptible black shadow traced an arc through the sky, finally landing in a secluded grove.

Chu Sheng gently flapped his wings and landed on a leaf, feeling incredibly refreshed.

Free!

’Finally, I’ve temporarily escaped that woman!’

He knew Gu Yuexi’s concerns weren’t without reason, and that acting cautiously was indeed the best choice for now.

But…

’For a magnificent protagonist like me to spend the entire Hong Kong Island trip pathetically hiding in her hair like an ornament?’

’Absolutely not!’

’I’d die of frustration!’

’Besides, as long as you don’t let your thinking slip, there are always more solutions than problems!’

’Not exposing her identity as a Beast Tamer, and not exposing my own mosquito form—is that so hard?’

’It’s a piece of cake, okay?’

Chu Sheng already had a complete plan in mind.

He first wandered around the grove and soon found the corpses of a few wild “hachimitsu” that had been dead for a while. He immediately activated the system’s reclaim function.

[Ding! Reclaim successful. Acquired 28 points of Life Essence.]

This bit of Life Essence could at most upgrade a few underlings. For the entire insect swarm, it was just a drop in the bucket.

However…

’If it’s just to modify a single underling, then it’s more than enough!’

A flicker of anticipation appeared in Chu Sheng’s eyes.

With a thought, his consciousness instantly sank into the Nether Flame Insect Nest.

’System! Open the [Insect Swarm Evolution] modification interface!’

The next second, a complex interface resembling 3D modeling software unfolded in his mind.

This was the truly heaven-defying use of the [Insect Swarm Evolution] function!

It was like a creative workshop!

Here, Chu Sheng could consume Life Essence to carry out fantastical modifications on any individual in the swarm according to his own ideas—even targeted evolution!

From something as small as changing its carapace color to as large as adding a pair of wings, as long as he had enough Life Essence, he could theoretically take a tiny Spirit-Devouring Worm and forcibly modify it into a True Dragon with an Emperor-level Bloodline!

Of course, the amount of Life Essence required for that would probably be astronomical.

Chu Sheng glanced at the more than sixteen thousand Spirit-Devouring Worms in the Insect Nest Space and casually selected a lucky one that looked particularly comely.

’You’re the one!’

He began his grand project of “worm sculpting.”

’First, the size!’

The originally tiny, beetle-like body rapidly inflated under his mental control, as if it were a balloon!

Ten centimeters… twenty centimeters… half a meter!

[Ding! Consumed 12 points of Life Essence!]

’Not bad, not bad!’

’Next, the appearance!’

’What kind of appearance should I sculpt…?’

Chu Sheng pondered for a moment, and then his eyes lit up as if he had thought of something interesting.

’I choose you!’

The Spirit-Devouring Worm’s originally round carapace began to grow sharp and angular, filled with a metallic texture and a sense of power! Its body also quickly became slender.

From its head sprouted two long, thin antennae-like tails, which fluttered in the wind, looking just like the ponytails of an anime girl!

’That’s right!’

’This is a half-meter-long… no, including the ponytails, a full meter-long… giant cockroach!’

[Ding! Modification successful! Consumed 10 points of Life Essence!]

’Tsk, tsk! This look… in terms of being eye-catching, it’s no less impressive than the giant mushroom!’

Chu Sheng nodded in satisfaction. He loved this kind of appearance that came with its own built-in Spiritual Attack.

’Finally, the most crucial step!’

He activated his will once more!

[Ding! Consumed 5 points of Life Essence! Modification successful!]

The giant cockroach’s chest carapace slowly split open with a series of “KAKA” sounds, sliding to the sides to reveal a hollow cavity about thirty centimeters in diameter!

’The cockpit is complete!’

’Awesome! The Cockroach Mecha has been successfully built, folks!’

Chu Sheng was so excited he couldn’t hold back any longer. He flew directly into the “cockpit” in the giant cockroach’s chest.

The chest carapace slowly closed, perfectly protecting him inside.

Through the Spiritual Link with his cockroach underling, everything in the outside world was clearly presented in his mind, no different from seeing it with his own eyes!

He could even control the giant cockroach’s limbs and antennae at will. It was even more thrilling than piloting a Mecha!

’Awesome! The national treasure has combined with the Mecha!’

’A Mecha this badass has to have a name!’

’New Mecha… cockroach-shaped… ponytails…’

’Alright! From this day forward, your name will be… Ponytail New Roach Battle Treasure!’

Chu Sheng was ecstatic; he was truly having a blast!

Who wouldn’t have a blast? This is ridiculously fun, okay?!

’Alright!’

’Now that I have a new vest, where should I go stir up some trouble?’

Chu Sheng controlled the New Roach Battle Treasure and looked up in the direction of the Array Academy.

Within his [Nether Vision] Perception, the Mental Power light over there was as brilliant as a starry sky, but the fluctuations of Qi Blood were few and far between.

But in the other direction…

Chu Sheng suddenly turned his head to look toward the east side of Hong Kong Island University.

There, he not only sensed massive fluctuations of Mental Power, but also perceived majestic torrents of Qi Blood, as vigorous as a raging furnace!

’There’s… definitely something good over there!’

’Let’s go! Time to see what’s what!’

’New Roach Battle Treasure! Activate!!’

…

The Hong Kong University Beast Taming Academy was located on the far eastern side of the campus, covering an area larger than three Array Academies combined.

There were almost no modern buildings here.

In their place was a vast site that simulated various ecological environments—boundless tropical rainforests, snow-capped alpine regions, molten volcanoes with churning lava… it had everything.

The teaching philosophy of the Hong Kong University Beast Taming Academy was completely different from that of the mainland.

They believed that keeping Contracted Beasts locked up in small Beast Taming Pouches all day would wear away their wildness and spirit.

Only by allowing them to grow freely, compete with each other, and live by the law of the jungle in an environment as close to nature as possible could their potential be maximized.

Therefore, the Contracted Beasts here were basically in a “free-range” state.

At this moment, within the Beast Taming Academy’s simulated tropical rainforest.

A female student wearing a Hong Kong University uniform with her hair in a ponytail was walking alone on a secluded forest path, seemingly searching for something.

She didn’t notice a tiny, inconspicuous White-striped Aedes Mosquito clinging to the hem of her pleated skirt.

It was Chu Sheng.

In his mosquito form, he had easily infiltrated this heavily guarded “zoo.”

After venturing deeper into the rainforest.

Chu Sheng controlled his body, silently detached from the girl’s skirt, flew to an unnoticed corner, and then focused his will.

BUZZ—!

The space fluctuated almost imperceptibly.

The magnificent “Ponytail New Roach Battle Treasure” appeared out of thin air in the grass.

Chu Sheng skillfully slipped into the cockpit, his heart surging with excitement.

’Alright, from now on, I am an unremarkable, yet slightly handsome, mutant cockroach Contracted Beast in the Hong Kong University Beast Taming Academy!’

’Next up… it’s buffet time!’

Chu Sheng immediately activated [Nether Vision]!

In an instant!

Within his Perception, the entire world transformed into a splendid ocean composed of countless points of light!

Pillars of Qi Blood light, varying in color and intensity, shot toward the sky, nearly filling his entire field of vision!

Those High-Level Bloodline Demon Beasts, which would cause a sensation in a small mainland city, were as common as dirt here, scattered all over the mountains and plains!

And further away, at the summit of a simulated volcano, a giant eagle with a wingspan of over ten meters and covered in crimson scales was preening its feathers. The Bloodline aura it emitted had shockingly reached… the King-level!

’Holy shit!’

’Holy shiiiit!’

Chu Sheng gazed at the mountains and plains filled with “walking blood bags,” feeling the pure and majestic Life Energy within their bodies. His entire mosquito body was trembling with excitement!

’Who the fuck said Hong Kong Island has no Qi Blood Cultivation Resources?!’

’This place is packed to the brim!’

’This is practically heaven!’

’I could suck ten a day and not have the same one for half a month!’
