Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 164: Chapter 164: Mental Power Surges: Who’s Faster, the Empress or Me?

After some thought, Chu Sheng’s plan became clear.

Right now, he had three things to do.

One:

Recruit underlings!

While absorbing Qi Blood in the Beast Taming Academy, he would train the Demon Beasts here step by step, striving to turn them all into his underlings!

He had already turned most of the Third-Grade and early Fourth-Grade Contracted Beasts in the simulated rainforest area into his underlings. His next targets were the other areas, as well as higher-grade Demon Beasts.

Of course, his ultimate goal was the giant eagle at the simulated Snow Mountain Peak!

Chu Sheng was dying to pilot his New Roach Battle Treasure, ride on that giant eagle’s head, and soar through the sky.

’The image of a giant cockroach riding a giant eagle in flight… just thinking about it is so awesome!’

Two:

Absorb Mental Power!

’So many students at Hong Kong Island University have cultivated semi-corporeal or even corporeal Mental Power. They’re basically tailor-made Mental Power refill packs just for me. I absolutely can’t let this opportunity slip by.’

What he needed to do specifically was… secretly absorb Mental Power from these students.

’I won’t take too much. After all, taking too much could cause their Cultivation to regress. Just a little from each person will be fine. With so many students, one sip from each will be more than enough!’

Three:

Absorb Evolution Points!

Find a Spirit Herb Garden at Hong Kong Island University or elsewhere, absorb the Life Energy from the Spirit Medicine, and obtain Evolution Points that way.

’As for how much to absorb, the more the better, of course. After all, it’s not just a full evolution that requires Evolution Points; Skill upgrades and so on need them too.’

…

No sooner said than done!

Inside the Beast Taming Academy, Chu Sheng temporarily dismissed his underlings, then kept his New Roach Battle Treasure disguised in a dormant state.

Then, a small cockroach, twenty times smaller than the New Roach Battle Treasure, crawled out of the cockpit.

That’s right, this was Chu Sheng’s newly created mini-version: the “Little New Roach Battle Treasure.”

The purpose of creating the Little New Roach Battle Treasure was simple: to minimize the risk of exposing his identity and avoid unnecessary trouble.

The original New Roach Battle Treasure, on the other hand, was a bit too large and wasn’t suited for “sneaky” business.

For example, sneaking into student dorms and secretly absorbing their Mental Power while they were sound asleep.

Compared to the Big New Roach Battle Treasure, the Little New Roach Battle Treasure was like Chu Sheng’s personal Battle Armor, serving as a disguise without attracting attention.

「Beast Taming Academy」

A small cockroach glided silently through the night.

Soon, Chu Sheng arrived at the Beast Taming Academy’s dormitory area.

It was already close to midnight. Many students were asleep, and most of the dorms were dark.

To avoid making any noise, Chu Sheng stopped flapping his wings and just crawled. He scaled the wall to the second floor and slipped into a dorm room through the balcony.

The lights in the dorm were off, but a small night light was still on.

Chu Sheng glanced around the room… ’It’s a girls’ dorm.’

’A girls’ dorm is perfect!’

’Why perfect?’

’Because most beds in girls’ dorms have curtains. That way, no one will see me when I’m secretly absorbing Mental Power.’

Chu Sheng figuratively rubbed his hands together, quickly picked a bed, and crawled up the frame.

On the bed, a rather serene-looking girl was asleep, her eyes closed and her breathing even.

Chu Sheng’s eyes immediately locked onto one spot!

The spot on her forehead between her eyebrows… ’Is there any coalesced, semi-corporeal Mental Power?’

’Yes!’

Chu Sheng’s eyes lit up. ’Excellent, the very first person I picked has it.’ A faint halo was circulating between her eyebrows. This kind of halo was likely invisible to the naked eye, but it was crystal clear when perceived with Mental Power.

This was the tell-tale sign of extremely condensed Mental Power becoming semi-corporeal!

’What am I waiting for? Time to start absorbing!’

Chu Sheng crawled over stealthily. After climbing over a small mountain peak, he quickly continued up along her neck and onto her face… and then her forehead.

Next, an opening appeared on the head of the Little New Roach Battle Treasure, and a thin proboscis extended from within.

’Don’t worry, I’ll be very gentle.’

Under Chu Sheng’s control, the Flame-devouring Demon Spike pierced ever so carefully into the halo between the girl’s eyebrows. The next second, the system’s voice rang out:

[Ding! High-Purity Spiritual Energy detected. Commencing absorption.]

[Mental Power +3.2]

[Mental Power +4.1]

[Mental Power +2.9]

[Mental Power +3.5]

…

As Chu Sheng absorbed the energy, the girl’s brow furrowed, as if she were having a nightmare.

Meanwhile, Chu Sheng was ecstatic!

’It worked!’

He had absorbed a total of 22.1 Spiritual Points, more than double what he’d gotten from that Qin Feng guy in the Black Stone Secret Realm.

’This girl’s Spiritual Realm doesn’t even seem that high… Doesn’t that mean I could absorb even more from people at higher realms?’

’But… that last 0.1, did I suck her completely dry?’

Of course, he hadn’t truly sucked her dry. He had only drained the small amount of Mental Power that had become semi-corporeal.

Chu Sheng couldn’t have absorbed the rest of her Mental Power even if he had tried.

Chu Sheng withdrew his proboscis and glanced at the girl, noticing her face had turned a little pale.

Although this semi-corporeal Mental Power was only a tiny fraction of her total, it was inevitable she would feel some discomfort after having it absorbed.

Chu Sheng thought for a moment. ’I can’t keep doing it like this!’

’That was my first time, so I couldn’t hold back.’

’Draining all of her semi-corporeal Mental Power makes it easy for something to be discovered. One person is fine, but if this happens to everyone, my actions will be found out sooner or later.’

’So, from now on, I’ll just take half or a third from each person. Sustainability is the name of the game!’

…

Next, Chu Sheng stealthily crawled down from the girl’s bed and then climbed onto another girl’s bed.

In the end, that one dorm room contributed a total of 55 points of Mental Power!

[Current Mental Power: 1555]

’Awesome! So damn awesome!’

’At this rate, won’t getting my Mental Power to 2000 be a piece of cake?’

’I wonder how this compares to Gu Yuexi’s painstaking Cultivation speed. It would be hilarious if, after all her hard work, she finds she still can’t keep up with me.’

At that moment, Gu Yuexi, who was in seclusion far away in some clan’s holy land, suddenly felt an inexplicable chill.

Meanwhile, Chu Sheng had already crawled out of the dorm room and, slipping through the crack under the door, entered the next one.

However, just as he crawled inside, he heard several voices coming from within the dorm.

’Huh? The girls in this dorm are still awake? Guess I’ll find another one.’

Chu Sheng was about to leave, but the content of the girls’ conversation made him stop in his tracks.

“Have you guys heard? The academy is holding a Contracted Beast Record Challenge. As long as you place in the top ten for any record, you can get some amazing rewards.”

“Rewards? Like what?”

“I heard there’s High-Level Spirit Grass, all sorts of Spiritual Treasures, and even the Essence Blood of a King-level Five Stars Demon Beast.”

“Basically, the academy is sparing no expense this time. They’re trying to encourage students to cultivate so we don’t get looked down on by the other academies in the next grand tournament…”

’The hell?’

Lying in the corner of the dorm, Chu Sheng was stunned.

’The Essence Blood of a King-level Five Stars Demon Beast?!’

’Excellent. I’m taking that!’
