Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Jiang Xinyu’s tears fell even more fiercely. But her rationality remained, knowing that in this environment, nothing could be said.

”Xinyu, Xinyu, please don’t cry.” Wei Kaiyun also started to tear up.

”Can I come to see you?”

”Xinyu, where are you?”

”I’m attending university in X City.” In her heart, she sincerely thanked the heavens for being so kind to her. After all the twists and turns, they still arranged for the two of them to be together.

”Tell me your exact address, and I’ll come find you. It’s too difficult for you to come here.” Actually, Wei Kaiyun wasn’t even sure if he could leave, probably not, but he didn’t want his little girl to endure a day’s journey, so he thought of ways himself.

Jiang Xinyu gave him her home address, and the two reluctantly put down the phone.

Zhang Shuping looked at the absent-minded Jiang Xinyu and speculated about their relationship.

”Sister, why don’t you come home with me? I know you must have many questions.”

”Xinyu?”

”Sister, I’m fine.”

She took out some money and paid for the phone call.

Zhang Shuping, following Jiang Xinyu’s side, was really quite worried about her. In her eyes, she was just a little girl; after all, she was only nineteen years old, even though she already had a child, still, she was young.

When they got home, Jiang Xinyu asked Bai Hongying to buy some meat and vegetables.

”Sister, have some water.”

The two of them sat on the kang, Jiang Xinyu looking at her sleeping son. This child was half like her, and the other half like Wei Kaiyun, with similar eyebrows, eyes, and nose.

”Sister, that Wei Kaiyun used to be the director of our textile factory, then he was transferred to the province.

You must be curious about why I’m like this?”

”Xinyu, it’s okay, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.” The young girl was full of sadness, and she couldn’t bear it.

Jiang Xinyu shook her head, ”It’s okay, let’s just say, Jiang Shijing’s father is Wei Kaiyun.”

Zhang Shuping had already thought about it, and now it was confirmed.

She wouldn’t ask anything, seeing the girl’s expression, she knew there must be a story behind it, but didn’t have the heart to open her wounds.

”Xinyu, do you want to see him?”

”Yes.”

”But he’s been sent here for making some mistakes.”

Jiang Xinyu’s tears flowed more fiercely. ”Sister, I trust him.”

”Okay, I’ll figure something out for you. You wait for me.” Zhang Shuping got off the kang to put on her shoes and left.

She went to the post office again and dialed her husband’s number.

”Lizheng, can you find a way to let Wei Kaiyun come over and have a look?”

”Shuping, you?”

”Try to figure it out, you haven’t visited me for a long time, let’s go and check on the kids, it’s only three weeks until the exams, and then we have a holiday.

Your vacation lasts almost two months, right?”

Zhao Lizheng, looking at Wei Kaiyun who stood aside, gritted his teeth, ”Alright, we’ll set off on January 25th. We’ll definitely arrive by the 28th, wait for me.”

Zhang Shuping hung up the phone satisfied and hurried back to Jiang Xinyu’s house.

”Xinyu, my husband, Old Zhao, agreed, they will arrive on the 28th.”

Jiang Xinyu threw herself into her arms, crying and saying, ”Sister, thank you, thank you.”

Zhang Shuping patted Jiang Xinyu’s back, comforting her.

Zhao Lizheng, after putting down the phone, stared at Wei Kaiyun, ”I agreed, I’ll give you one month, when I send my wife to school, you come back with me.”

”Thank you, I won’t make things difficult for you, I know what to do.” Wei Kaiyun was genuinely excited, it was hard to suppress the smile on his face.

Never thought he could still meet his little girl here, heaven has indeed been kind to him.

”Whatever you do, I’m taking a big risk. So I hope you can keep a low profile.”

”Hmm, I understand.” Wei Kaiyun, although not knowing the situation above, sensed that there must be some changes.

Initially, were they planning to send him to X City? Who knows what happened, and he ended up being placed here.

Moreover, there hadn’t been any news for a year, they probably wouldn’t pay attention here anymore.

”Alright, we’ll set off on the 25th.” Just leaving this mountainous region would take a day.

Wei Kaiyun, with a light step, left here, thinking about preparing some tasty food for his wife, like pine nuts she must like.

Wei Kaiyun had never been this happy, how to describe this feeling? A turning point?

Jiang Xinyu calmed down, ”Sister, thank you so much, whatever happens in the future, as long as I can do it, I will definitely not decline.”

”Xinyu, no need to say that.”

”Sister, this is risky for you as well, I know.

I mean it, you are a tremendous benefactor to me.” Indeed, knowing news about Wei Kaiyun and being able to see him again.

For lunch, there was lamb and radish, rice, and of course, buns.

After the meal, Zhang Shuping left. Jiang Xinyu didn’t have the mood to study today, just lying by her child’s side, looking at him, wondering what kind of expression Wei Kaiyun would have when he saw the child.

”Shijing, you’re about to see your dad, how about that? Excited?”

Looking at her beautiful son, Jiang Xinyu felt proud, Wei Kaiyun would surely like him.

No matter what, time continued to pass little by little.

Jiang Xinyu anticipated the 28th every day. She instructed Bai Hongying to go to the supply and marketing cooperatives, buy meat, and on weekends she went herself, bringing back forty pounds of pork, cured meat, and marinated pork offals. Just slowly preparing, so that Wei Kaiyun could eat more, and to bring some meat back for Zhang Shuping.

This was her way of expressing gratitude towards them.

In these more than twenty days, Jiang Xinyu also brought back a bag of rice, also for Zhang Shuping.

Time reached the 25th in the expectations of Jiang Xinyu and Wei Kaiyun.

Today was also their exam day, which spanned two days.

”How are you two?” Zhang Baozhen asked weakly of Jiang Xinyu and Zhang Shuping.

”I’m alright, probably won’t fail.”

”My accounting isn’t that good.” Zhang Shuping felt unsure inside as well.

”Sigh, you two are better off than me. I think I won’t pass at least two subjects.

I studied hard too, could it really be because I’m dumb?”

The two didn’t know how to comfort her, after all, at this time, words seemed powerless.

Jiang Xinyu thought for a moment and shared her study methods with the two. In fact, sometimes it’s not just about rote memorization, she had after all experienced countless major and minor exams in her previous life.

They might not have answered well, not necessarily because they weren’t capable, although certainly, the knowledge might not have been solidly learned. More than half might have been due to nerves, fear of exams, and if you don’t do well, naturally you’ll feel discouraged.
