Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 175: 175 Unexpected

”Director Jiang, I don’t have that skill, it’s all up to you.”

”Director Jiang, didn’t you help the leaders of the Mechanical Department? Getting a sleeper ticket is just a matter of saying a word, isn’t it?”

”Alright, Mr. Qian, I’ll go buy the tickets and bring them back.”

”Hmm. No need for Director Jiang to make another trip, I’ll pick you up tomorrow.”

”We still don’t know the ticket time?”

”I’ll go with you to buy the tickets.”

”I have a bicycle, never mind, I’ll bring it back myself.”

Jiang Xinyu was quite happy inside, getting another chance to see Wei Kaiyun.

She didn’t go directly to buy the tickets but went to that leader’s office.

”Director Jiang?”

”Station Chief Zhang, I’m here to ask a favor.”

”Director Jiang, take a seat, tell me what’s up.”

”I need to go on a business trip to the Provincial City, and I was hoping the Station Chief could help me get two sleeper tickets.”

”Haha, no problem, let’s go, I’ll accompany you to the ticket office.”

”Thank you so much, Station Chief Zhang.”

Jiang Xinyu happily returned to the factory with three sleeper tickets.

She went straight to Yao Shimin’s office. ”Secretary Pan, here are your and Vice Factory Director’s train tickets, it’s for the train at eleven tomorrow morning.”

”Director Jiang, you’re amazing, Secretary Song told me about her train experiences, and it made me a bit scared. I haven’t experienced what she talked about since I came to work.”

”Hehe, I don’t want any suffering either. Alright, I’m heading back to my office.” This job is something, haven’t even settled in on the first day of work and I’m off on a business trip again.

Just entered the office, hadn’t even sipped water, and Qian Jun came over. He pulled over a chair to sit down.

”Jiang Xinyu, don’t exhaust yourself.”

Jiang Xinyu furrowed her brow. This is about the factory’s interests, what’s this supposed to mean?

”My point is, just do your best, no one can control the outcome.”

”Understood, Mr. Qian, I got it, just seems unfair.”

Qian Jun switched his posture, placing his elbow on the table.

”There’s a lot of unfairness, just keep balanced yourself. Also, there’s an intention from above for you to work for the leaders.”

”Mr. Qian, could you refuse for me? I don’t have that thought, my age speaks for itself, I’m just a bold fool with some wit, not fit for major responsibilities.”

”Fine, I’ll turn it down for you. You won’t regret it?”

Jiang Xinyu laughed, her eyes twinkling, ”Mr. Qian, I definitely won’t regret it, honestly, I’m just looking to live a life of ease, without ambition.”

”Hehe, but if you aspire to be Deputy Factory Director, I can talk to the higher-ups.”

Jiang Xinyu shook her head ”I was joking. I’m very satisfied with my current life; I need comfort, not ambition.”

Qian Jun observed Jiang Xinyu for a while before standing up to leave.

What did his look when leaving mean?

Half an hour to go before getting off work, she tidied up her things and headed to the union office.

”Director Jiang, you’re back?”

”Yep, Sister Meng, how’s the work been going recently?”

”Alright, every day is the same, those who work steadfastly are more at ease, but there are always a few who pick faults, you get used to it.

Director Jiang, there are many rumors about Director Huang and Kong Mengjie again.”

”Sister Meng, I have to go on a business trip again tomorrow.”

”Haha, good for Director Jiang, I meant nothing else, just saying that their advanced evaluation this year was canceled from above.”

”Hmm, that’s really not a good thing.”

”There’s too much gossip below, all negative; we’re in a tough spot.”

”Let’s handle it by the book.”

”The higher-ups have signed already, and by the way, you’re nominated for advanced achievement this time.”

”Me too?”

”Yes, you’ve contributed to the factory, so what’s wrong with your nomination?”

”Hehe, I didn’t expect I could be selected as advanced?”

The closing bell rang, Jiang Xinyu bid farewell and left.

She went home, packed for the trip, bringing some sausage, still had some in the space, might as well take it given this weather, plus some bread and buns.

Prepared two sets of changeable clothes, packed toiletries in the bag.

For dinner, had porridge with red pickles, felt that after eating meat for so long, pickles were quite nice too.

The next day, she didn’t go to work, just waited at home for Qian Jun to come over.

At ten, there was a knock on the door, she grabbed her bag and went out.

”Director Jiang, this is what travel gear looks like.” Yao Shimin sighed.

Qian Jun glanced at Jiang Xinyu’s outfit, didn’t say anything. Though Jiang Xinyu looked really healthy and full of energy.

The three got in the car, Jiang Xinyu chose the upper berth, felt a bit private that way.

Throughout the trip, the three didn’t discuss work, mostly gossip, which made it much more relaxed.

Chatting away, the two girls couldn’t avoid the topic of clothing, Jiang Xinyu really learned something, realizing her life wasn’t truly refined.

”Director Jiang, you’ve been to the Provincial City three times, are you familiar with it?”

”Not really, the longest was when I was with Director Wei, every day joined the sisters from the union in publicity activities, went out during weekends, but I felt it’s just that. So I ended up staying home to rest later.”

”If we have time, shall we go out for a stroll?”

”Sure, no objections from me, I’ll follow you wherever you go.”

”Director Jiang, are you familiar with Director Wei?”

Familiar as can be, ”Pretty much, why?”

”Everyone says Director Wei never smiles, is that true?”

”Well, I don’t pay much attention, I was his secretary for just a few months. Mr. Qian probably knows best, they came to the textile factory together.”

”I wouldn’t dare ask. Mr. Qian is always stern-faced, makes me daunted.”

”Hehe, when I met Mr. Qian, he was just like me, very meticulous.

By the way, are you familiar with the secretaries from the county factories?”

”Pretty much, Director Jiang, isn’t Secretary Lv too good-looking?”

”Haha, you think so too? I see it that way too, but after getting to know him, found out he’s just a normal person.”

”What do you mean?”

”I initially saw him as an exiled immortal, thought he fell from the divine altar, but later realized he eats like everyone else and has life’s worries.”

”Haha, Director Jiang’s description is quite on point.”

”Right? We once went on a business trip for over two months, his foolish side is a huge contrast to his usual self.”

”Secretary She likes him, but he’s always indifferent, I feel bad for Secretary She.”

”That’s their business; I have no say. But if it were me choosing, I definitely wouldn’t choose someone like Secretary Lv, he’s a person to view from afar, not to get close to.”

”Hahaha. Director Jiang, you’re too funny.”

”If the ancestors knew you used their words like this, they’d definitely jump out and strangle you,” Yao Shimin said with a laugh.
