Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming！

Chapter 53: Chapter 53: My good or bad has nothing to do with you!

Just to vent his grievances against her, he even said his own company lacked humanity, God Seys, is such self-deprecation really okay?

Ariel Morris pursed her lips, ”Arlo Seys, I’m really cold now. I’ll just borrow it for ten minutes.”

Arlo Seys’ thin lips moved slightly; he was about to refuse when Ariel Morris placed two bowls of glutinous rice balls in his hands and quickly slipped into the room. Afraid that Arlo Seys might throw her out, Ariel Morris dashed straight to the bathroom, ”Arlo Seys, you go ahead and eat first, I’ll eat after I shower.”

”...”

With a bang, Ariel Morris shut the bathroom door, followed by the sound of rushing water.

Arlo Seys, holding the two bowls of glutinous rice balls, glanced at the tightly closed glass door of the bathroom, then looked away, his gaze falling on the bowls in his hands, eyes deep and unreadable.

Arlo Seys set down the bowls; he had never liked these desserts and did not touch them. Grabbing a pack of cigarettes, he returned to the balcony, smoking one after another, while his headache intensified.

Women generally took longer to bathe, and Ariel Morris took half an hour to finish. She was about to put on clothes to go out when she discovered, to her dismay, that due to habit, she had soaked her worn clothes in the water. She always cleaned her changed clothes after bathing, but now, what could she wear out?

Hesitating for a moment, Ariel Morris wrapped herself in a bath towel, awkwardly calling out from outside, ”Arlo Seys...um, could you lend me some clothes to wear?”

On the balcony, Arlo Seys paused in his gesture as he brought the cigarette to his lips, realizing that Ariel Morris’ clothes were too wet to wear again, and stepped to the wardrobe to fetch one of his shirts and headed to the bathroom.

He knocked on the bathroom door, speaking indifferently to Ariel Morris on the other side, ”Open the door.”

Slowly, Ariel Morris opened the door, her face rosy and cute from the heat of the shower. She poked her little head through, smiling sweetly at Arlo Seys, ”Thank you, Arlo.”

Her use of the name Arlo caused the hand extended to give her the shirt to tremble slightly. Before he could react, Ariel Morris had already reached for the shirt.

When Ariel Morris emerged after dressing, Arlo Seys had already regained his usual calm and distant demeanor, standing on the balcony, his silhouette somewhat cool.

The lighting on the balcony was a bit dim, with the sound of the rain outside entering intermittently. Arlo Seys stood in a robe, under the soft light, embodying effortlessly the essence of his epithet---peerless elegance.

Ariel Morris glanced around the room until she found the two bowls of glutinous rice balls, picked them up, and made her way to the balcony.

She moved to his side, turning her head to look at him. Upon seeing his stern face, Ariel Morris spoke softly, ”Eat something; finish and go to bed earlier, it’s late.”

She handed him the glutinous rice balls, eyes widening in surprise upon seeing the item between his fingers, ”Arlo Seys...when did you start smoking?”

Arlo Seys said nothing, merely bringing the cigarette to his lips, taking a deep inhale, then exhaling a swirling puff of smoke.

His profile was perfect as a painting, yet now it carried an unusual sorrow and loneliness. Ariel Morris gazed at him, her heart suddenly piercing with pain.

”Are you...alright?” Without knowing why, Ariel Morris stupidly asked such a question. As the words left her mouth, she realized what she truly wanted to ask was: Over these eight years, have you been okay?

Many cigarette butts littered around Arlo Seys’ feet as he stubbed out the cigarette in his hand, turning coldly to look at her, voice icy, every word filled with hatred, ”Ariel Morris, eight years, you’ve disappeared without a trace for eight years! A lot has changed in those eight years! You’re no longer you, and I’m no longer me! Your well-being is irrelevant to me. Whether I’m well or not, is irrelevant to you!”
