Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming！

Chapter 52: Chapter 52: She Has Never Been So Obedient in Front of Him

He still couldn’t forget her—

Even because he deliberately tried to forget, intentionally locking away the name Ariel Morris in some unknown corner of his heart, it instead silently engraved itself deep within him.

A place locked away, never to be replaced or touched by anyone else.

”Knock, knock.”—

The sound of someone knocking on the door interrupted his contemplation.

Arlo Seys held a cigarette, regaining his usual cold demeanor, and went to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, Ariel Morris’s incredibly innocent face appeared before his eyes, her lips curling into a warm smile that made one feel warmth just by looking at it.

Arlo Seys was momentarily dazed by the familiar smile.

Then he heard Ariel’s clear, pleasant voice in his ear—

”Arlo, let’s have a midnight snack! I cooked some frozen tangyuan.”

Only then did Arlo notice the two bowls in Ariel’s hands, filled with steaming hot, plump tangyuan.

”Arlo, you must be hungry, come on, try some!” Ariel smiled as she offered him a bowl.

Arlo didn’t reach out to take the tangyuan, instead, his gaze shifted to her still-soaked body.

The spring rain was very cold, and he had taken a hot shower as soon as he got back home, just to feel a bit warmer. But she was still in her wet clothes making a late-night meal, and thinking of this, a sudden fire rose inexplicably in Arlo’s heart.

He shot her a cold glance, ”Take it away! I don’t eat sweets! Also, since your clothes are soaked, don’t walk around the house!”

His words were laced with impatience, his stern face devoid of any warmth, even his eyes carried a coldness.

Ariel’s smile froze at her lips, her eyes lowered to the water stains dripping at her feet, a bit embarrassed: ”But I don’t have any clothes to change into, and I don’t know which room I can use.”

Her cautious manner, with a hint of timidity, and her lowered brow and eyes made Arlo’s heart feel complicated.

Ariel had never been so obedient in front of him—

Back then, her brows were touched with a bit of pride, her smiles bright and full, always energetic in front of him, never so apprehensive.

A lot had changed in those eight years!

Even she had become timid in front of him.

If it had been the Ariel from eight years ago at his house, she likely would have bossily taken over his master bedroom, forcing him to sleep in the guest room. But now, she didn’t even dare to casually choose a guest room....

Just as Arlo felt another wave of frustration welling within him—

Ariel looked up at him, then her eyes craftily scanned the room.

”Arlo... considering I’m your junior, can you lend me the bathroom for a shower? Achoo~~~”

Arlo looked at her coldly without speaking.

Ariel gave a sweet smile, with a hint of pleading, gesturing with her eyes and said, ”Look here, I made a midnight snack for you. In return, just let me borrow the bathroom for a shower, if... if you don’t mind, could you also lend me a set of clothes to wear...?”

”I mind!”

Arlo coolly and decisively rejected her, then moved to close the door.

As if knowing his intention, Ariel suddenly held the door, not letting him close it, looking at him pitifully and said, ”Arlo, I’m really cold. If I get sick, I won’t be able to go to work, and if I can’t go to work, you’ll end up paying me for nothing at Era, isn’t that a bad deal for you?”

Arlo coldly smiled, ”We at Era aren’t so humane! An intern asking for sick leave on the second day, an employee like that isn’t welcomed at Era either!”

Ariel could hear the implication in his words.

What he meant was that Era didn’t welcome her; the further she could roll away, the better....
