Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming！

Chapter 51: Chapter 51: He Thought Time Could Wash Everything Away...

But reason ultimately defeated that illusion. After coming to his senses, Arlo Seys suddenly pulled back his hand that Ariel Morris was holding, his tone icy, ”Ariel Morris, we were cut off by you eight years ago! I have no obligation or kindness to take you in! Saving you today was only out of humanity! Even if it were a stranger facing such a situation, I would rescue them too!”

Ariel Morris’s eyes gradually dimmed, and she forced a slight smile as she softly said, ”I know, Arlo Seys, can’t you just let me stay for one night? Just one night... just for the fact that I was once your junior in school.” After saying this, she lowered her head, looked at her bare feet, bit her lip, and said softly, ”And my shoes were left in that alley...”

Arlo Seys glanced at Ariel Morris with his deep-set eyes. The black suit draped over her shapely figure, her hair disheveled over her shoulders, her cheeks red and swollen, her entire body looking as if it had just been pulled out of water. The way she pursed her lips to speak seemed pitiable. Arlo’s throat moved slightly, and his feigned indifference and cold words, at this moment, couldn’t utter a single word.

”Young master, you’re back!”

As Arlo Seys was in a daze, Aunt Forest’s voice sounded from behind.

Arlo turned his head and responded with a faint ”hmm”.

”And who is this young lady?” Aunt Forest’s gaze fell on Ariel Morris.

Ariel Morris stepped forward, smiling politely and warmly, ”Hello, my last name is Morris.”

Ariel’s smile was as warm as the morning sun, sweet and brilliant, immediately earning Sister-in-law Forest some goodwill. Even more surprising to her was that their young master brought a girl home for the first time! Thus, from the bottom of her heart, she felt that this Miss Morris’s relationship with their young master must be extraordinary.

Aunt Forest smiled gently at Ariel Morris, and when she noticed that both were soaked, she was full of surprise, ”How did the young master and Miss Morris get drenched like this? I’ll make some ginger tea to drive off the cold and prepare a late-night snack for you both.”

”Alright!”

”No need!”

Two voices blurted out simultaneously.

Arlo Seys cast a cold glance at Ariel Morris, who immediately lowered her head without speaking. Only then did Arlo turn to Aunt Forest and spoke faintly, ”You go rest, no need, she can take care of herself.”

Arlo’s gaze carried a slight chill, and Aunt Forest, looking at Ariel Morris, thought they wished to be alone, so her presence would disturb them. Hence, she respectfully said, ”Alright, young master,” smiled at Ariel, nodded to indicate, then turned and went back into the house.

Arlo also lifted his leg to move towards the house.

Because Aunt Forest interrupted the conversation, and Arlo didn’t coldly tell her to leave afterward, Ariel Morris boldly followed him.

Arlo Seys went directly upstairs as he entered the living room, as if he completely forgot there was a ”guest” present.

Ariel Morris pouted at Arlo Seys’s retreating back upstairs, her eyes dimming little by little.

Arlo Seys, why muster the courage to chase you once more so hard?

After finishing his shower, Arlo Seys suffered from the aftereffects of drinking too much, leading to a splitting headache. He lit a cigarette, wearing his robe, he went out to the balcony, trying to alleviate the headache and hoping the cool breeze would blow away the disturbances in his heart that shouldn’t have arisen.

In the spring rain night, it was slightly cool and silent.

Arlo took a deep drag on his cigarette, then exhaled heavily, yet he felt a bitter taste spreading from his heart to his throat.

Thinking back to the alley where he watched her almost get bullied, remembering how he lost control nearly leading to serious harm, a deep self-mockery flashed in his pupils.

He thought time could dilute everything, heal the wounds of the past, but ever since meeting her again, he realized how ridiculous his self-deception over these eight years had been.
