Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming！

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: She Is His Point of No Return

He never smoked before, except the month Ariel Morris broke up with him, when he left the room filled with cigarette butts. Otherwise, he never touched them.

And today, after coming out of the hospital ward, he felt a stifling heaviness in his heart, extremely uncomfortable. So he inexplicably ran to the small supermarket outside the hospital to buy a pack of cigarettes, then ran back to sit downstairs of the inpatient department.

One after another, the cigarette between his fingers was already the last one in the pack.

He didn’t even know what was wrong with him. Clearly, she had woken up, and there was nothing between them anymore. Wasn’t he supposed to leave?

Arlo Seys looked at the lit-up ward of Ariel Morris, the self-mockery in his eyes deepening.

Arlo Seys, knowing full well she’s a hopeless predicament, are you still going to fall into the cycle again?

————

The spring night was long and slightly cool.

The morning light pierced through the thin mist.

Arlo Seys rubbed his aching temples, his face full of exhaustion.

He glanced at Ariel Morris’s ward, his eyes bottomless.

”Hey, handsome guy, you’re still here?”

Upon hearing the voice, Arlo Seys turned his head to look at the person approaching.

The nurse walking out of the inpatient building was the same one who administered an IV to Ariel Morris yesterday.

The nurse rubbed her sore arm and glanced at the place where Arlo had been staring in a daze. When she saw the ward with the open window, her eyes filled with teasing laughter, ”Fallen in love at first sight with the girl?”

Arlo Seys wore an indifferent expression and didn’t respond.

The nurse took his silence as embarrassment, and unabashedly continued speaking, ”A beauty and a handsome guy, a match made in heaven! Handsome guy, maybe your heroic act has won her favor? Keep it up! But it’s quite pitiful for her too, being all alone in the hospital, with no family to accompany her. Alright, I was on the night shift yesterday, just finished shift handover, I’m going home to catch up on sleep!”

After speaking, the nurse stretched and left.

”Has she eaten breakfast?” Arlo Seys blurted out, asking.

”Probably not, she seemed to still be sleeping. Last night, her stomach was hurting, and she didn’t fall asleep until early morning,” the nurse replied before leaving.

After the nurse left.

An image of Ariel Morris’s pale and slender face flashed through Arlo Seys’s mind, her look delicate yet carrying an air of vulnerability. His eyes glanced once more at the ward with the open window, and a hint of self-mockery glinted in his eyes. In the end, he took out his phone and called Aunt Forest, the housemaid.

”Aunt Forest, prepare a mild nourishing soup, I’ll come to pick it up later.” His lips pursed slightly as he spoke again in a deep voice, ”Also, make one serving each of your specialty green onion layered pancake and chestnut cake.”

Aunt Forest’s surprise was audible over the phone, ”Young master, didn’t you say you’d never eat green onion layered pancake and chestnut cake again? I haven’t made them in eight years, I’m not sure if my skills have declined.”

”I’ll come to pick them up later!”

Arlo Seys abruptly ended the call.

In the Royal View City villa, Aunt Forest listened to the busy tone, her face filled with confusion.

She genuinely wondered if she had misheard!

Eight years ago, the young master loved the green onion layered pancake and chestnut cake she made, always bringing breakfast to school.

Then, after a while, for some unknown reason, every time the young master saw these two foods on the dining table, his eyes were filled with disgust, and he instructed that these foods should never appear at home again.

Since then, neither the old Seys Family estate nor the young master’s private villa had these foods anymore.

Why would the young master suddenly want to eat the layered pancake and chestnut cake now?

Well, regardless of the reason, since the young master wants to eat, she must bring out her best skills to make these two delicacies she hasn’t made in eight years!
